Jasmine's POV.

" Again it was so nice to see you, have a good day. See you next time. " I said as my first patient of the day left my office.

She was a human who was scared to death of dogs because she was attacked and essentially maimed by a group of dogs that belonged to her neighbor as a little girl.

She's been dealing with some serious anxiety from it, but ever since she started therapy she's made leaps in her recovery. We're to the point where next week I will be bringing in my dog as a small test. I asked her for her permission first of course.

She's nervous but was willing to try. My dog is a sweet little chihuahua. She's a cuddle bug and just loves new people, but I've noticed something special about her. She can tap in to people's emotions and know whenever someone is scared or anxious. She will do everything she can to show she's not a threat and want to keep you company. Almost like what a service dog will do. Her name is Daisy.

I think my client and her will get along just fine. My next client is in two hours because I have a therapy meeting for myself in the next ten minutes. Over video call of course since it's during my working hours.

I spent the next few minutes setting everything up for my appointment and got into the virtual waiting room. When the time came my therapist appeared on the screen. Her name was Janine.

" Hello, Good morning Jasmine. How are you doing today? " she asked as she repositioned the glasses she wore.

She had silver hair from her older age but was smiling kindly at me. " Good morning. I'm doing well today.  How are you?" I ask.

" Oh I'm doing just fine. You are my first client of the day. How has your week been? Did you do anything exciting?" Asked Janine.

I smiled. " I did. I have an interview at my pack house with a guest from another pack who seemed to be in desperate need of a therapist. " I said.

" Oh, did you show him that little game you do?" Asked Janine.

" I did. He seemed to really enjoy it. " I said.

" That's wonderful. What are your thoughts on this boy?" She asked.

" He's young and very mature for his age. He was acting so professional, turns out his dad is the Bète of his pack. So he's grown up being raised how to be a Bète. He's also got lots of hidden potential and cares so much for other people. He didn't deserve what happened to him. That's for sure. " I said.

" You seem to have already formed a bond with him. " said Janine.

" In a way, yes. He's deciding between me and this other therapist named Penelope. " I said.

" Are you afraid he won't choose you?" She asked.

" Part of me is, but the other part of me knows that whichever one of us he chooses will be the best fit for him and all I want is for him to be happy again. " I said.

" That's a very mature way of looking at it. How has your sleep been?" Asked Janine.

" It's been ok. Last night I did have a nightmare. " I said.

" Really? It's been a while since you had one. Do you know what may have triggered it?" Asked Janine.

" I believe it's because the boy I was telling you about was also attacked by humans like I was. I guess my mind subconsciously linked the two of us together in that way and it must have triggered a nightmare, but no matter if it did trigger it I am fully prepared to be nothing but professional if he picks me. " I said.

" Very good. Now, was there any differences between this nightmare and the ones you've had before?" Asked Janine.

" This one was one I haven't had for years. It was about the original attack. " I said.

" My, it has been a while since you've had that one. How did you react to it when you woke up?" She asked.

" I woke up panicked but quickly remembered the breathing exercises and the techniques I was given by you to get through panic attacks and was able to calm myself before I ever had one. " I said proudly.

She grinned at me. " That's wonderful. I'm proud of you. " she said.

" Thank you. " I said.

" Now I see you've decided to wear the eye patch today. Why is that?" She asked.

" After the nightmare it took me two hours to get back to sleep. I overslept and had to rush ti work. I never had the time to put in my glass eye. " I said.

" That's understandable. We all have those days. " said Janine.

I nodded and gave a small smile. " What do your clients think when they see you without your glass eye?" Asked Janine.

" Some think it's cool. Some, the teenagers, have asked to actually see me without the eye patch. Before realizing that it was wrong for them to have said that. I indulge them though and they find it fascinating. Some don't pay any mind to it. I've only had one lady who thought it was frightening but she still remains my patient to this day. " I said.

" That's good. How do you feel when the teenagers ask to see you without the eye patch? " asked Janine.

" It used to bug me and make me feel uncomfortable but now I take it in stride and sometimes make it the rise they win if they're completely good throughout the session. " I said.

" I'm so glad you've got a good sense of morality with it and it doesn't make you feel bad about yourself. " said Janine.

" I felt like that for a while after it first happened but I changed my way of thinking thank to you and have never had those negative thoughts since. " I said.

" I'm so glad. " said Janine.

We talked for the remainder of the hour before we said goodbye and ended the meeting. Now I had thirty minutes to relax before my next client is ready which gives me time to decompress after a meeting like the one I just had.

I don't mind if John chooses Penelope over me. I just hope he gets the correct treatment he needs. Being attacked my humans is no joke and I'd hate for him to have ti find another therapist so soon after his first. Not that it might happen that way but I always keep my mind open for anything.

With that last thought I put some headphones in my ears and play some comforting music as I lean back in my chair and wait for my next appointment.
