ch 55: Because I said so

Peter's pov

I looked around. I was in a dark room. All my body was hurting me. I saw my brother coming with a belt and he whipped me

Ah!

" That's what you take when you disobey me and sneak out."

I jumped screaming out of pain when I got caught by two warm hand on my shoulders

" Shh, it's gone." It was Cole, I looked at him with widened eyes.

" Baby, calm down, I'm here, it's gone. It's gone." He said, wiping my sweat

He gave me a cup of water. I drank it. I looked around, I'm in his room, on his bed. He took the glass and I hugged him

" Do you love me?" I asked as tears left my eyes

" Of course, I do, honey." He said, patting my back in soothing way, then kissed my head

" I'm sorry," I mumbled

So pathetic!

He pinched my cheek lightly and said, " Stop apologizing for everything."

" How did I sleep?

" You hugged me, I was about to pull away but I realized you were asleep so I put you in my bed, you seem tired." He wiped my cheeks with his thumbs

" I'm hungry." I told him

" Let's take you to have your dinner." He said nicely

I nodded. We went into the kitchen. He served me and I had it happily.

The bell rings.

" I'll get it." I shouted so my brother won't bother himself

I opened the door to be surprised with Miles and Levio standing in front of me.

" Hey, guys." I greeted

" Hey."

" Come in, I thought you had keys." I said

" I have but it's nice to get permission. I'm not David." He said smirked

I laughed, then entered the living room, followed by them. My brother came downstairs too.

" Hey, Lev." Cole greeted as he ruffled Miles' hair.

" Hey, I got this yesterday." He gave my brother a doctor jacket filled with blood

" It's a threat." I said

" Yeah." Miles affirmed

" So guys, I think it's time to just stay with me... It's the safest now."

" I think so," Levio said, " I'll call the men to get our things and I will sell that house."

" I'm going to my work. Miles will stay here." Lev said

" Yeah sure. I'll call Dave and Sofie."

" Yeah, even drag them in here."

They called David and Sofia and made sure they are coming. Levio went to his work and I helped Miles to settle down.

" What's wrong?" I asked him as I noticed that he is bothered

" I broke up with Layla."

" Why?"

" She started nagging a lot and I fed up." He glared," Second, I don't t like how Levio treating me like a baby. He thinks that I can't stay alone, and can't defend myself. He needs to make sure I'm safe all the time."

" Cole too doesn't like to even talk about the gang's stuff in front of me."

" We just learned how to defend ourselves and how to drive, the names of the poisons and other things to just stand and watch." He huffed

" Yes, I don't like it either." I hugged too

" Miles, do you have dinner?" Cole barged into the room

We flinched

" Yes, Cole. Thank you." Miles said.

Cole raised his eyebrow. " You will call me that too?"

" No, it's a slip."

Cole laughed and asked me, " You won't learn to finish your dinner?"

" You won't learn to knock on the door and wait for permission to come in?" I asked.

Miles pinched my arm slightly to shut up, Cole chuckled and went out.

" Ohh God, he can attack you, man," Miles said worriedly

" No, he won't." I smiled

" How?"

" Sit down, let's fill you with the news."

I told him every then we took our phones and started playing Free fire. My brother entered the room again.

" Boys, I'm going out, stay in the house, don't open the door to anyone, okay?"

" Fine." We said in unison

He marched to us, and gave us a kiss on the forehead. I smiled at the affection. He grinned back at me then left.

" Did you tell him about Aria?" Miles asked

" Not yet."

" You will wait until he finds out?"

" No, I will tell him tonight."

" Good."

" Ohh It's pouring."

" Yeah, let's put on a movie. It will be perfect in this weather."

" Horror one."

" Don't cry all night." He smirked at me

" And you don't wet your bed." I smirked back

We laughed and went to the living room. We put on a horror movie. Sofia came home and joined us.

" Are you fine Sofia?" Miles asked her

" No, I'm worried. I want to lock on them in the house." She said talking about her friends

" What If David wasn't with me yesterday? They were about to trick him, nothing was suspicious in the house, they were hiding very well to kill him. And now Levio? It's my fault, they stole some files. My men's names were written on them." She was on the verge of tears

" How do they know your identity at first?"

" In Italy, I was there for a mission and I succeeded to finish it but there was a man who was chasing me, and I dunno how he knew my identity."

" Ohh I see, why didn't you let us help you?" I asked

" Because you don't have to." Cole said, walking into the living room along with David

" But we want to." I said

" We don't want your help. Period." Cole said harshly

" Why?" I asked irritated

" Why? Because I said so, Peter." He replied aggravated, rolling his eyes

I was about to say something when caught my attention David shaking his head, so I just shut up.

We don't want to taste him!
