Amber's POV.

Connor seems so invested in learning all there is to know in being an Alpha and running a pack. The paperwork we are filling out is for the company we got the supplies from to repair our packs. We get our supplies from the human town close by.

Then we being the supplies here and go from there. This is just the paperwork for the payment and having a truck come out to meet us. I've met a few more humans since then and they all seem so very nice.

I've heard about cars and all from humans, but I've never seen one in person. We are getting the supplies tomorrow for our last repair and I plan to go in person and greet them.

I don't know if Connor wants to go with me, so I plan on asking him. He doesn't know it yet, but he's already being a great Alpha for this pack. I know his healing will take time and I will be by his side every step of the way.

" This is all very interesting. Do humans have to fill out paperwork for everything? " asks Connor.

He looks at me with the most innocent look of interest that I've ever seen. He's so cute. I smile back at him. " According to Alpha Conan, no they don't. It's mainly for running a business or buying a house. " I say.

" What's the point of paperwork though?" He asks.

" It's basically like insurance. Like, say you buy some of these supplies and you've already filled the paperwork out and it shows up damaged. You can call the company and tell them and they will send you replacements or pay you back for the damaged product so you don't have to pay for stuff you can't use. " I say.

He nods. " That makes sense. Where do we get the money though?" Asks Connor.

" I asked the same thing. In the human town, there's a little shop some of our older pack members own. They sell hand made furniture and they even sell baked goods such as pies and cakes and even cookies. They've made a lot of money that way and after years of saving up, we have enough to buy these supplies, plus more. " I say.

" I see. Man, these so much more that goes on behind the scenes to run a pack. " says Connor.

" There is. I didn't realize just how much until I fully started this. I'd rather know everything I can about the pack and how to help instead of just sitting behind the scenes. It gets boring. " I say.

That gets a small laugh out of him. " It's amazing to see you work. You're so dedicated to helping. " says Connor.

" It's how I was raised. My father was always very strict with rules. He used to never believe a thing I said because he thought I was lying childish and making it up. He's a very good father though. I think one of the good things that came out of all this fighting was the fact we all grew from it. We became better versions of ourselves. " I say.

" That's a good way to think of it. I'll have to thank your father next time I see him for raising such an amazing woman. " says Connor.

I smile at him and point my pen at him. " Now you're just being a flirt. " I say.

He pretends to gasp in offense and places a hand on his chest. " Who? Me? Never!" He says playfully.

That has me laughing then. So hard my sides start to hurt. I can still see the old Connor under all those layers of hurt. He's fighting to get out and I know one day he will. I love this version of him as well.

It's very different seeing a new side to Connor I've never seen before. Even though he has no memory of us from before, that means we can get to know each other again. I love him so much.

" Nice one. " I reply.

A small giggle comes from him and I can't help the huge grin that comes across my face. He's so cute when he makes that noise. I found out last month that he snorts when he laughs real hard.

It was so freaking cute, I almost couldn't handle the cuteness. I lean over and kiss his cheek. He turns his head and our lips connect in a kiss.

He then backs away. " You're brilliant. You know that?" He says.

" Takes someone brilliant to realize the brilliance of others. " I say in reply.

He chuckled. " You got a point there. "

I grin and he then helps me finish the rest of the paperwork. After that I open up the side drawer to the desk and put it in there with the pen on top. I then close it.

" Tomorrow we are meeting a guy for our last load of supplies. I am going to greet him and I wanted to know if you would want to join me?" I ask Connor.

" That sounds amazing, but... are you sure I'm ready for something like this?" He asks.

" I think you're more then ready. Plus, I'll be by you every step of the way. " I say.

He nods and still looks a bit uncertain. Only he looks at me and I see a look of pure trust. He nods. " Ok, I trust you. " he says.

I lean over and kiss him on the head. " Don't think too much about it. I'll keep you safe. " I say.

He rests his forehead on mine. " I'll do the same for you. " he replies.

I hug him tightly and then the two of us head downstairs. Tomorrow will be a busy day, but I know it'll be better with Connor by my side. Alpha Conan will be there too.

Right now the two of us are going to go grab a bunch of flowers and plant them on every grave we have here in the pack. We do this once a week nod Connor loves it.

With that, we leave the pack house in search of the flowers.
