Peter was desperately looking for a bathroom, with the moving staircases he had ended up on the wrong floor and by a door, he didn't recognise, he opened it and was glad to find a bathroom, later that evening he realised he had found the room of requirement.
He told Remus this and Remus asked him to keep it a secret for just a few days because an idea had come to his head.
On Wednesday morning near the end of October Sirius found himself being shaken awake.
"Moony, five more minutes, I have transfiguration first, Minnie loves me too much to be mad if I'm late," he mumbled into his pillow.
"We're skipping classes today, already gave Peter fake notes to hand in," Remus said.
This made Sirius more interested and he propped himself up with his elbow and grinned "Now we're talking,"
Remus rolled his eyes and return and told him to get dressed which Sirius did, Remus woke him up nearly every morning and he now realised that they had missed breakfast and the first lesson had started.
"All Moony, you let me sleep in," he smiled pulling on a black jumper that most likely wasn't his but he didn't mind.
"Hurry up will you, I don't want to get caught," Remus said as Sirius began to use a hairband he had stolen from Mary to tie his hair into a ponytail. Remus could have melted just there, whenever Sirius did this I would feel his heartbeat quicken.
"Are you ready?" Remus asked when Sirius was finally done and he nodded. Remus took his hand in his and began to lead him down the stairs and then out of the common room.
They walked up a staircase and Remus led him down a hallway and then stopped.
"Real interesting, nice wall," Sirius spoke out and then he stopped as a door appeared and Remus pushed it open.
"You coming Black?" He asked and Sirius nodded and followed him in.
Sirius was at a loss for words, there were no rooms in Hogwarts that just looked like this, it was like it had just appeared from thin air.
The room was bright, lights were hanging from the ceilings and torches were around the room it brightened the place up so there were no dark corners. The room was large but wasn't empty, an armchair sat by a roaring fire and by the foot of it were gobstones and chess, a few metres away was a picnic blanket with food on it, it was a variety of fruits and pastries and there was a vinyl player in the corner of the room playing Bowie at a soft volume.
"What is this?" Sirius asked the words finally coming to him, a smile spreading across his face.
"The room of requirement, Peter found it and I asked him to keep it a secret for a little bit so I was able to do this, it took a while to figure out how to think of a perfect thing and get the food and games, but here it is, I would like to have a date with you Sirius if that's alright," Remus replied.
Sirius flung his arms around Remus hugging him close and kissing his cheek. "Yes, of course, you're awesome Moony," he smiled.
They sat down and ate some breakfast and then changed the song on the vinyl player and then they played gobstones and by four they were asleep on the armchair. Remus had his arms curled around Sirius's waist holding him on his lap.
Sirius was so happy, it had been amazing, the fact Remus had done that all for him made his heart flutter with joy, he loved Remus so much.
A few days passed and Sirius' birthday came. James had already planned a party and by the Friday evening of his birthday, the Gryffindor common room was buzzing with music and talk.
Remus was smiling to himself in an armchair as he watched Sirius dance with James jumping up and down belting the ABBA lyrics. Regulus was sitting next to him complaining about how the volume would give him a migraine even though he was secretly enjoying it.
Then when the song ended Sirius eyed Remus and came over. "You've got to come dance moony, it's my birthday," Sirius pleaded and with one look at him Remus sighed and stood up letting Sirius take him by the hands as a new song began to play.
Sirius began to dance swaying Remus's arms from side to side until Remus got into the rhythm and seeing Sirius so happy, he joined in.
By the end of the song, he was twirling Sirius around the room as they roared with laughter it was amazing.
"I love you moony," Sirius said softly, putting his arms around Remus's neck and grinning, before Remus even had the chance to say it back Sirius' was kissing him.
They heard James' wolf whistle and began to laugh into the kiss. There were eyes on them, that was for sure, whenever they did anything there were always people watching, but they didn't care, right now it was them. Sirius and Remus. Padfoot and Moony.
The star always burnt brighter with the moon beside it, there was no doubting that. And the moon became stronger with the star close by, nothing would be able to separate them.
Unless the star broke away unless it began to shine a little less unless it darkened.
Like the sun and the star, the star was a light in the darkness, but the sun shone through the darkness, and made it all go away, but if that star darkened it would be taken by the darkness.
The moon and the sun would continue to shine, but the stars would darken, and they would make mistakes.
Sirius didn't want to lose the moon, but he didn't know how his actions could make that possible.
Regulus didn't want to lose the sun, but he was sure he would.
This last part might not make sense for the moment, but it will later on.
