A Love Like Ours Never Ends

"Promise me you won't get mad"

Sally was staring at Adam, who was still on one knee holding the ring
"Sally did you hear what I just asked"Adam said
"Ya..ya I did"she looked at the ring then back at Adam "I'm sorry I can't marry you Adam"she told him
Adam gave a small laugh "You're playing me right.. saying you can't then gotcha"
Sally started crying "I'm sorry, I'm not messing with you. Sorry"she ran upstairs
Adam was frozen,wondering why she turned him down. He sat at the table stared at the ring

   Adam finally went to go check on her. He found her in the room seating on the loveseat staring out the window
"Sal" he said softly
Sally turned to look at him,he could see the tears rolling down her face
"You must hate me"she said then looking back at the window
Adam walked over to her and bent down "I'm not mad at you that you said no. I'm just confused. After everything we have been through, I thought for sure you would say yes"
Sally placed her hand on his "I want to do bad but.." she looked down
"But what Sally what is it" he asked going to sit next to her "Talk to me"
"Promise me you won't get mad" she asked
"I promise" he smiled
"I feel like you only asked me to marry you because of the baby"
"What .. why would you think I only asked because of nugget" he turned to head to look at him "I asked because you I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. And I thought here would be the perfect place"he told her
"Oh my I ruined this trip for you" she started crying harder
Adam quickly pulled her into him "No no no, you did not ruin the trip. Me asking you was not why we came here. This trip was for me to show you the other side of me"he told her still holding her
Sally wrapped her arms around him tighter
"And I'm so sorry you thought I only asked because you're pregnant. That isn't me"
Sally pulled away and wiped her tears away "I guess you don't want me to say yes now"she asked
"I mean I would love it if you did. But I don't think you want this memory when you look back when I asked. You want the most romantic moment " he told her
"You have a point Adam"
Adam pulled her into a kiss. Sally laid into him
"And I don't think I could handle another secret at the moment" she said
"Oh, I didn't think of that I'm sorry I was just caught up in you"he leaned his head against hers
"I know"she ran her hand up his arm "Since I put a damper on Thanksgiving I bet you don't want that dessert" she sat up and started playing with his shirt
"You say no to my marriage proposal and think you could butter me up with sex"
"Never"she acted all offended "I remember I promised you that extra dessert before I even knew about the proposal"
Adam pulled her onto his lap "I was just kidding. I know you would never do that sort of thing"he said as he brushed his nose on her cheek
Sally went to kiss him but he stopped her
"Before we do that, you still haven't tried the pie we made"
Sally's face lite up "Oh that's right"she quickly got off him "I'll race you" she ran out
Adam laughed at her then went after her
Adam caught up to her and grabbed her causing her to giggle
"How is saying I'll race you then leaving before I even had a chance to respond" he said as he was ticking her
"Okay, okay I'm sorry"she said

They were in the kitchen, Sally was sitting on the stool. Adam came over to her with a plate he stood in front of him
"Okay close your eyes and get ready to taste the best pie in the world"he said
Sally laughed and did as she was told "Okay I'm ready"
Adam fed her a piece and smiled as he watched her eat
"How is it?"he asked
"Amazing"she moaned
Sally then picked up a piece and fed Adam
"You are one amazing baker Adam Newman"she smiled
"Well thank you Miss Spectra"he said as he was wiping her lips
Sally pulled him so he was standing in between her legs and kissed him "Now that I tried this amazing pie" she said as she started kissing his neck "Can we go to the next course"she said while removing his shirt
Sally started placing kisses on his chest "You fed me dessert" she looked up at him "Now let me feed you" she smirked at him
" Oh I like the sound of that"he cupped her face and kissed her
Sally wrapped her arms around his neck as he picked her up. Adam brought her over to the couch not breaking the kiss

They were wrapped in a blanket. Sally had her eyes closed, Adam's hand was resting on her stomach
Sally turned a little and looked up at him "What is on your mind"she asked
"You" he rested his head on his hand "This baby"
"Okay what else"she knew something was up
"Thinking of Connor"he said
Sally sat up a little "What about him"she asked
"Earlier when you got sad..."
Sally stopped him "Forget about it ,blame that on pregnancy hormones"she told him
Adam was stroking her cheek "Okay, but it got me thinking"
"Uh oh"she said
"No it's good I know you wanted to wait a little bit before we told about nugget"
"I don't want tell him in case something happens"she said
"I understand"he took her hand
"I love you for letting me process before the world knows"she said
"Hey, this may be my baby but right now you are in control I follow your lead"he kissed her shoulder "We will tell Connor everything . And I was thinking it wouldn't be right telling him we are engaged before he finds out we are back together and about a baby"
"I'm sorry again for turning you down"
Adam could see she was getting emotional "Hey it's okay I'm sorry I freaked you out"
Sally smiled

The next day they were getting ready to leave Sally was standing at the window when Adam came up behind her
"You ready to go"he asked her
"Do we have to go"she leaned back into him
"As much as I would love to stay here with you. We need to go back before anyone notices we are both gone"he kissed her head
"Just think next time we come we will have Connor and maybe nugget" she said placing her hands on his
"I can't wait" he held her tighter
"Speaking of nugget I'll be back"Sally said as she ran to the bathroom

Adam stood in the doorway waiting. Sally finally came out
"You okay"he asked as he took her hand
"Yes" she hugged him "Can't wait for this stage to be over
"Are you up to leaving right now" he asked
"You'll pull over if I need to throw up" she chuckled
"Of course" he kissed her forehead "What ever you need"

Adam was driving, Sally was on her phone
"Oh wow"she said "You'll never guess who's calling me"
"Who"he asked
"Tucker" she looked over at him
"Answer it" he told her
"Hey Tucker what can I do for you" she asked
"Are you available to talk about the next steps for the company" he asked
"I'm actually out of town heading home now. Can we meet on Monday"she asked
"Sure I'll call Adam and let him know"
"No need I'm with him"Sally realized what she just said "Oh crap" she hit her forehead
Tucker laughed "The secret is safe with me. See you both Monday"
Sally hung up "I'm sorry" she said
"It's okay he knew about us" he took her hand

They finally made it back to Genoa City. Adam took her to her hotel suite. Sally was half asleep. He walked her into the room and got her into bed
"Alright let's get my girl all tucked in" he said covering up
"Thank you" she said all sleepy
"No need to thank me" he kissed her cheek "Home sweet home" he said softly
"This isn't a home it's a hotel room. I'm gonna bring this baby home to a hotel" she said falling asleep
Adam looked at her with a sad look. He knew the baby would have a home. But it broke his heart thinking this crossed her mind.
Adam gave her her one more kiss "I love you" he whispered

Adam looked back her before leaving the room. He knew what he needed to do next. He left not realizing someone saw him
