A Love Like Ours Never Ends

    The next morning Adam was getting ready,Sally was in the shower. Adam started getting the girls dressed
"Daddy has to take care of something this morning and he doesn't know if it's the right choice"he told Mazie "All I know is I'm doing it for Mommy and for you and Haddie"
Connor came in "Morning Dad"
"Hi Connor, did you sleep well"he asked
"Yes, I can't wait for camp today"he said
"Oh and why is that"he asked putting Haddie's dress on
"We are going to do this obstacle course with all these different challenges"he said all excited
"Sounds fun"Adam told him
"Some of the parents are coming to watch, do you think you can"
"Sure I'd love too, just text me the time and I'll be there"

Adam and Sally were working, when Adam's phone went off, he looked at the text
"I'm waiting in the lobby"
Sally noticed Adam grabbing his keys "Everything okay"she asked
"Oh ya , Connor texted me the time for his thing at camp I gotta go"he lied
"Okay have fun and tell Connor I love him"she smiled
"Will do" he said leaving without giving her a kiss goodbye

Adam entered the lobby and scanned the room then he saw who he was looking for.There sitting in a chair was an older woman with dirty blonde hair, without ever seeing this person before he could tell who she was
Adam walked over to her "Helen" he said getting her attention
She looked over at him "You must be Adam"she said
Adam nodded and sat in the chair across from her
"You must have a lot questions for me"she said
"I do, but I only care are about one" he said fixing his jacket "Why now"he leaned in
"What"she asked
"You had her whole life , why come back now"he asked
"She's my daughter"she said
"Okay, was she your daughter when a building collapsed on her, was she your daughter when her business failed,or is she only daughter now bc she's had money, money you wished you had"
Helen just stared at him
"You see Helen, I read the letter you sent her, you said some really nice things, things I know she has been waiting to hear, but I know deep down you don't mean it"
"Excuse me" she was getting pissed
"You see I know people like you, you say all the right things to get close to them and use them for something"
"How do you know this"she asked
"Because sadly I used to be like you, until I met your daughter. Sally is extraordinary you missed out"he told her
"That's why I wrote her to make amends"she told her "So why can't I meet with her"
"A few months she would have,but you can't right now"
"Why is that if she's always wished for this"
"I'm aware Helen, but before you show up back in her life I need to make sure it's right"
"You don't get to call the shots Mr. Newman"
"I do when a part of me senses trouble and you have trouble writing all over you and in that letter. And I don't want you anywhere near the people I love"he got up and left

Sally was working when there was a knock on the door
"Come in"she hollered
A young woman walked in
"Hello are you Sally Spectra"she asked
"Yes, and you are"she smiled
"I'm Audra Charles" she walked over to shake her hand "Chloe Mitchell sent me over"
"Oh that's right, she suggested you as her replacement"
"Is this a bad time "Audra asked
"No, take a seat let's chat"Sally gestured to the couch and went over to it
Audra sat down
"So how long have you worked in fashion and  advertising"
"Fashion not long but I went to school for advertising"
Sally nodded
"Well if Chloe believes you'd be a good fit to N+S Entertainment you must be good"
"I promise I'm a hard worker"she told Sally
"Well let me look over you resume and I'll give you a call soon"
Audra smiled and thanked her

Adam was sitting in his car processing everything when his phone rang
"Hey, Chels what's up" he asked
"Where are you"she asked him
"Why what's wrong"he said
"Connor called and said you never showed up at the camp"she told him
"Damn it" he said as it hit him "I'll go now" he said as he hung up

Connor came over to the car, Adam could tell he was mad at him with good reason. He opened the door
"Con I'm so sorry"
"Whatever it was a stupid thing anyway"he told him
"You want to go get pizza"he offered
"No let's just go home"he said sounding annoyed

Adam and Connor walked into the house, Connor slammed his backpack on the ground and stormed up to his room, just as Sally came into the foyer
"What was that about" she asked looked up in the direction of him room
"He is upset I missed his thing today"he told her walking into the other room
Sally followed him "Missed it, but you left work to go to it, that's where you told me you were headed" she said
"I was taking care of something real quick and I lost track of time"he kissed her cheek "I'll make it up to him some how"
Sally looked at him and Adam knew that look
"Where were Adam"she crossed her arms
"Not important, it was something with work "
"It clearly was Adam for you to miss something involving your son" she was getting annoyed
"Sally it's nothing to get mad about, don't worry. Now where are my beautiful daughters"
Sally gestured to the living room where Mazie and Hadley were " I'll go check on Connor" she said heading upstairs

Sally knocked on the door
"Con, it's me can I come in" she asked softly
"Sure, it's your house" he said
Sally walked in and saw him reading
"True this is my house with your dad, but" she said in his bed "This your room"she smiled "Your Dad told me what happened today, he so sorry"
Connor looked at Sally "Do you know why he didn't come"he asked
"He said something to do with work"she told him as she placed her hand on his knee "But for him to miss something of yours must have been important" she repeated to Connor as she said to Adam
"I guess"Connor shrugged
"You hungry, I'll make anything you want"she smiled
Connor shook his head
"Okay , if you change your mind just come down okay"
Connor nodded then went back to reading

Sally came back down and saw Adam in the kitchen feeding the girls. Sally leaned against the door frame
Adam looked over "So how was your day"he asked
Sally crossed her arms "Good, I met the woman Chloe suggested to replace her. She seems like she's gonna be a good fit"she told him
"Hmm" Sally sighed
Adam looked over "What's wrong"he asked
"You are hiding something, you better tell what it is Adam"
"I'm not Sal, I promise you"Adam said walking over to her, he pulled her into him "Can I get a kiss"he said brushing his nose again hers
Sally reluctantly gave in and lean and kissed him, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss moving them against the wall
Before they could get lost in the moment, Mazie started crying
"She always knows how to ruin a moment" Adam said giving Sally another kiss before going over to finish feeding her
