87. Here Outside

Tzuyu's PoV

We're still here in the room, at my desk, I was sitting on my chair while Y/N is sitting on my lap.

I don't really know how long we are in this position. Y/N is busy scribbling on my notebook whle I just watch her.

"When I was a kid, I used to draw. I lost it when I realized I need to focus more in academics. To make mom proud." She said as she glanced to me.

"Can't you do it at the same time?" I asked, still looking at her.

"Maybe I can. But I chose to just focus. I was pressured since mom is a teacher. Everyone expect me to be good at class because my mom is a teacher." She said.

I just listened to her and I can really imagine how her childhood went. It may not be as sad as mine, but I can say she see it as sad moment of her life. It's true that everyone's life is different.

Suddenly she stopped as if she remembers something and she looked at me.

"Why?"

"You don't have my number."

"Huh?"

"We can't communicate if I don't have your phone number. You'll be leaving later, right?" Y/N said.

I just nodded and looked at what she's doing.

She's started to write numbers which I assumed her phone number.

"There, call me, text me, I'll pick up without hesitation." She said which made me chuckled.

"It's still not syncing to me that you have to leave for vacation. I'm afraid that I'll miss you when you already left." She said looking at me.

"I'm gonna miss you too. But we can celebrate together on your birthday, right? I already asked granny to ask your mom."

"But that is like 10 days from now."

"I know. That's why I'm sticking with you. So you won't miss me that much."

"I don't think it works that way, Tzu." She sighed as she let go of the pen to hold my other hand.

She stared at it as she came quiet like she was thinking of something.

"Why?" I asked which made her look at me and smile.

"Nothing." She said as she continued to play with my hand. But her answer doesn't really satisfy me. Maybe I just feel like she's thinking of something. Something that...includes me.

"Come on, tell me." I said.

She stopped brushing her thumb on my knuckles and slowly looked at me.

"I'm just thinking... What if while you're outside you realized that you don't really love me?"

"What?" I asked which made me sat properly.

"I mean, you're not around me... It's like I'm questioning your love—"

"That won't happen." I said, cutting her off.

"And I can promise that. Because you're the only person made me feel this way. And... Y/N, I'm staying on my grandma's house. I'm pretty sure there's nothing much in there. I'll be crazy thinking about you."

She chuckled as she looked at me with smiley eyes which made me grin.
Our moment was interrupted by a sudden ring from the telephone.

"I'll get it." Y/N said as she walked to the telephone and answer it. After a few seconds, she looked at me.

"Okay mom, I'll bring Tzuyu too."

As I heard that, I thoughts started playing on my head. I am sure that Y/N meant by "there" is office. As she put back her phone, she walked to me and smiled.

"Mom is calling us."

"Us? Why?" I asked.

"I don't know. But she said that your grandma is already there."

"But she said that she'll pick me up at night." I said.

"Let's just go. I don't think it's so serious tho. Are you nervous?"

Honestly? Yes.

"Come on. We'll go there together. You don't have to worry." She said.

I just sighed and stood out from my seat as we both head out the room.
As we are on our way to the school, Y/N is clinging on my arm which made me less worried.

As we got outside Y/N's mom's office, Y/N looked at me first and asked me if I'm ready.

I just nodded and she knocked.

As we got the signal, Y/N let go off my arm to open the door. We both entered and as I got in, I saw grandma sitting across principal Hong.

Principal hong and I had a contact and the first thing she did is to smile at me.

"Come in, ladies." Principal hong said.

I saw she signaled Y/N to stand beside her. While Grandma made me sit on the chair next to her.

"Good afternoon, Principal hong." I said as I got near.

"Good afternoon."

"Mom, did you call granny here for that thing?" I heard Y/N whispered to her mom but principal hong just chuckled as she shake her head.

"Well Mrs. Mei said she's here to pick Tzuyu. Also, she mentioned me about your plan, on celebrating Y/N's birthday together. I just thought, Y/N's birthday will be 10 days from now. She'll be lonely. I asked Mrs. Mei if she can also take a look on you. You know? So you can be together. I hope Tzuyu can also tour you outside since we barely do that because of my schedule."

I looked at principal Hong as I wonder if she's not joking. When I looked at Y/N, she's also surprised too.

"You want me to come with Tzuyu and granny?"

"Yeah, why not? I don't want you to spend your Christmas vacation alone as I'll be busy too. Most of the students will go home to their families. But don't worry, we'll still do the same thing we do every Christmas."

I looked at grandma as she's just smiling since we got here.

"You know I always want your daughter. She's nice and kind. And she's Tzuyu's bestfriend. Y/N is like my grandchild too. So you can assure that she'll enjoy her stay with us."

"Oh I'm sure she will, right, honey?"

Principal Hong looked at me and also looked at Y/N. I just have the feeling that she really like what's going on me and Y/N. Which is nice! But, why is it so awkward at the same time?

"Mom are you sure? You know that I'm already used on staying here. I don't mind if you're busy." Y/N said which made me looked at her.

What do you mean? Don't you want to be with me huh?

"Oh dear, I know you want it too. See this as gift for being a great daughter."

"Your mom is just so sweet. No wonder Y/N is a sweet child too." Grandma said.

Well, that's not a lie.

"So technically you're here to pick up us both?" I asked to grandma.

"Yes."

"So what do you think ladies? Are you in?" Y/N's mom asked.

I nodded and looked at Y/N who's still undecided. When she looked at me, she sighed and smiled.

"I mean, I get to roam around new places for long... So why not?"

"That's very nice! Let's go and ready your things." Grandma said.

"That's right. But I need Y/N to stay here for a while. I just need a little word for her." Principal Hong said.

I looked at them and just nodded. Grandma and I left the office as she also said that she wants to see our dorm.

Well, I guess the luck is on us. This is just a perfect time. I can finally do some plans to make Y/N's vacation's worth it.
