Chapter 61.

Amber's POV.

After we ate I walked over to Rebecca and crouched down next to her seat. She looked at me and I offered a small smile.

" You know how I'm Luna of this pack right?" I ask.

She nods. " Well as Luna I have to protect this pack and everyone in it. I have people, humans, in my packs prison that I need to interrogate because of them attacking my pack. I don't know if these are the same humans that held you captive for so long so I can't bring you with me. Connor will be staying here and so will my mother. Will you be ok without me?" I asked.

She stiffened a bit at the mention of humans. Her eyes glowed. " What if I need to get in contact with you? I can't talk to you if I can't see you. " she said in my head.

" I actually have a plan for that. Tell me Rebecca, do you know what you are?" I ask.

She looks confused before her eyes glow again. " I know I'm not human but no one has ever told me what I am. " she said.

" Well, we are what's known as werewolves. We have a human form but we can also turn into a wolf. Most kids don't shift until they reach a certain age. I believe that you are either a werewolf like us or that you are half human. " I said.

" What does that mean?" She asked.

" It means that one of your birth parents was a human whereas the other was a werewolf. " I tell her.

" What if I am half human? Is that a bad thing?" She asked.

" Not at all. It just means that you would either shift into your wolf at a later age or you may never shift at all. " I tell her.

" Human are bad though. " she said.

" Not all humans are. Take Sasha and Pamela, they are human yet you've made friends with them. They've treated you so kindly. I have a friend who's fully human in another pack as well. His name is Matt. He is very kind. " I said.

" Humans have never been kind to me. " she said.

She looked down and my heart ached for her. I reached out my hand and gently brushed her hair out of her face. " I know you've had a hard life and that those humans treated you awfully. I promise you that no human on my pack would ever treat you with anything other than kindness. You have my word. " I tell her.

She looks back at me. " What's the human leaders name? I may know him and can help you. " she said.

" As sweet as that is for you to offer. I don't want to force you to relive moments that cause you emotional pain. " I said.

" I could help you though. " she said.

I smiled. " I'll tell you his name and you can tell me what you know, only if you want to though. Ok?" I said. She nods eagerly. " His name is David. "

She looked lost in thought before her eyes widened. " Oh, he's a new guy. He joined the humans a few months back he's really mean to me. " said Rebecca.

" So if I'm understanding you correctly, that means that David is not the leaders and he's trying to trick us?" I ask.

She nods. I turn towards Connor. " Get Alpha Conan and get more guards around the perimeter. Have them search the woods and anywhere you can think of. " I said.

Connor nods and cast one last look at Rebecca before passing Walnut over to Sasha before leaving and walking away.

I turn back to Rebecca. " Thank you for letting me know. I know it's not easy to think about them. " I said.

" It's ok. As long as they get punished for what they've done. " she said.

" They will be. Now, as for how we can communicate while I'm gone. As a werewolf, we have the ability to contact each other in our minds for hundreds of miles away with something we like to call a mind link. We can create them by force in emergencies or interrogations. We can also create them by friendship bonds or mating bonds. I would like your permission to create a mind link between us so you can contact me without needing to use your powers. " I tell her.

Her eyes widened in wonder. " Really? That's an amazing power. Will it hurt?" She asks.

" You won't feel a thing. " I tell her.

She grins then and nods. " You can make one for us then. "

" Ok. I'm about to create one. Ready?" I ask.

She nods and I then concentrate of using my powers to make a mind link between the two of us. ' Hello Rebecca. ' I said over our new mind link.

She gasps in wonder. " Just focus on it and talk to me like you would if we were face to face with each other. " I said.

She must have figured it out because seconds later I hear her in my mind and her eyes don't glow. ' Did I do it?'

" Yes you did. You did so good Rebecca. I'm so proud of you. " I tell her.

She is practically beaming at the praise I gave her. ' How can I help you capture these mean humans?" She asked.

" I know you want to help, but right now it's best for you to hang out with Sasha and just be a kid. I don't want you to force yourself to talk about something or someone that has hurt you. " I tell her.

She seems a little disappointed but nods in agreement. ' Thank you. ' she said.

I get up and hug her. " Just know that I would do anything for you. " I tell her.

She hugs me back. I don't want to leave her but I really need to get to work. My mother walks up and assures me that she will keep a close eye of her and make sure nothing bad happens to her.

I trust her and we wait for Connor to return before I say bye to Rebecca and leave the pack house with Alpha Conan and my father as well as a few guards and together we make our way to the packs prison. Time for some fun.
