42. Truth

Tzuyu's PoV

It's the sixth day of the week. It's been a few days since the last I transformed. After that night, I made sure to gather information on how to control it. If I can even control it.

But everything is just so far. I can't seem to see an answer to my questions.

It's also been days since Y/N is acting up. She just went like that after that happened, when her mother punished her.

Somehow I felt guilty since if not because of me, she won't think about that surprise.

But to say, I really appreciated it. She's the first person who treated me like that on my birthday. Even my own person hasn't done anything like that.

"Where are you going?" Y/N asked as I left the bathroom, drying my hair.

"I'm gonna see my parents. They said they're coming today."

"Really? That's nice!"

"Yeah... You want to come?" I asked which made her look at me.

"Me? Are you serious?"

"I mean if you just want... I don't think my parents will believe me if I tell them I'm getting us at this school already." I said which put sparks in her eyes.

"Omg! Of course I'd like that! Let me just take a quick shower!" She stayed thrilled and ran to the bathroom.

I just shook my head as I can't help but to laugh at her reaction. She's the only person I know that would be excited if they'll get to meet their friend's parents.

Well to be honest, she's the first one. The fact that I never had a friend.

I walked to my table and saw my notes. All the notes I took down to learn something about myself. But I've read all I have to read but I still can't find the right answer.

The only thing I know is to ask my parents... Whether the truth will break a part of me.

Not so long Y/N was done. We left the dorm and walked together to the place where parents and students have time with each other.

"I'm really excited to talk to your parents. I know I have met them already but we haven't talked for long."

"What do you want to tell them anyway?" I asked.

"Stuff."

"Okay, but just chill. I just want them to know that I'm doing well here."

"Don't worry, I got you!"

"There they are!" Y/N exclaimed as she pointed somewhere.

I looked at it and immediately saw my dad.

We walked there and as we got near, Y/N greeted dad nicely.

"Good morning sir. Welcome to our school. I am Hong Y/N, Tzuyu's roommate and also her friend."

"Where's Mom?" I asked at dad.

Y/N looked at me as maybe I did greeted him. It's not really our thing. Especially seeing dad's expression now.

"So you got a friend. Y/N, right? Aren't you the one who also saved her?" Dad asked without looking at me but Y/N.

Y/N looked back at me as she smiled lightly.

"Yes sir."

"Right, uhm... Y/N, would you mind giving us time to talk. I just have a very important word to my kid." Dad said as if he already expected that Y/N is gonna stay with us until the end of time.

Y/N looked at me again as if asking if that's fine. Well she doesn't have choice.

"I'll see you later." I just said.

"Okay... I'll be in the library." Y/N said before bidding goodbye to my dad and left.

"You shouldn't have treated her like that."

"I don't have time to talk to your friend."

My jaw clenched in time as I heard what he said. I know that time will come that I'll change and I won't be the same Tzuyu that will beg on my Father's love. And that is this time. But I never thought that I would stand up by someone who's not even my relative but a friend.

"She's the only person who's nice to me. She just want to meet you and mom... Where's mom anyway?" I asked.

"She can't come."

"That's a big news." I huffed.

He sat at a vacant table nearby. I followed him and just sat across, so I could clearly see his serious face.

As I come here, I already know that nothing's good is gonna happen. I just had small expectation that it will be a good talk but it all faded as soon as I didn't see my mom around.

"Aren't you gonna ask how am I doing?" I asked.

"Why don't you tell me?"

I shut my eyes as I sighed silently. As this talk getting longer, my father keeps disappointing me.

"The time when you went here... Something happened to me. I transformed into something I didn't want. I-i killed a helpless animal just to satisfy the monster inside me." I said without breaking our eye contact.

I knew that anytime second, my tears will find their cue to escape, but I won't let that happen. Not infront of him.

"You transformed already." Dad said without any sign of surprise in his voice.

"Yes, and the second time was my birthday." I said.

"Anyone caught you?" He asked which made me frowned.

"Like, did anyone see it?" Dad repeated as if I didn't get what he just said.

That time, I can't hold it anymore. I said what I want to say, without any filters and break.

"First you inserted me on this school without knowing that this school is for people who's not normal like me. I was so too worry that I might kill my roommate... The first person who is nice to me. And now that I am telling you I transformed... You can't even ask me right questions just to make me feel better?! Really dad?"

"Why are you like that? You were acting like you've never been like this." I said.

"Because I'm not!" Dad said which made me stop.

"What?"

"I never been like that, Tzuyu."

"Oh, so it's mom who made me like this. But she even go here? Why? Is she feeling guilty by now? That she made another monster like her?" I scoffed.

"No, Tzuyu. Neither your mom nor I experienced that. We'll never be because we are normal." Dad said.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

That can't be. Then why—

"Your mom is not really your mother. She's not the one who gave that to you."

"W-what are you saying?" I asked as my voice trembling and I can't hide it anymore.

"I went here to tell you the truth. You real mother is long gone. Right after she gave birth to you. That's the truth."

"No, it's not. You're just messing with me, come on!"

"I'm not! That's the truth Tzuyu! I got your real mother pregnant. When she died, I have no choice but to raise you! That's the truth!"

I looked at him as my tears started to fall. I can't see any emotions in his face but seriousness.

"You what? You had no choice?"

"You don't understand."

"I do, I do understand. All this time you were fooling me... Please just don't go back here. I don't want to see you anymore."
