Amber's POV.
Hearing from John was a nice surprise this morning. I miss when we were kids and got to be together all the time. But like always, things change and we have our own lives to live. As long as we keep in contact we will be just fine.
I'm so proud of him for seeking help. Admitting you need it is always the hardest step. You'd always like to think that you're ok, that things are just fine and that there's nothing wrong with you and the truth is, there is nothing wrong with you.
It's how we are all designed, it's how we were made. We can't be perfect because nobodies perfect. We each have our own issues and ways of handling and processing them and some of us just need help from others to process things.
That doesn't mean you're broken of that there's something wrong with you. It simply means you're human. No one knows what the future holds, but together we will prosper. Together we will stand. Together we will live another day. We can't do it on our own. We need each other to live and that's why I love the idea of us living in packs.
We are surrounded by friends and family and people who care about one another. People who are sweet and kind but are going through daily struggles just like any other person. We rely on each other to survive and it doesn't make us weak to need others. It makes us strong. An Alpha is worth nothing without their pack and a pack is worth nothing without their Alpha. It's our circle of life and I love it.
Once I finished talking to John I walked back into the kitchen to see Rebecca was having a conversation with Connor. She was so animated with her movements and her eyes were glowing green. Connor was clearly trying not to laugh but he had a smile on his face.
I helped myself to another cup of coffee. As I was about to go over to Connor and Rebecca I heard the radio turn on. I walked over and waited.
" Luna Amber. I have a small request. " came the voice of Anastasia.
I picked up the radio and pressed the button. Aware now that Connor and Rebecca were looking at me in concern.
" Luna Amber here. How can we be of help to you?" I asked.
" Some of my people were looking around from the lookout and, ugh I know this is going to sound ridiculous, I feel ridiculous even asking about it, but they saw a small coffee shops with baked good and all and they want to know if they can walk in and buy some?" Asked Anastasia.
I huffed a small laugh. " Anyone is welcome. I'll be down there in a few minutes to help the owner prepare the store. Tell your people to stop by in thirty minutes and we should be ready for them. " I said.
" Thank you. " said Anastasia before the radio cut out.
I looked at Connor and started laughing. He was hiding a laugh behind his hand. Rebecca was giggling. " I'll take Tasha with me and head on over. You stay with Rebecca and get things rolling around here. Sound good?" I asked.
He nodded. I ruffled Rebecca's hair before leaving. Tasha had stayed the night at the pack house and I sent her and the store owner a mind link about what's going on.
Soon Tasha and I were walking into the small town we have and down to the coffee shop where we had our karaoke night the other night. We walked in and saw the owner and some pack members were helping her set up.
" Where are your employees?" I asked.
" They seemed scared when I mentioned the humans wanted to come and enjoy some coffee and food. I told them they could go home for the day and that I'd handle it. Some members from the pack decided to stay and help out instead. Please, help yourself to come coffee. " said the store owner.
