A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"You can't fake what we have Adam"

Sally was pacing around in her office,when Chloe came in
"Hey I brought you a coffee" she looked at her "But by the looks of it you don't need anymore caffeine. Is everything okay"she asked
"Adam left out of the blue .And I haven't heard from him in days"she told her
"Did you have a fight or something?" Chloe asked
"No completely the opposite"Sally said
"Maybe it was a last minute business trip"she suggested
"That would be a possibility..if he still worked here"Sally informed her
"Uh oh"Chloe sighed "When Adam feels like he has been taken advantage of.. he tends to spiral. And want to get revenge on the people who have hurt him"
"He promised me he wouldn't retaliate"Sally said as she lean against the desk
"Adam Newman doesn't promise to not do something"Chloe said as she sat in the chair across from her
"This is different Chloe, when he says something to me he means it"she told her
"Look Sally you haven't known him for very long.Your relationship is really new. So you never seen him like this"
"That may be true Chloe, but he is still MIA and I'm worried. Who knows what he plans to do"Sally said as tears form
Chloe got up and hugged her friend
They pulled away
"We have a meeting with Victoria in a hour, so we need to focus on that right, okay"Chloe said
Sally nodded"Okay"she wiped away her tears
"We might not have jobs for much longer so we need to knock it out of the park at this meeting"
"I have been reassured that my job was safe. So I'm positive yours will be too"Sally told her
"And who assured you of this"Chloe crossed her arms
"Adam"Sally said without looking at her and grabbed the files
"Adam? Great he is missing that's not a good sign Sally"
"Relax it's gonna work out"she said as she walked out of the office

Later was back in her office alone, staring at the picture of her and Adam. She grabbed her phone
"Where are you? Please just let me know you are alright. I'm getting really worried"she texted him
Adam stood in the doorway "To answer your first question.. I'm right here"
Sally got up and rushed over to him "Do you know I worried I was. You left me a note and nothing"she said " I thought something had happened to you"she went to hug him
Adam pushed her away "I'm in one piece see" he told her
Sally was taking back by his behavior
"I never went away"he informed her
"Okay so where have been" she asked
"Around" he said as he walked away from her " I was going over what my father did to me. You know to try and work through what it all meant. And what I could have done to get his approval"
"I understand that. What he did it's a lot to digest, but why didn't you talk to me about it. I could help with some sort solution"
"I needed to me alone. And figure out how I was able to be manipulated by him again."he said
"That's not your fault Adam, your father is a user he doesn't care who he hurts to get what he wants"
"You may be right, I went over all things I did for him to lose faith in me and the one thing I kept coming back to was you"
"Why me"Sally said in shock
"Because Sally you are the reason pushed me out. You are standing between me and everything I want" he told her
"Look I know you are mad and you need someone to blame but I'm not the bad, it's your family Adam not me. I'm the one who loves you and supports you"
"Sally every since you came into my life, and we got together. I didn't realize it then but little by little my family pushed me away"he raised his voice
"Why are saying all this to me"she started crying
"Because it's the truth Sally"Adam said
"This isn't you Adam this is all crazy talk" she went to take his hand
He pulled away "The crazy thing was choosing to be with you at all. My father warned and I didn't listen. So I am being punished for choice"he said
"You said you loved me Adam,someone who says that wouldn't do this"she said
"I'm not saying I didn't love you, it wasn't true love"he told her
"You can't fake what we have Adam"she was crying harder
"It's over,we are done,we have to be done"
"No Adam no I'll walk away from all this. I can't lose you"
"I already made up my mind, goodbye"Adam said and left, he closed the door behind him
He leaned up against the door and started crying himself. He could here her crying too
Victoria walked up to him
"It's all done, there is no presence here" he looked around "Or in Sally's life. Just don't be to hard on her right now. She um .. didn't take this well. She may be broken now but she won't let it effect her work here" he looked at the door "She will help grow what I started" he said as he walked away

Victoria walked into the office and saw Sally crying. Once Sally saw her she bounced out of her sadness
"What can I do for you at this hour. Or are you here to fire me"
"As much as I don't like it that you are here, you are all we have right now. So your job is fine for now, but if something happens or I find someone"
"I'm out, I get it. I have been through this before"
"Ok very well then. Have a good night"

Adam was sitting at the bar at Society when Jack walked up
"Hey I would ask how you are, but I have been through this with you before"he sat down "Victor trying to control everything and everyone"
"Ya people warned me and all I ever wanted was to be accepted and be loved by him. But sadly I'm never enough"
"I'm sorry it's happened again. I know how badly you wanted it work this time. But you have Sally, I'm sure she is helping"he said
Adam took a sip of his drink " I don't have Sally anymore Jack"
Jack was surprised by this "What happened"
" I broke it off " he said
"Adam I know how you get when you're hurt you push people away, especially the people you love"Jack said
"I don't love her Jack" Adam said them got up and walked away
He got to the door and Sally walked in
"Adam please talk to me. Okay we can sit down and talk this through"she blocked him from leaving
"There is nothing left to Sally" he said as he looked away from her
"Yes there is, this came out of no where Adam. There has to be some reason you are doing this to me and to us"she said as place her hand on his
"Sally you are a smart woman and you analyzing this break up it's not a good idea"
"What has happened to you.This isn't the man I fell in love with"
"Well I don't know who fell in love with because this is the real me. Now if you don't mind. I would like to go home"
Sally just nodded and moved aside for him. Adam walked out
Sally broke down in tears as she watched him leave
