Chapter 20.

Evan's POV.

The next morning we wake early to something going on downstairs. I leave Sasha and Pamela to get ready as I head to the adjoining bathroom and get ready myself.

I then head downstairs to see what was going on. Apparently we're not the only ones who are staying at the pack house. I spot Amber helping an elderly lady to her seat. She was listening and nodding her head as the lady spoke.

Soon she spots me and walks over to greet me. " Good morning Evan. How did you sleep?" She asks.

" Really well actually. Thank you again for everything you're doing for us. " I say.

" Anytime. " says Amber.

" So, what's going on here?" I ask.

Amber grins. " This is my favorite part of the week. Every Wednesday morning we invite all the elderly member of the pack to come here for a special breakfast we make them. We then play some board games and sometimes we even hold a little bingo tournament for them. They absolutely love it. " says Amber.

" You guys have really thought of everything, haven't you?" I say with a small laugh.

She laughs along. " Just about. "

" Anything I can do to help?" I ask.

" Nonsense. You are our guests. You just take care of your wife and that special little girl you've got and I'll handle the rest. " says Amber.

" As long as you're sure?" I say.

" Absolutely. You guys can eat out here if you want. I'm sure some of the folks here were love to see your daughter, but if you don't feel comfortable with that you could always eat in the private kitchen we ate at yesterday. " says Amber.

" I think eating out here would be lovely. Thank you. " I say.

She nods and goes back to mingle with the crowd and help out in any way she can. She's doing a fantastic job as Luna. I'm very thankful we met her.

A few minutes later after I've found us a spot to eat and have gotten us plates of food and cups of juice, my wife and daughter join me and we start to eat.

I explain what they're doing here this morning and Pamela is absolutely thrilled with the idea. Sasha is too and she starts to talk to the lady next to us. The look of fondness that crosses that lady's face is everything to us.

Finally when we're done eating and the games are just beginning, Amber comes over and sits down to join us. She's gotten herself some food finally and is sitting down to eat. She made sure everyone had some first and tended to everyone's every need before she tended to herself.

" Where's your mate?" Asks Pamela.

" He went out with Clayton for a run of the pack grounds. He feels a lot better today then he did last night. " says Amber.

" That's great. " I say.

" It is. " says Amber.

" It's a wonderful thing you are doing here for your pack. " says Pamela.

" Thank you. It actually started two months ago. Once we finished up cleaning most of the pack house. It was actually Connor's idea. " says Amber.

" Really? " I ask.

" Yes. He's very good at thinking about things this pack needs. He's going to make a great Alpha when the time comes. " says Amber.

" I'm sure he will. " says Pamela.

Amber suddenly freezes and seems like she's staring into space. Pamela becomes concerned and calls out to her. Amber then focuses again and smiles.

" Sorry about that. My father just contacted me over mind link. " she says.

They explained to us yesterday what that was. " Well that's good. " I say.

" It was. He was telling me about everyone at my home pack. I'll be right back. " says Amber before getting up and walking into another room to talk to her father in private.

" I wish we had that way of communicating. " I say.

Pamela laughs. " That would be pretty cool. " she admits.

" Where did Sasha go?" I ask.

Pamela points over to another table. Sasha is sitting with a group of people. They seem to be teaching her how to play checkers. Sasha thrives around people, so it's not surprise that she's able to get along perfectly with them.

" Shall we play a game as well?" I ask.

Pamela smiles at me and nods. We find a deck of Uno cards and decide to play that. Amber soon comes back and joins us in the next match.

" How is your family?" Asks Pamela.

" They're doing well. Alpha Kurt is running the pack perfectly and we're actually wondering if they could visit me while they travel to John's pack. " says Amber.

" That sounds wonderful. " says Pamela.

" It is. It makes me so excited. It's been a few months since I last saw them. " says Amber.

" I'm sure they will be more than thrilled to see you. " says Pamela.

" And I them." Says Amber.

After a couple more games we realize an hour had passed. People started to leave and Amber waved them all goodbye at the door. Once they were all gone the cleaning started. We decided to help out with that. Sasha was very helpful with putting the games back into the storage closet they had off to the side.

We swept and put up the remainder of the food. Once everything was done Amber sat down with a huge sigh. We smiled and sat down with her.

" Anything else you're doing today?" Asks Pamela.

" I got to fill out the last bit of the paperwork for the remainder of the prison that needs to be fixed. I know Connor has his appointment with you today at two. I also have to go and check out the shops today to make sure everything is going smoothly. I should be free around five or so. " says Amber. It was 11:00 in the morning currently.

" Sounds like you have a busy day. " I say.

" Oh that reminds me. Pamela, I've thought it through and realized that if you're going to stay here and help us, then you need an office of your own. We have a spare on the third floor that would be perfect for you. Follow me and I'll show you. " says Amber and off they went.

I look over at Sasha and see how tired she is. " Want a small nap?" I ask.

She's nods sleepily and the two of us head up to our room to get us a small nap before lunch.
