6. Mission

Your PoV

I woke up as I heard my alarm is ringing. It's Saturday, and just like what has been planned, I am spending my half day with my mom.

If you're ever wondering what is like being a student of school where your mother is the principal, well it's totally normal.

Mom and I act like the usual student and principal whenever we are in school. But when time is over, she's my mom again.

I grew up and had my memories in this place already. And I am totally cool with it. Especially that I am with my mother.

After I fixed my bed, I get my towel and walked in the bathroom to get a quick shower.

But as soon as I turned the knob, I saw a girl covered with bathrobe which made me immediately closed the door.

"Hey!" I heard my roommate yelled.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!"

She walked out of the bathroom glaring at me as if she's planning to end me later on.

"You took the idea of being the only one in this room seriously. Don't you know how to knock?" She said obviously not having it.

"Hey, hey, good morning to every single organism in this room. Except you, not having one. Sorry, okay? I didn't mean to." I said.

"Besides, I didn't saw anything." I added.

She hissed and walked to her closet. I just ignored her and walked in the bathroom.

"What's wrong with her? It's early in the morning." I hissed.

I took a shower and after that, I wore my clothes and walked out of the bathroom.

I saw Tzuyu on her table, reading something else.

"Don't you have plans to go out?" I asked but received no response.

I sat on my table where my things. I brushed my hair, did some routine and all done!

"I know I should act like it's just me in this room. But I just want to tell you that I'm gonna head out. I'll be back after lunch. Enjoy your day!" I said before closing the door.

I didn't wait for her to reply since I know she won't.

"Y/N!" Momo screamed as she ran towards me.

"Good morning!"

"Same to you, are you going to meet Ms. Hong now?" She asked.

"Yup, we'll eat breakfast together and then go to our planned activities." I said.

"Oh... Sometimes I envy you because you can be with your mom anytime." She said while we are walking.

"It's weekend. I'm sure your parents will be out there later." I said.

Every weekend, parents are allowed to see their daughter and son of course. There's a specific place where they can met. But it's a bit out of the school. Still belong inside the gate tho, you know what I mean?

"Yeah. Anyway, I should go. Your mom's probably waiting for you." She said.

I walked in the school to go to mom's office. I knocked first before walking in. I saw her standing in front of her window.

"Hi mom." I said and walked beside her.

You can clearly see the school field in here. The other students on their way to meet their parents and some students who are walking around.

"You had a good sleep?" Mom asked as she averted her gaze outside the school to me.

"Yes, it's always been the same."

She walked in her tea table and I followed her. Giving me a cup of tea and also a serving of something to eat.

"Good, how's your new roommate?"

"She's good. But I don't think she likes me. I mean, she's not a talker, I understand. But she said she won't befriend me because I am the principal's daughter and president of the student council." I said honestly.

If anyone has to know everything that is happening to me, it's my mom. It's not like she's forcing me to tell how my day went. It's more like, I tell her what happened throughout my day.

"Oh, that's unexpected." Mom said and chuckled.

"The first time I saw her, I knew she's totally opposite of me, mom. But I never thought she's like that." I said.

I am not trying to say bad things about Tzuyu to my mom. It just came out naturally and my mom totally understand it.

She chuckled, shaking her head.

"Well at least you know that not everyone is like you. People are built different, my daughter. But despite of it, they will find a way to connect to each other." Mom said.

I know what mom is trying to point. And I know why she's telling it to me.

"Anyway, mom. May I ask why did you accept Tzuyu in here? I mean, the class already started. We don't really accept enrollees after admission?" I asked.

"I know."

"And also... I don't see any special with her. Is she—"

"That's your mission." Mom said which made me frown.

"I accepted her because her late grandfather is one of the founder of this school. I am actually surprised that they just enrolled Tzuyu here."

"Wait, really? Tzuyu didn't mention about it."

"Maybe she doesn't know... Her parents didn't. They said that Mrs. Chou, the mother of Tzuyu's dad was the one who referred this school."

"You mean the wife of her late grandfather?" I asked.

"Exactly."

"What do you want me to do then?" I asked.

"Know what she can and can not do. How she do it." Mom shortly said.

"Why?"

"You know this school prohibits using students' abilities unless the time has come. Which is the anuual check of abilities. But that is months away from now."

Right, because this is not a normal school. Many years ago, my grandfather, including his colleagues discovered that people were starting to have abilities that is different from the normal people.

The government knows this. But they don't want to eliminate people who have this kind of abilities. They weren't normal. And I belong with them.

This school was built for people within our age who have these kinds of power. For us to control and be able to get along with normal ones someday.
