A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"What, do you not want to marry me anymore"

    It was the morning of Hadley's doctors appointment. Grams was staying in town a few more days,she was gonna watch Mazie, so Adam and Sally could concentrate on Haddie
     "You be a be a good girl for Grams, while Mommy and Daddy are with Sissy"Adam was talking to Mazie
"Oh don't you worry she's gonna be fine"Shirley said
Sally came over and kissed Mazie "Mommy loves you"she said
"Ready"Adam said picking up Hadley
"Yes, we'll be back soon"

On the way there,Sally kept looking back at Hadley. Adam noticed she seemed nervous
"She's gonna be okay" he told her
"I know, it's not that I just realized this is the first time we have been with only one of them. It's weird"she said
Adam took her hand "It is, imagine how weird it is for her"
"I don't like it" Sally chuckled
"We will be back soon"

They were in the doctors office, Sally was cuddling with Hadley, while Adam was pacing
"You doing okay"she asked
"Ya"he gave her a small smile "Just ready to find out how to help her"he told her as he was stroking Haddie's cheek
"This can't be easy for you, doing this again"
"Hey"he sat down next to her "I'm not gonna lie and say it is, but with Connor a lot happened, and for him to see someone had to die" he took Sally's hand "This might not be what we think it is, but knowing we could potentially be going down that road again"he said looking at Hadley
"It's gonna bring things up for you,and if does I'm here"she smiled
Just then the doctor came in
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Newman" she greeted them
"Actually.."Adam went to correct her
"Adam it's okay" she said quietly
"I'm Dr. Brown and this must be Hadley"she smiled at her "Hello sweetheart
She sat down "So I went over your paperwork here, saw your history Mr Newman so we will test her for that. When did you notice the issue with Hadley"she asked
"Last week I noticed something, she wasn't focusing on me like her twin sister. And knowing Adam's history I got worried"Sally looked at Hadley
The doctor smiled "That is what I'm here for" she said
"Question, would we need to have her sister tested"Adam asked
"Let's test Hadley first and If you notice the same signs with her then we will go from there"she told him
They both nodded
"Why, don't you place Hadley on the table here and we will get started"
Sally carefully placed Hadley down "It's okay Bean, she's gonna figure what's going on"Sally told her stroking her face
"Now Sally, you can stay near her so she doesn't get scared"

After a few minutes Emily finished up
"You did so good" she told Haddie
"She takes after her Daddy"Sally smile at Adam
"Now based on all the tests, I did notice she does have some vision issues, but she did react to some things"
"So that means.. "Adam started saying
"Based on that it doesn't look like she has the disease"she told him "She does have a couple issues"
"Which are"Sally asked
"Hadley seems to be farsighted"she told her
"Which means what exactly"Sally asked
"She has trouble seeing things close to her"she said
"Like us right now"Adam said
"Correct, for her right now we are all blurry to her"she said
"Okay, so how do we we help her"Sally asked
"It's simple, glasses"she smiled "Once we get those she'll be able to see the world"
"How soon can we get those"Adam asked
"Probably in a couple weeks, we will back an appointment to figure out what strength she needs, will order them"
"Sounds good"Sally said

They were in the car, Sally was sitting in the back with Hadley staring at her
"I'm sitting with her, knowing she can't see me, I'm probably this blob to her"Sally said
Adam looked at her through the mirror "She'll see you soon"he smiled
"All this time as I was feeding her she couldn't see, so was she even bonding with me"she said getting a little worked up
"Sally, just because she struggles to see you doesn't mean she wasn't bonding with you. Your voice, your heartbeat that is how she knows your her Mommy"
"Can you pull over"Sally asked
"Ya,is she okay" he asked
"She's fine, it's me I need you" she started crying
"Okay" he quickly pulled over. He turned to face her
"I'm sorry" she said looking at Hadley
He took her hand "It's okay,it's a lot I know"he said
"It could have been worse, I know" she said
"It's doesn't make it any less scary"he told her"Sal, look at me"he said
She did as tears fell
"Hadley is okay, yes everything right now is blurry for her, but we are getting her what she needs"
Sally nodded then lean in to hug him "I love you"she said
"I love you more"he said as he held her tight
They pulled away after a few minutes
"Come on, let's get her home with her Sissy, so I can hold all my girls"he said stroking her cheek
"Okay"she said softly
Adam drove the rest of the way holding Sally's hand

As Sally was with the girls, Adam was in the kitchen with Shirley telling her everything that happened
"Is she okay"she asked
"It's a lot to take in, but she's okay. I have a favor to ask you"Adam said
"Anything what is it"
"If it's not to much trouble could you watch the girls for a few hours. I want to take Sally out. We haven't had alone time since..."
"I would love to, and it's good to spend time together
Adam nodded and smiled

Adam walked in their room as Sally was finishing up getting ready
"You look beautiful"he said smiling
"Stop, I still have this baby weight"she groaned
"You are beautiful to me"he kissed her "You ready to go"he asked
"Yes, I still can't believe you asked Grams to watch the girls"
"She's happy to, besides we need time alone"
Sally smiled at him

  They were finishing up dinner, Adam had one more bite left
"Here, I know it's your favorite"he said as he reached over to feed her
Sally giggled and ate it "Thanks, it felt good to eat a meal without a baby attached to me"
"I'm glad"he laughed
"So about the wedding"she said
"What,do you not want to marry me anymore"he said sounded hurt
Sally threw her napkin at him "No of course I want to marry you. I know I suggested fall ish, but what about a beach or something"she said
"I can see that" he said
"Or in the country" she suggested
"When you picture yourself getting married, what comes to mind for you"he asked
"Like in what" she asked
"Anything, the flowers, your dress"
"Sunflowers"she said
"Sunflowers I like those"he smiled
"Adam, would you like to dance with me"she asked out of the blue
"With you,always"he got up and took Sally's hand

As they were were swaying back and forth. Sally laid her head on Adam's shoulder
"I know the girls are in good hands but.." she started saying
"You miss them"Adam said
Sally looked up at him "Don't you" she asked
"Of course I do, but spending time with just their Mommy was needed, especially after today"he told her
"Thank you" she said
"For what"he said softly
For being my rock today, I know it wasn't going to be easy but"
"You don't need to thank me, it's part of my job of loving you" he said caressing her cheek
"I do love you"she kissed his lips softly
Adam smiled while they were kissing
"What time did you tell Grams we would be home"she asked
"She told me to come back whenever, why"he asked
Sally smiled and took his hand

Sally got them a room, she opened the door and he followed
Sally pulled him into her
"Sally"Adam said leaning his forehead against hers
"We can do one of two things"she said starting to remove his clothes "We could do one thing we are are really good at and the other we both love and funny enough we haven't been able to do either in weeks"she said kissing his neck
"I love both those options but is it okay to" he asked pulling her away
"Oh ya I got the all clear last week" she smirked at him

Adam and Sally were wrapped up in each other's arms peacefully sleeping for the first time in weeks
