"Are you a spy?" Regulus hissed immediately as they stood across from each other.

"No," Remus hissed back, trying to make his tone as bitter as Regulus' was.

"What about Sirius then, I'm rather sure my brother is helping Dumbledore and you love him," Regulus said back.

"I stopped loving Sirius the day he pulled that prank on Snape," Remus shot back and he regretted the words instantly. It was a good response it put Regulus in an uncomfortable place. But it pained Remus to say it.

Regulus was taken aback for a few moments. "All this time?" He asked and his voice didn't have the same edge as before.

"All this time," Remus repeated, he was under Regulus' skin, he was buying every word coming from his mouth.

"How long have you planned to join," Regulus asked, he seemed a bit unsure of what he should be doing so he shoved his hands in his pockets.

"As soon as I heard what the Dark Lord plans for werewolves, I want a better life, if he can give that to me then my full support is with him," Remus replied.

"Good to know," Regulus replied shortly, it was all too much to handle at once and he was trying to keep track of it. "Well, this is your room, I'll let you get settled for a bit and then I'll come to explain some things to you," Regulus told him before exiting hastily.

Remus Lupin was bad. It didn't seem right, but he was so convincing that it was all Regulus could believe, he was good at hiding this all from Sirius and James, who to say Remus wasn't as well.

"He's Remus, he's smart enough not to get into trouble wherever he is," James told Sirius after he had had another ramble about his worries, it had been two whole months since Remus had left.

"I know that Prongs but the thing is, he could die there you know, and we would never really be able to know if that happened or not," Sirius said back. Being without Remus was a hard thing to endure and he was getting worried to a point that James was now spending a lot more nights on Sirius' couch.

Two months with Fenrir and Regulus had shown a lot to Remus. Soon Regulus returned to his room joined by Barty who practically threw himself onto Remus' lap chuckling. Remus was told when meetings were and that Greyback would give him orders.

He saw Pandora and Evan and they were both pleasant to him. It was weird to think that these people around him were once people he talked to and trusted and now he had to make sure everything he did around them had no room for suspicion.

He found out the woman werewolf he had met was called Lila. She talked to him a lot and she gave him information without a second thought. He learnt that Voldemort wanted to target not just muggles but big wizarding families that would not join him. He was not pleased to know that the McKinnons may be added to that list.

His main targets were Dumbledore and the ministry and he sometimes sent the wolves out to follow ministry members but Remus was glad to find that he hadn't been ordered to hurt or kill anyone yet but there had been some close calls.

The two full moons he spent there weren't too bad either, it seemed around other wolves meant he was a lot calmer and without the use of the potion to weaken him, he was freer and only ever awoke with a couple of bruises.

He missed Sirius though. Not knowing how he was, was always something that burdened his mind.

Meetings were the most unnerving thing. They were always in different homes like the Order ones usually were but it was always the same setting. A long table in the centre of an empty room with chairs around it. Remus would sit with the werewolves, usually beside Lila and Voldemort would sit on the other end of the table and talk of plans.

Remus did have quite enough information, when the third moon and month passed he could have gone back. He knew a list of people that Voldemort wanted to target, he knew his plans for the ministry and Dumbledore and Remus could practically name half the death eaters. But he wanted to stay, to learn more and maybe just to be part of a world where he and Regulus were friends once again.

But then the fourth moon came on his fourth month there and a meeting was called later that afternoon. Voldemort did not attend this one, he would leave someone else in charge of some meetings. A man talked to them about how the Dark Lord wanted them to learn to penetrate minds, to help get information out of people.

Remus would have been calm if the man hadn't asked for someone to demonstrate but then Fenrir decided this and pulled Remus up with him. Before Remus could even pull everything together he could feel things flashing across his mind, Sirius, Dumbledore, order meetings, full moons, and that he was a spy.

When he was pulled back into reality Greyback's wand was pointed at him and his eyes were in slits. "Traitor, he's a spy," he hissed. A few people stood at this their wands raised and before Remus could do anything someone tackled him to the ground. He was being hit again and again across his body by fists and spells, he could feel the blood practically running across his face. He turned his head and looked to see Regulus, his face was pale and he was standing by his seat gripping it.

"Crucio," Fenrir yelled and the others around seemed to copy, he had to leave, and so he did apparate from where he lay.

He landed first in Whales, in a familiar field because someone had held onto him. Remus was now splinched, but he didn't have enough time he pulled himself away from the person and apparated once again.
