A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"I'm here to tell you, you aren't going to lose yourself."

It was Sally's first day back to work,she was in the girls room getting them ready
"So Mommy needs to have a talk with you two"she carried them to sit in the rocking chair "You two are going to be hanging out with other babies, while Mommy and Daddy work"she told them and kissed them on the head "I'm gonna miss you so much" she whispered
"So will I"Adam said standing in the doorway
Sally looked up at him "You already have been away from them" she said
"True" he said coming over to them and bent down "But doesn't mean I'm not gonna miss them" he tickled their tummies "Besides it was easier because they were home with you"he said stroking her cheek "I do love now they will be near us"
Sally had tears in her eyes, Adam looked at her
"It's gonna be fine" he told her
"I know, its just a big adjustment"she said
Adam took Maize "No one besides us has taken care them"he smiled at her
Sally stood up with Hadley "I'm sorry I'm so emotional"she said wiping her tears
"It's okay"he kissed her
"We should get going though, to give us time in case they freak out" Sally told him

To their surprise the girls handled drop off really well,Sally not so much. They entered the office and she broke down. Adam closed the door and came over to her and just held her as she cried
"It's okay, they did so good" he told her as he was rubbing circles on her back
"I know our girls are amazing. I just never thought I could feel this way"
"What way Sal"
"Empty"she whispered
Adam pulled her out of his hold so he could look at her "Sal, all these feelings are perfectly normal, I promise you once you get back into a routine it wil get easier"
Sally just nodded
Chloe came in "Oh sorry" she saw Sally "Are you okay"she asked
Sally leaned her head on Adam's shoulder
"It was a big day"Adam told her as he was rubbing Sally's arm
"Oh that's right the girls are officially in daycare, did the do good"she asked
Sally nodded "Mommy not so much
"Hey, you did so good, I'm proud of you" he kissed her head
Sally sighed "So what's up" Sally changed the subject
"I have the numbers from the latest podcast site. Are you up to go over them"
"Yep, that's why I am here right" she laughed. Sally lean up and kissed Adam "I love you"
"I love you too"he kissed her again

As Sally and Chloe were working, Chloe was fidgeting
"You okay"Sally looked over
"It's nothing to worry about right now"she told her
"Chloe, what's going on"she asked
Chloe put her tablet down "I have news to tell you and it's not really good"
"Okay I'm listening" Sally said leaning back on the couch
"Kevin got transferred"she said
"Oh no,where?"she asked
"Back to Portland"she said looking at her
"Oh, so it looks like you're leaving us"Sally said fidgeting with her papers
"Yes,but I can stay until you find a replacement"
Sally gave her a small smile
"I got to go give these things to Adam" she said leaving in a hurry

Sally was leaning against the wall looking into the window where the girls were, just watching them. One of the workers came up to her
"Hello Sally, you want to come visit them"she asked
"No" she shook her head "They seem I don't want to upset them"
"Okay, if you change your mind let me know" she told her
"Thanks"she smiled

Later on Sally was in her and Adam's office trying to concentrate. When Adam came in holding someone
"You up for a visitor" he said
Sally looked up and her eyes lite up "Hey Bean" she got all excited
"I was passing by and she said "Daddy take me to Mommy" "he said handing Hadley to Sally
"Oh she did now, Hadley you are pretty smart talking at almost five months" she kissed her "Mommy did miss you and sissy"
"I would have brought Mazie too but our girl was sleeping and you never want to wake that child" he said
They both laughed
Hadley cuddled into Sally
"Looks like she missed you too"Adam said sitting down on the desk
"They seem to be fine"she said
"You see I didn't just randomly bring Hadley, Stacey told me you came"
"Ya" Sally held Haddie close
"Sally what's on your mind" he asked
"Chloe told me she's moving because Kevin got transferred" she told him
"Oh wow"he sighed "So when is this happening" he asked
"Kevin's gonna go, and she'll stay until we find a replacement, she's already looking for me"
Adam could tell she wasn't okay "Sally talk to me, is Chloe the reason you look like you're about to cry"
"All these changes" she cried
"I know it's a lot and it seems like it's happening all at once"
"I don't know if I can do this Adam" she looked at him
"You can and you will" he took her hand "I'm here" he kissed it "What is bothering you more.. losing Chloe or"
"Losing myself" she said
Adam looked around "Okay let's go grab Mazie and go home"
"What, why"she was confused
"Because I want to take my girls home"
" Adam I'm fine, let me just take Hadley back to daycare"she went to her up
"No we are calling it day and going home"
"Okay I won't fight you l" she said

They arrived home Adam put the girls in their bouncers. Sally sat on the couch and Adam come and took her hands as he sat next to her
"Do you want to tell now why you rushed us home"
"I want to talk to you about what you said you know about losing yourself"
Sally looked down "I didn't mean to worry you" she said softly
"I know you didn't, but I'm here to tell you, you aren't going to lose yourself. The person you were before them" he looked at the girls "Evolved and that's okay"
"But I was at work and all wanted to do was be with them. Like my work wasn't bringing me joy they way it used too. So apparently I already lost that part of me"
"No you didn't, Come here"he said and pulled her into him and laid back with her on his chest
"I noticed I lost that part of me when Chloe told me her news, it felt like everything I worked for came crashing down. Like that part of Sally Spectra was over, so I went to the girls and just watched them"
"A new chapter is happening Sally, we got this."he kissed the top of her head
Sally wrapped her arms around him

Later that night Adam picked up Connor and brought him back to the house. The three of them had dinner and played games
"So you ready to help me beat your dad" Sally said
"Bring it on" he said
"Hey how is this team up fair"he opined between them
"Because with both mine and Sally's skills we are going to take you down"Connor laughed
Sally laughed
"Fine" he said setting up the game
As they were playing they were talking
"So Connor you ready for our trip"Adam asked
"Yes I can't wait"he look at Sally "Are finally marrying Dad" he asked
"Yes" Sally smiled looking at Adam
Just then Mazie started crying
"I'll be back"Adam said going to her

A few minutes Adam came back with Mazie
"Hey Mazie Moo, you are supposed to me sleeping" Sally said
"She could tell we were having fun down here and she didn't want to miss out" Adam said looking at her
"Did she tell you that, like Hadley this morning" Sally teased him
"Yes, I'm telling Sally our girls are geniuses"
Connor laughed
Sally smiled at Mazie "Daddy spoils you"she said
"No, she just knows when her big brother is here and wants to party with him" he smiled

Adam and Connor were packing up the game as Sally sat back on the couch with Mazie who was sleeping now on her chest
"I'm going to go put her to bed"she said getting up
As she passed by Adam grabbed her wrist to stop her, so he could kiss his girl goodnight
"Goodnight Mazie Moo"he said softly
Sally went upstairs
"You should probably get ready for bed too"Adam told Connor
"Alright Dad"he ran off
"Night Bud" Adam hollered
As Adam was locking up the house for the night his phone went off, he looked down at the message
"I'll agree to meet with you" it said
Just then Sally was at the top of the stairs "Everything okay"
"Ya" he said putting his phone away "Let's go to bed"he said coming up and wrapping his arm around her waist as the walk in their room
