"No anything but that please" Remus began to plead as the other three fell into snickers. They had been given their punishment for the day before the event, Regulus had gotten trophy cleaning, Sirius had gotten re-ordering the books in the library and James had to go with the gamekeeper Hagrid to the forbidden forest to see if any centaurs were willing to talk for the care of magical creatures class with Professor Grubbyplanks.
"Lupin, these are punishments you can't ask to get out of them" McGonagall replied. Oh, she knew what she had done. James wasn't fond of the creatures in the forest, Sirius hated the library and Regulus would rather be anywhere else than looking at trophies upon trophies, but Remus' punishment seemed horrendous to Remus but hilarious to the others.
"No buts Lupin, for the next two terms you will be the commentator at the quidditch matches that's final," she said before sending them all out.
"Till bloody Easter! That's got to be at least four matches and some of them aren't even Gryffindor" Remus yelled after getting out of the office as they began their way toward the common room, none of them were glad that they were up this early on a Saturday.
"First ones next Saturday moony, Slytherin Vs Gryffindor, just say how amazing I am and how bad Reg is" Sirius grinned.
"Kill me" Remus groaned plopping in an armchair and wishing he could sink into it and never return.
"Remus, I need to talk to you" a voice squealed upon his arrival and he looked to see Lily who grabbed his arm and pulled him to the corner of the common room out of ear reach, she didn't seem to trust that much either and put a silencing charm around them.
"Remus, how do you ask someone out?" she asked. It wasn't that surprising of a question and seemed to make Remus rather curious.
"Um, don't know, a romantic gesture I guess, invite them to Hogsmeade it's in two weeks, who you talking about?" he replied.
Lily's cheeks became as red as her hair "Oh no-one, anyways anything with the Sirius situation?" She asked eyeing Sirius who was pretty much staring at the two.
"Oh yeah, we got together yesterday," Remus replied as if it was nothing.
"And you didn't tell me, I'm so happy for you" Lily grinned flinging her arms around Remus pulling him into a tight hug and kissing his cheek. Remus saw in the corner of his eyes Sirius's eyes grow dark and a bit of anger fall across his face.
"Speak of the devil, I better go over he looks like he might pick up a book and throw it at your head" Remus laughed.
Lily turned to see Sirius and laughed too "Closest he will probably get to a book, I'll see you later," she said and she undid the spell and gave a wave before walking out through the portrait hole.
Remus came over plopping himself on the couch beside Sirius. "Oh calm down you tosspot she was just happy we got together," he told Sirius, and Sirius's facial expression changed to a bit embarrassed.
Regulus smirked he was beside James on the couch beside there. "Oh you've got a jealous one, the girls have to stay away from Remus or they'll have to watch their backs" he joked.
"I don't care who you're on about but I'd fight them if they kept Remus away he seems like the only mature and sane one around here sometimes," Marlene said after just walking into the common room, plopping herself down and leaning her legs on Remus' lap. "Heard your gonna be the commentator for quidditch, tell them how much of a better beater I am than Black" she grinned.
The week was a lot calmer than usual with the three serving detentions but Remus was on edge about the upcoming match even up until the morning.
James had already dragged Peter down to breakfast while Remus began to wrap himself up in the warmest clothes he could find.
"Your gonna be fine" Sirius grinned, he wore his bright red Gryffindor kit, his broom resting beside the door. He came over and wrapped Remus' scarf around the taller boy's neck. "Just keep talking," he said planting a kiss on his cheek.
"Easy for you to say" Remus replied letting out a small laugh. Sirius rolled his eyes and the two began to walk out toward breakfast.
Soon enough Remus was beside Peter walking towards the commentary box, the early December wind already making his nose and cheeks burn red from the cold.
Remus said a soft goodbye to Peter where he went to join Lily and Mary and Remus walked towards his destination. McGonagall sat right beside the box as she always did, she gave him a smile that he almost thought was a smirk as he sat down.
The stands began to fill full of the bright colors of Red, Gold, Green, and Silver, and then the players arrived and Remus knew it was time.
McGonagall nudged him and he began to speak.
"The Gryffindor and Slytherin teams have now started to enter the pitch for their first match of the year" he spoke, the sound of his voice echoing around.
"The two captains are shaking hands now, this is Frank Longbottoms last year at Hogwarts, so his last year as Gryffindors captain, Potter has been hoping to get that role since birth," Remus said without realizing but he heard laughs erupt around.
"The players are now taking the positions, and there the bludgers are released, now the quaffle and finally the snitch, now they're off!" Remus spoke, this wasn't as hard as he thought it would be, he just had to say what he was seeing.
"Slytherin is in possession of the quaffle and there goes their chaser going in for a score, ha! Blocked by Gryffindor keeper suck on that"
"Mr. Lupin!"
"Sorry professor, anyways Slytherin seeker black seems to not have any eyes on the snitch and neither does the Gryffindor seeker, can't Gryffindor win this already I need a party"
