Clayton's POV.

Tasha and I are still working on the old tree house Cassandra, Connor and I had when we were kids. We've already started repairs. The first step was to build a better and safer way to get to the top.

We decided on making a much bigger ladder to climb up. While Tasha helped Pamela introduce Sasha to April and Donnie, I decided to take my free time working on the ladder.

I'll have to go for a run around the grounds soon to make sure everything's ok though. After a bit I look up from my work as I hear a whistle. I spot Tasha walking up to me carrying a glass of ice water. " Thought I'd find you here." She says.

I look at the time and yelp in alarm at the time. The time flew by and it's been a few hours now. Ambers not going to like me missing patrol. Dang it.

" Don't worry. I ran patrol for you. I just got back an hour ago. " says Tasha kissing my cheek and handing me the glass of water. I flush pink and duck my head.

" Don't feel bad or ashamed for missing patrol. Amber won't be mad. I promise. " says Tasha as if reading my mind.

" Really?" I ask.

She chuckled. " Really." She said.

I perk up a bit and take a long sip of the water I was handed. " The new Karaoke cafe is opening tonight and we're all going to sing. " says Tasha.

I look at her with a bit of panic. " I can't sing though. "

" Neither can I but I'm doing it anyway. " says Tasha.

" You can sing. I've heard you. " I say.

" I can carry a tune. Doesn't mean I'm a professional singer. " says Tasha.

" You make a good point. Fine, I'm in. " I say.

" Good. Now, set your work aside for now. You need a shower and then you can help us make dinner before we go to the cafe. Chop chop boy. " says Tasha clapping her hands at me.

I laugh and down the rest of the water. " Yes ma'am. " I say.

She hugged and my heart soars with love for her. The two of us head over to the pack house and upon her order, I head upstairs and straight to the shower.

Once I finish there I make my way back downstairs in a fresh set of clothes Tasha picked out for me tonight. I don't see her or Amber anywhere. They must be doing their girl thing and getting ready. Even Amber's mother is missing.

I share a look with her father and grin. His look confirmed that's where they were. I walk into the den to see Connor holding Walnut.

He looks at me and nods. " How was your day Connor?" I ask.

" Pretty good. " he said.

" You ready for this singing thing?" I ask.

" Absolutely not. " he says and that reaction has me laughing.

" I wholeheartedly agree. " I state.

" Aww come on you two. Don't be downers. It'll be fun. " Says Amber's father.

" We're not being downers. " I defend.

" We're being realistic. " says Connor.

Amber's father laughs. " So downers. " he confirms.

I groan in exasperation which makes him laugh even more. " Come on boys. Let's get to making dinner so the girls won't have to worry tonight. " says Amber's father.

I agree and so does Connor. He sets up a little blanket and lays Walnut down on it. He makes sure she can't fall off or crawl away and that she's in his line of sight before we go to get started on cooking.

We decide to make some over baked pork chops with BBQ sauce on it. A side of rice and green beans. Easy and delicious.

Connor takes to preparing the pork chops while I handle the rice and green beans. Amber's father sets to making the table and getting drinks ready.

Tonight the girls wanted everyone to look nice, so all the men were dressed up in nice pants and polo shirts. That way we look good and it's nothing too fancy. It makes me wonder what the girls are going to wear?  I guess I'll just have to wait for them to show us.

I smile to myself as I set everything to simmer, the pork chops were set in the over and everything seems to be going smoothly.

" Mister Clayton!" Cried Sasha. I looked to see her run up in what has to be the cutest little dress. It was a navy blue dress with a medium side bow on the back and white polka dots all over. It was adorable on her. The dress looks a bit familiar though.

" Look what I got. Miss Tasha gave me. She said that her friend Miss Cassandra let her take one of his childhood dresses for me to keep. Isn't it beautiful. " she cries as she does a twirl.

I let out a laugh. So that's who it's from. That makes perfect sense. I've seen Cassandra in that dress before. It's been so long, I'm shocked she kept her childhood dresses.

" It looks amazing on you Sasha. Almost like it was made for you. " I say.

" Right?!" She cries. I laugh again. I hear Connor and Amber's father laugh along as well. As we pul out the food the girls start making their was down the stairs. Each of them in dresses. Not super fancy dresses but ones that say tonight is going to be a good night.

Tasha walks up to me and I grin when I see her. She's in a red dress that goes past her knees. It was beautiful on her and I told her that. She grins her hair was in a French braid down her back. Amber must have helped her with it. Tasha had once told me she couldn't do a French braid but that Amber knew how.

As we fill our plates and sit down for a good meal I can just tell by the atmosphere that tonight is going to be a good night.
