Connor's POV.

Walnut is so cute. I am outside sitting on the grass enjoying the sun and letting her enjoy time on the ground for the first time since finding her. She's been enjoying the warmth of the sun.

I wish like was as simple as this all the time. We'd never have to worry. It could just be full of joy and companionship. Yeah, that'd be nice.

Since my meeting concluded a while ago, I've been watching Walnut and trying to read a book. It's a bit tricky to do both at the same time, but I manage.

After a few more minutes I take Walnut inside and let her have some water and food. Once she's satisfied she curls up next to me on the couch and falls asleep.

I gently close my eyes and rest my head on the back of the couch. I feel a small headache building behind my eyes. It must be from being in the sun for so long. Maybe I need water? Yeah, that's it.

' Don't move for right now. Just relax Connor. Says my wolf.

It startled me at first. Then I relax. ' Don't I need water though?' I ask in my head.

I feel a rush of amusement. ' Of course you do. Everyone needs water to live. ' he says.

I roll my eyes. ' That's not what I meant and you know it. ' I said back.

' I know. I just like messing with you. ' he said.

I roll my eyes again. ' Oh, now where is all this sass coming from? I like it. Means you're getting better ' says my wolf.

This time I laugh. ' That's a good thing for sure. ' I agree.

I can feel him laughing too. ' I'm proud of you Connor. You've come so far in such a short amount of time and you just get better by the minute. Enjoy this time to yourself and relax. Who knows, maybe you'll get another memory?' Says my wolf.

' Maybe. ' I say back.

We both lapse into silence and I close my eyes and enjoy the time I have here to myself. After a half hour passed I hear the door open and the voice of Amber as she walked in with her parents.

I wonder what all they did today? It must have been exciting from the joy I can feel through the mate bond. It's not that often that I feel her emotions, but when she's feeling something strongly, that's when I feel it.

I lift my head and look over. She's practically glowing. The sunlight has encased her in a sparkling glow and the red on her cheeks from the sun is adorable. The way she smiles lights up the room and her hazel eyes. I can't get over how beautiful they are.

I know I'm spending more time away from her so I can heal more, but the more I'm away from her, the more I feel drawn to her. The bond wants us together always.

I'll have to listen to it soon, but for now I need to focus on healing. She then looks over and spots me. I almost duck down and hide after being caught staring. Instead I feel the heat build up on my cheeks and I offer a shy wave.

She grins and heads over to me. " Hey Connor. I'm going to get me some water. Would you like some?" She asks as if reading my mind.

" Yes please? " I ask.

She giggles and runs a hand across my forehead, brushing away my hair from my eyes before turning and walking off towards the kitchen.

My hair has grown quite a bit since I've been gone. I guess it always use to grow fast as I grew up. I'll have to ask my father about that one day. For now I put that to the back of my mind and focus on what's in front of me.

Amber's mother and father settle into the chairs around me and soon Amber joins us and passes me a glass of water.

Then she begins telling me what they did for her family and all with the walkway stone. I smile at her as she tells me. " That's a very creative idea. I like it a lot. " I say.

She practically glows at the compliment. " Thank you Connor. " she says.

" We both thought it was a wonderful idea too. " says Amber's father.

Her mother smiles and nods along. I then feel Walnut stir. I look over just as she stretches and a tiny squeak comes from her.

" Awww!!" We all cry softly.

I then let out a small laugh. I pick her up and lay her across my chest. She heaves a small sigh before settling down to sleep again.

" She's so cute. " says Amber's mother.

" She really is. " says Amber.

I nod along. I slowly drink the water Amber gave me and sigh at the feeling of the cool water going down my throat. It felt so soothing.

" So tonight the new coffee shop is opening and will be doing karaoke. Do you want to join us Connor?" Asks Amber.

Karaoke? I don't think I've ever tried that before. " I guess I can give it a go. " I say.

She cheers quietly. " Yay. I'm ever more excited now. " she then goes on to talk about her old favorite songs and rambling as to which one she may try singing tonight.

I just watch her with a look of adoration on my face. Unaware of her parents watching me and the way I look at their daughter. I can feel my wolf practically singing at the sight of his mate happy. Todays been good and tonight can only be good too. I can't wait.

A/N. Hey guys. So so sorry for the late post. Things have been crazy. I sank into a deep depression. I'm working my way out of it now. Plus my great grandmother passed away the other day so it's been tough. I'm ok tho and hope to be posting a lot more. Give me ideas on what songs you want to see your favorite characters sing at karaoke. Until then guys. Bye :-)
