A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"Adam, she doesn't know does she"

   The next morning Adam and Connor were eating breakfast, Connor barely said anything to Adam
"Con, I want to say again how sorry I am for missing you event yesterday"
"It's fine"Connor said shrugging his shoulders
"I'm gonna make it up to you I promise"
Connor just continued to eat his cereal
Sally entered the kitchen holding Mazie
"Morning"Adam said, then he looked at Mazie who was clinging to Sally "Is she okay, it's not like her to be up that's always Haddie"
Sally looked at her "She was fussy and I didn't want her to wake up Haddie"
Adam reached for her "Here let me take her"
Sally handed her over to Adam and she immediately cuddles into his arms
"Morning Connor"she said rubbing his shoulder then went over and hit her coffee "Look I might stay home with her today"she told him
"Oh okay"he said rubbing Mazie's back
"Ya, with Mazie not acting like herself I'd feel more comfortable keeping her home incase she is sick"
"I agree" he said kissing Mazie's head "Alright Connor go get your stuff, I'll drop you off at Moms before work"
Connor didn't answer him, he got up and put his bowl in the sink and ran off
Sally looked confused "Is he okay"she asked
"He is still mad at me for missing his thing. It's not a big deal"
Sally nodded sipping her coffee "Okay I'll go get Hadley ready for you, you got Mazie"she asked
"Ya I got her"Adam said softly
Sally came over and kissed Adam before leaving
Adam pulled Mazie into him more "Daddy's got you" he said
Just then Adam's phone rang, he groaned when he saw who was calling "Please don't call me, I said everything I needed to say to you yesterday"
"Well I never asked for you, I asked for my daughter"
Adam rolled his eyes "She's not your daughter, she's just someone you gave birth to, thanks for that by the way. But if you reach out again you'll be arrested" he told her
"For what"Helen asked
"Harassment"he told her
Mazie started crying
"Is that my grand baby"she asked
"No"he hung up, he looked down at Mazie "I'm sorry Mazie Moo you probably could sense Daddy's stress
Connor and Sally came back down, she saw Mazie upset
"Is she okay"she was concerned
"Ya"he told her
Sally looked at Connor "Con can you hold  Haddie for me so I can get Mazie from your Dad"
Connor carefully took Hadley
Sally came up to Adam and took Mazie "Oh come to Mommy Mazie Moo"she said as she came into her arms "Are you upset Daddy's got to go"
Adam got up and took Hadley from Connor
"You ready to go"he asked Connor
"Bye Sally, Hope Mazie feels better"he said going to  the door
"Call me if anything changes with her"he told Sally

Adam dropped off Connor, Chelsea answered the door
"Hey guys"she hugged Connor "Did you have fun"
"Ya, can I go play video games"he asked
"Sure"she told him
"I'll pick you up on Friday"Adam hollered as Connor left the room
Chelsea smiled at Hadley "Hello sweet girl"
Adam looked at Chelsea "He is still mad at me about yesterday"
"He is at that age Adam, but I got to say it's not like to miss something of Connor's" she told him
"I know, I'm trying to do the right thing"he looked at Hadley "For everyone"
"Adam what's going on" Chelsea asked
"How long do you have"he chuckled
Adam walked into the house, he looked over in the direction of Connor's room before sitting down
Chelsea sat down next to him "What's going on"she asked
Adam looked at Hadley "You know a little bit about Sally's family, right" he asked
"Ya, some.. is her grandma alright"she asked in concerned
"No she is fine, this has to do with her mother"
"Sally's mom, I thought she wasn't in the picture"she said
"She isn't until recently. You see she sent Sally this letter asking to make amends"
"Oh wow, how did Sally take it"she asked
Adam didn't answer he just looked down
"Adam, she doesn't know does she" she asked
"Chelsea you didn't see how Sally was when the girls were born. She has the missing part of her she was a mess"he said
Chelsea smiled at Hadley her was looking at her "Of course she would be Adam"
"So I reached out to her, Sally's mom. I wanted to see first how she was before I put Sally through this"
"Adam I know your instinct  is to protect us from getting hurt, but this should be Sally's call. You need to tell her before she finds out from somewhere else"
"I don't want her to get hurt"he said
"I know, but the good thing is you'll be there for her if she does"she told him

Sally was laying on the couch, Mazie was laying on her legs she was smiling at her
"I'm sorry you're not feeling great Mazie Moo"she rubbed her cheek "But I love spending one on one  time with you"she pulled onto her chest so Mazie could cuddle her "Hopefully sissy doesn't get whatever you have"she rubbed her back "We have a big day coming up" she said softly
Sallys phone rang, she carefully reached for it not to disturb Mazie. She saw it was the office, she smiled
"Adam don't worry, Mazie is fine" she looked at her Mazie was drifting off to sleep "She may have a new favorite cuddle buddy though"she giggled
"Sally it's Chloe"
"Oh sorry I thought it was"
"It's okay, I'm actually calling because of Adam. We were supposed to start training Audra and he isn't here"
Sally got worried and sat up a little "Is he okay. Maybe he had a last minute meeting" she suggested
"I thought that too, but Sally I don't mean to worry you but Hadley isn't here either"she informed her
Sally started to panic "I got to go , please call if he shows up" she said she quickly hung up
Sally got up and placed Mazie down which caused her to stir and start crying
"I know baby, Mommy needs to find Daddy"she told her
Sally dialed Adam's cell, he picked up on the third ring
"Hello"he said
"Where have you been, Chloe has been trying to reach you, she said you weren't at work and neither was our daughter"she said in a serious tone
"Sally I'm fine we both are fine" he told her
"Okay, so where are you"she asked
"At Chelsea's we got to talking"he said
Sally rubbed her forehead she didn't have time for this "Fine, Chloe is looking for you so you can help with Audra, so I think you should get to work"she didn't mean to sound so annoyed
"Alright,I love you" he told her
Sally sighed "I love you too"

Adam hung up the phone "I better go"he said
"Adam think about what I said, telling Sally"
"I will, thanks for listening"he smiled he look at Hadley "Say bye bye to Chelsea
Chelsea smiled and waved "I know you think not telling her is protecting her, that  you don't her to hurt like you did. Just be there for her the way you always been"
Adam nodded

It was later in the day Adam came him to find Sally standing in the shower with Mazie as the steam surrounded them
"What's going on" he got worried
"She's been so fussy  all day, if I wasn't holding her. I tried everything and the only thing that seemed to help is this"Sally sounded so defeated
"I told you to call me if anything changed"
"Nothing changed"she said
"Here let me take her" he said taking her
Sally rubbed her face "Where's Hadley"she asked
"In her room, go see. I'll take over" he kissed her forehead

Adam came into the girls room with a sleeping Mazie in his arms. He found Sally with Hadley
"She's fast asleep" he said placing her in her crib
Sally came over and placed Hadley in hers
"Maybe we should take her to the doctors"he said
Sally looked at Mazie and rubbed her forehead "Sounds good"
Adam went to wrap his arm around her waist. Sally pulled away
"Sal, what's going on"
"I don't have the energy right now"she said leaving the room
Leaving Adam puzzled
