Tasha's POV.
Tonight has been fun so far. The crowd is a good size, people are laughing and just enjoying each others company. The songs are good no matter if the person singing can sing or not.
I plan on going up there once this couple is done with their duet. The song I'm picking has multiple meanings behind it for me. It's a fun song for one, two, it's know as the female anthem, and three, I want to sing it to Amber because she's so strong and running this pack by herself. She's proven she doesn't need help from a male. Just like Alpha Grace.
These two are powerful, strong, independent women and I want Amber to realize this as I sing this song. Even if the words don't seem to make sense at parts. I still want to her to know that.
She's always loved this song anyway. Once the couple is done singing I stand up and raise my hand. " We have our next singer. " says the guy running the karaoke machine.
Amber laughs and claps her hands as I walk up to the stage confidently. I take the microphone and whisper to him what song I want to sing.
By now everyone in the pack knows who I am and who my mate is. " Go Tasha!" Cried Clayton in encouragement.
I laughed as the music started up. People were smiling from ear to ear. I couldn't help grinning back at the crowd.
I lifted the microphone to my mouth and started to sing. " I come home in the morning light, my mother says, " when you gonna live your life right?" I started. Amber grinned at me and Clayton held up his hands in a thumbs up. " oh, mamma, dear, we're not the fortunate ones. And girls— they wanna have fun. Oh girls, just wanna have fun. "
I can see everyone enjoying the song already and I've just barely started. I know I'm not the best singer, none of us are really, but we do our best and that's what matters.
" The phone rings in the middle of the night. My father yells, " What you gonna do with your life? " Oh, Daddy, dear, you know your still number one. "
I decide to have a little fun. " But girls— they wanna have fun. " I hold out the mic and the crowd gets the idea immediately.
" Oh girls, just wanna have fun." They sing. I grin in joy and put the microphone back towards my mouth and together we all start to sing.
" That's all they really want. Some fun. When the working day is done. Oh, girls— they wanna have fun. Oh girl, just wanna have fun. " we sing.
It's times like this I wish my parents were here. This would be something they would enjoy. I remember growing up, some days we would just sing and dance in the kitchen as we bakes cookies and pies for other packs members. It always warmed my heart to think about those memories. Amber would even join us sometimes.
Girls— they wanna, wanna have fun. Girls wanna. " we continued to sing.
Amber was f singing along but she was smiling like she was remembering a fun memory.
As we sang I walked over to Amber and she looked shocked at first before realizing what I was doing. I held the microphone towards her and gave her a look. She laughed.
" Some boys take a beautiful girl and hide her away from the rest of the world. I wanna be the one who walks in the sun. " she sings. I lean closer and sing with her. " Oh girls— they wanna have fun. Oh Girls just wanna have fun. "
I then head back towards the stage. Amber grinning and singing along with everyone else as well this time. The smile she has on her face is one I've been waiting to see. It's one of pure joy.
As I continue to sing the song the crowd slowly dies down from singing and allow me to finish on my own.
It doesn't take me too long to finish the rest of the song, but once I finish everyone starts to cheer. I take a overly dramatic bow.
" Thank you everyone. " I say.
They laugh. I then hold the mic out. " Who wants to sing next?" I say.
Sasha cheers and holds up her hand. Pamela raises her hand up too and the two of them make their way to the stage.
This will be good. Sasha is having a blast tonight and it's just barely begun. I can't wait to see what song she chooses.
I pass the microphone to them and head back to my spot at the table. Amber grins as I sit back down next to her.
" That was a lot of fun Tasha. " says Amber.
" I figured you would like that. " I say.
" Always. " she replies.
We then giggle at ourselves. " You remember that old Hannah Montana movie we use to watch?" Asks Amber.
" The one with the Hoedown Throwdown?" I ask.
" The very same one. " she says.
" Yeah I remember that. We were obsessed with learning that dance for the longest time. " I say.
" Well that's the song Sasha has chosen and she wants to teach us the dance before they sing it. " says Amber.
I let out a laugh. " This is so going to be fun. " I state.
" Exactly. " says Amber.
We look back at the stage and see the floor was being cleared out so some people could dance when they wanted too. After a few minutes some people were up and Sasha was teaching them the dance.
I look at Amber. " Wanna go join them. Looks like it'll be a lot of fun. " I say.
" Definitely. " says Amber.
Clayton grins. " I'll join too. " he said.
I grin even more and the three of us get up and make our way to the dance floor. It's officially time to get this night moving.
