A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"I know it's been an overwhelming situation and we threw a baby into mix"

       Sally woke up the next morning and before she remembered where she was, she bolted to the bathroom.Adam was woke up from her pushing him off her.He got out of bed and went to her.
   Adam knelt down behind her "I got you"he said rubbing circles on her back
"You don't have to be in here" she said "You don't need to see me like this Adam, I'm a big girl"
"I know" he started saying as he was moving her hair out of her face "But this is my baby that is making sick. And I told you I was going to be with every step of the way" he rested his chin on her shoulder "I meant it Sally" he whispered
Sally finally was able to stop. She fell into Adam. He started dabbing a damp wash cloth on her next
"I'm so sorry"he held her
"They all say it's worth it, right" she said
"Yes, it will be. Before you know it Nugget will be here and you'll forget how sick you were"he kissed the top of her head

They were in the kitchen, Adam handed Sally her tea
"So are you up for me showing you around, before we start making dinner"Adam asked sipping his coffee
Sally looked at him "Adam it's morning sickness, yes I feel crummy 99% of the time" she reached for his hand "But it's not gonna stop me from enjoying time with you" she smiled
"Alright let's go" he stood up and reached for her hand

Sally and Adam's arms were linked together as he was showing her the land
"So this where all my adventures happened" he said, he pointed "There used to be a tree house there"he looked at her "Maybe I should build one for Connor and Nugget"
She rested her head on his shoulder "I'm sure they'll love it"
She looked at the barn"Is that where the cows live"she got excited
"Yes" he laughed "Wanna go see them"
She smiled and nodded
They walked in and saw the caretaker
"Hello Mr Newman"he greeted
"Hello Harold, nice to see you again" he said. Adam turned and put his arm around Sally's back "Harold this is my girlfriend Sally" he smiled
"Nice to meet you Sally" he smiled
"You too" she shook his hand
"So Harold how are the cows doing"Adam asked
"They are doing good, I was just about to milk them"
"Allow me" he said and turned to Sally "Let me show you that I really know how to"he smirked
"Have at it"Harold said and walked away
Adam set everything up "Come over here and watch" he said
Sally stood behind him and watched
"How you doing ole girl" he petted her
"What's her name"Sally asked
"Mazzie"he said. He looked at her "Want to try"he asked
Sally shook her head "I don't know Adam, I'm a city girl"
Adam put his hand on her back and pulled her closer "Come on it's easy"
Adam brought her to sit in front of him "You hold here and here, and gently squeeze" he said as he helped guide her
"Wow"Sally was amazed
"See, told you" he leaned into her "It is also good if you talk to her, it relaxes her" he told her
"Really"she questioned
"Yes" he whispered
"Okay" she looked at Mazzie "Hello,Mazzie I'm Sally how is it going"she chuckled "It's probably not going good because a stranger is milking you"
Adam laughed "She is used to it"he told her
"You if this was sculpting and not milking a cow. This moment would be like Ghost"she said and laid her head back and looked up at him
"Are you saying this kind of thing turns you on"he asked as he rested his lips on her cheek
"Not exactly,but this side of you is new to me" she kissed him
Sally stopped and turned around,Adam kissed her
"This was fun" she said when they pulled away
"You ready to go bake a pie" he asked
"Yes I am" she smiled

Later they were making dinner. Sally was sitting on the counter watching Adam cook
"Adam, is weird do you miss this life" she asked
Adam looked at her "Sometimes. It was a lot work on the farm. But it's freeing. No worrying, no competing for love"
"Do you think if you didn't have Connor you would move back"
"I thought about it" he came over to her "Why are you asking"he asked
"I was just curious you know. Thinking of what kind of life I want to give the baby"
Adam smiled and ran his hand up her legs "We are going to give Nugget the best life. No matter where we live"he told her
"How is dinner coming" she looked over at the stove
"It's coming along" he said "We need to finish the pie. You ready"he asked
Sally clapped her hands "Show me, show me how you make this master piece" she jumped down

Adam showed her step by step. Sally was standing next to him watching him with a big smile on her face. He looked over at her
"Hey you are supposed to be watching how to make this, not me"
"I'm sorry I can't help it when the chef is so ...hot"
Adam leaned down to her " I'll tell you what, if you finish watching make this dessert.After dinner I'll give you the other dessert"
Sally leaned in "Is that at promise Mr. Newman"
"Yes"he kissed her lips "And please no more Mr Newman"he chuckled

Sally was setting the table when Adam's phone rang
"Adam, Connor is FaceTiming you" she yelled for him
Adam came out of the kitchen "Thanks, I'll take it outside" he said as went to the glass doors
Sally looked hurt as he walked out
Adam answered "Happy Thanksgiving Connor"
"Hey Dad, Happy Thanksgiving. Where are you"he asked
"Oh I just took a quick trip to the farm"he told him
"Oh cool , maybe next time I can come" Connor suggested
"Deal, so are things. You having fun" he asked
"Ya, Mom and Grandma are cooking so I'm playing video games until dinner"
"Well I love you Connor"Adam said
"I love you too" Connor said
Adam hung up and went back inside

Adam found Sally on the couch curled up with a pillow
"Hey, what's wrong"he asked as he came over to her
"I know we can't say anything yet. But you hiding me from Connor just now hurt a little"
Adam sat down and put his arm around her "I'm sorry, you know I didn't do to hurt you. I don't want to bring him in on a secret"
"I know" she wiped her tears away "We are just keeping secret from him"
"Sally once he knows we are "back together" he isn't going to care it was a secret. Hey he won't know it was a secret"
Sally looked at him "And what is he going to think about Nugget"she asked
"He will be so excited he'll be a big brother"he kissed her cheek
Adam held her tighter "I know it's been an overwhelming situation and we threw a baby into mix" he chuckled
"I just don't want him to hate me" she said softly
"He won't" he told her "Come on let's go eat"

They were in the middle of eating
"Adam are we really celebrating a holiday"Sally asked in shock
Adam smiled "No we are just having dinner on Thursday" he laughed
"Even though we aren't celebrating the holiday, I really am extremely thankful to have you" she said
Adam smiled and took her hand "I'm so thankful for you too"
"And Nugget is thankful to have you" she smiled
"I have something for you" he told her as he got up to grab something
"Really, it's not Christmas"she was confused
"Yes, I already told how thankful I am for you.But I really am lucky to have you in life and even though this chapter in our love story is a bit challenging it's a really special one because our love for each other is growing stronger. And yes we jumped a step with a baby on the way. I would love it if you would complete this step with me" he got up and got down on one knee "Become my wife,marry me Sally"
