Chapter 62.

Amber's POV.

We arrive at the pack house and all enter through the first door past the first level of security. We are soon walking down the hallway to the second floor where the humans are being held.

I talked over what we're going to do and what our plan will be for interrogating them. I then decide to send Rebecca a mind link to ease her mind.

' Hey, Rebecca. You doing good?' I ask her.

She took a moment to respond. ' It does work. So cool. I'm doing just fine Amber. ' she said.

' What are you doing?' I ask.

' Sasha and I are playing with Walnut. She's so cute and curious about everything. ' she said.

' Well good. I'm glad you're having fun. I'm about to get started with work. I will contact you when I'm done. If you need me anytime don't hesitate to contact me. ' I tell her.

' I won't. Thank you. ' she said and that was the end of our conversation.

Now I am about to make it to the cells holding the humans. They were talking to each other but stopped the second they heard our footsteps.

I walked in front of David's cell and looked at him. " Hello David. Did you sleep well?" I ask.

" Why would you care? This is a prison cell. " said David.

" I care because even if you are a prisoner in my pack, that doesn't give me any reason to treat you terribly. It is my job to make sure you are treated with respect and have all the accommodations you need. So I will ask you again, did you sleep good?" I ask.

He huffs and looks away. " It was fine. " he simply said.

" Good. What about all of you? Do you require more blankets or clothes?" I ask.

Everyone seemed hesitant but then the girl walked up to the bars. She motioned me to walk closer to her. " Yes?" I said.

" I am in need of an extra blanket for more privacy for me. That way I can use the restroom in peace. Also I am in need of some feminine hygiene products please?" She asked.

" We do have showers with toilets for privacy if it's what you require. However, I will make sure you get the products you need and some blankets for more privacy. " I tell her.

" Since you are the only girl here right now, could you take me to the showers? " she asked.

" I can sure do that. I'll have some of the guards stand at the doors for extra security in case you try something. " I tell her.

She nods and I take the keys from the guard and unlock the door. She steps out and is put in a set of cuffs. I take her by her upper arm and start to lead her in the direction of the showers.

Once there only she and I walk in. She looks around surprised. " I don't know what I was expecting, but these well kept up showers and toilets is not it. " said the girl.

" The first thing I did when I became Luna here was make sure this prison got the upgrades it desperately needed. My mate was in this prison for over a year and had a horrible experience. I make it my mission that no matter what crime they committed, they will get treated with respect. " I said.

" You are a very respectful Luna. I only know a few things about werewolves and I was expecting worse than this. " she said.

" We aren't evil people bent on destroying all humans. We just want to live our lives peacefully. " I said.

" I'm truly starting to second guess my motives that brought me here. " she said.

" If you don't mind me asking, what did bring you here?" I ask.

" David did. He told us about his friends death and how it happened. Claimed wolves came out of nowhere and killed him for no reason. Said they were very violent creatures that needed to be killed. I have kids at home so I felt as if I had a duty to do to get rid of those that could cause my family harm. " she said.

" I assure you that is not what happened. My brother was the one that got hurt first. David and his friends attacked him out of nowhere and he reacted in selfdefense. We never wanted to hurt anyone, but he didn't have a choice in the matter. It was so that I'd be killed. Tell me, what would you have done if you were randomly attacked by anyone for no reason?" I ask her.

She things for a moment. " I would have reacted in self defense as well. " she said.

" I understand you were doing what was needed to be done for your kids. What you felt you needed to do for your kid, but we are people just like you trying to love our lives in peace. I'm sure you understand. " I said.

" I do now. Thank you for clearing everything up for me. I just really want to get back to my kids. What can I do to lower my sentence any?" She asked.

" All you have to do is tell me everything you know about these werewolf hunter who are threatening my home and you won't have to spend any time in prison at all. We will happily escort you to your home and make sure you make it safely. " I said.

" Really? That's all and I can get back to my family. I'm a single mother raising two kids. They are with a babysitter for now. " she said.

" Are you afraid they could be in danger?" I ask.

" I am concerned, mainly because it was David who gave me the contact information for this babysitter. What if I turn on him and he orders for my kids to be killed?" She asked.

I think for a moment. " What would you say if I offered to send some really trusted people to go collect your kids and you stay here at my ack until we have everything taken care of? No one will be able to get you or your kids here. You would be safe. " I tell her.

" You don't know me that well, you would really do that for me?" She asked.

" I would. I value safety for all humans and werewolves. If someone needs help I will gladly help them. All I ask is that you do t hurt us for no reason. " I said.

She smiled at me. She then holds out her hand despite the cuffs. " I'm Jane. My kids names are Kyle and Michelle. They are ages 6 and 8. I will tell you anything you wish to know if you bring them safely to me." She said.

I shake her hand. " I'm Amber. It's very nice to meet you Jane. If you give me your address I will send my best people to go get them immediately. " I said.

She relays an address to me and I quickly mind link Tasha and Clayton about it and they agree to help right away. " They are on their way with a few guards now. We should have your kids with you within a few hours. Until then you will have to remain in the cell. Once we know for sure you aren't lying, which I doubt you are, we will release you and go from there. " I said.

" Completely understandable. " she said.

Soon she cleans up and we get her what she needs before I walk her back to the cells and put her back in hers.

Once the cell is locked I walk over to David's. " Come on David. It's time I question you about  everything. " I said.

As we walk by Steve's cell he shared a smirk with David and I pretend like I didn't see a thing. Our plan is already in motion. It's time to get this show on the road.
