"Hush Aurora", I repeated for the hundredth time since this morning and it's only been like 3 hours.

"But-", she tried to say something to tilt the argument to her favor but I wasn't having any of that and cut her off with a "We'll see. Okay? but after the war".

"Okay. Just mate fast, I want them", she said in a pouty voice which made my heart hurt. Aurora has done too much for me in the short span of time that we have been together, and it hurts me that she's not with her mates yet. She has been patient with me but it's downright painful for her now to not be with them, and frankly- me too.

I walked the way to Grey's Alpha office, with thoughts of 'mating' on my mind filling me with glee that I'd never admit to. The thoughts consumed me entirely to the point of not realizing that I was already outside his door, the scents of my mates inside tempting me.

I walked in after knocking and being let in by Jace, adorable with a wide smile on his face. His blonde locks, unevenly cut were covering part of his face making me fall more for him, I've wondered what it'd be like to run my hands through them. 

"Cami!", she said enthusiastically making my spirits lift with the pitch of his voice.

"Hey Babe", I continued with an equally bright grin followed by leaning forward to join our lips by pulling his head down. That felt nice- something I'd been craving for. His smile grows even wider after we separate, along with the shade of pink on his cheeks that I pretend to not see.  

With a cheery smile, I say, "Grey, heyy", as his gaze lifts to take in my figure, followed by a subtle satisfying smile on his face. 

"You're here", he said in a tired tone.

"Long night?", I questioned.

"Yeh, couldn't figure out the breach in security- where did that girl come from yesterday?", he said again with a tired sigh and rubbed his temples.

"Well, you won't have to worry about it. We end it tonight.", I speak out, while discreetly enjoying Ella's scent rubbed off on their clothes since she's not here right now. I wish her scent would rub off on my clothes someday.

"Tonight", he said grimly but after a moment of contemplation he said, "Strange how that seems so close and so far away at the same time". Sensing waves of discomfort and hurt radiate from him, tonight couldn't come fast enough, to end it, to end it all for good.

"You've got the rocks powdered?", I asked him since we'd be needing those tonight.

"Olivia- my cousin will drop them off soon", he said. His family- strange how I'm concerned about the way they perceive me now, has he even told anyone? Doesn't matter, if I pretend it doesn't for long enough, it eventually won't- right?

Warm hands on my shoulder earn a smile from me, Jace said "And, we'll get the answers from the she-wolf after getting the pixie-dust of war from Liv", making me hum in agreement.

"Ellie?", I asked, tilting my head at her absence which was making Aurora uncomfortable too- it just didn't feel right without her anymore.

"Didn't want her to see any ugly shit today, especially with Marina", replied Jace.

"Oh- okay then", I said, glad they made that call.

The rest of the afternoon was spent in pleasant conversation with my mates, MY MATES- such a lovely combination of words that forces the world to stop for a moment. I think I'm there, or almost there with them, to the point where I don't need to hide away when I get even the slightest bit triggered. We can soon enough put this all behind us, be free from this circle of death and destruction.
