54. Meet Her

"Yes, Mr. Chou, Tzuyu is coming," Y/N said with a smile as she ended the call.

"What, was that my father? Why would you do that?" Tzuyu asked as she jumped out of her bed after she heard Y/N call her father.

"He said he wants to see you. He's in the parents' hall." Y/N said who's completely unaware of Tzuyu's reaction.

"I know and I don't care. Why would you say I'm coming? I won't, Y/N." Tzuyu said.

"But it's your fathe—"

"Y/N, please. If you want to be as good as friends, then stop pushing me to my dad. You knew my situation, why are you doing this?" Tzuyu asked who was now up with her voice.

This time, Y/N is aware of what she has done. Seeing the expression from Tzuyu, she's not happy or excited.

"I just want you to talk to your dad... I'm sorry, I know your situation with your dad, but I didn't consider it. I was wrong." Y/N said sincerely.

Tzuyu soften and sighed as she say on her bed.

"What are we going to do now? I told your dad you're coming." Y/N asked.

"What else, I have to meet him." Tzuyu sighed once again. She left her bed and about to go out when she felt a hand on her wrist stopped her.

"Can I come? Just in case? Besides it's my fault that you have to meet your dad." Y/N asked genuinely, looking at the latter's eyes which made her avert again.

"Okay, that's much better."

"That's what I thought." Y/N giggled as she clung her arm on Tzuyu and they headed out of their dorm.

"What do you think your dad and you are gonna talk about? He sounded serious when I talked to him " Y/N asked as she looked at Tzuyu.

"I don't know, maybe he'll remind me that I am not part of the family anymore," Tzuyu said which made Y/N beat her.

"Yah, don't think negatively. Maybe there's something more. Don't worry, I got you, I won't leave you right there."

"You can't promise that. What if Dad asked you to leave us?" Tzuyu asked as she stopped and partly made a space between her and Y/N.

"Psh, you're underestimating me huh."

Not so long they got in the place. Tzuyu saw her dad not so far.

"That's him," Tzuyu said and they walked.

Tzuyu walked first while Y/N followed her behind. As they got there, Tzuyu greeted his dad same goes for Y/N.

"Good day, Mr. Chou, it's nice to see you again," Y/N said to Tzuyu's father.

"Thank you for escorting my daughter here, Y/N. I see you've been a good roommate to her. You can leave us now."

"Don't mention it, Mr. Chou. I got my friend all covered. And... I'm actually not leaving until the end of your talk. If you want, I'll give you a little space, I'll be on the next table." Y/N said innocently as she glanced at Tzuyu.

"Oh, you don't need to do that."

"I actually do, Mr. Chou," Y/N said which made Tzuyu smile in her thought.

Tzuyu's father looked at Tzuyu as if he was waiting for her to talk. But then he gave up and just sat, while Y/N sat at the next table.

"So where's mom? I mean, your wife." Tzuyu asked.

"Forget it, I'm not here for that." Her father said as if waiting for something.

"Oh, you're not? What brought you here?"

Tzuyu looked at the other table and saw Y/N looking at her. As they had contact, Y/N smiled cheekily and put her thumbs up to cheer the latter.

"Someone wants to see you."

Not so long, a figure approached them. An old lady, standing behind Tzuyu's father. On her stand, she looks like someone who is a high-profile person.

Y/N didn't miss that moment. Her eyes were stuck on that lady who was looking at Tzuyu with a smile.

"Who are you?"

"You just look like her. Nice to finally meet you, my granddaughter." The lady said which made Y/N and Tzuyu's question in mind solved.

"She's your grandmother, Tzuyu. My mother." Her father said as he left his seat to offer to the old lady.

"You are—"

"I'm happy to see you're enjoying your days here in this school. But that won't happen with also the help of your friend." Her grandmother said and looked in Y/N's direction.

As they looked at each other, Y/N snapped back and stood out of her seat. She walked to them and greeted Tzuyu's grandmother.

"It's nice to meet you, Tzuyu's grandma. I am Hong Y/N, Tzuyu's friend and also roommate." Y/N said with excitement in her eyes.

Tzuyu's grandma laughed at Y/N's energy and glanced at Tzuyu.

"Of course, I know how you are. You're the principal's daughter. I'm happy that you're my grandchild's roommate. You give a 'friend who always got her friend's back' vibe." She said and giggled.

Suddenly the atmosphere changed from being tight to open space.

"Why don't you sit with us? Did you have breakfast already?"

"We haven't, but we'll have one after this, Mrs—"

"Just granny, after all, you're Tzuyu's friend. My grandchild's friend is also my grandchild."

"Oh and Sejun, go get the food I got for my granddaughter, I don't want her to think that I went here empty-handed for our first meeting." Tzuyu's grandmother said to her father.

As Tzuyu's father left, Y/N and Tzuyu's grandmother was the one who are having conversations while Tzuyu is still confused.

"Tzuyu, why are you so quiet?"

"Oh, she's really like that. The first time we met, she barely say a word to me." Y/N butted in which made Tzuyu look at her.

"But she's nice. The best roommate I ever had."

"You never had a roommate until I came," Tzuyu said.

"See, she's speaking. She knows how to." Y/N said which made Tzuyu's grandma laugh.

"Oh dear, you're so funny."

"But granny, if you don't mind. Why did Tzuyu just see you now? If that's a family matter, you can just not tell me." Y/N asked.

"You're really nosy, I regret I brought you here," Tzuyu said to Y/N.

Y/N just shrugged and looked at Tzuyu's grandma. She knows that it's not her business, but the energy that the granma is giving is light, unlike Tzuyu's father who's secretive.

"Well, let's just say yes it is a family matter. But I'm glad I can now see her. Your father told me that he already told you the truth."

"Well, he had no choice." Tzuyu blunted.

"Tzuyu, dear, I know it's been a mess for you after knowing this truth, but know that you're still my granddaughter. You are the daughter of my son."

"To tell you honestly, everything after the truth just made more sense to me. Before, I've been asking myself why they have to treat me like an outsider when they are my family. But then after the truth, everything went clear. So I don't see myself connecting any relation to my father's family. Not when everything is clear now." Tzuyu said and left.
