26. Down Days

Tzuyu's PoV

I still can't believe everything that Y/N just explained. It feels surreal. It's a good feeling but at the same time, it's scary.

I didn't tell Y/N that I have a monster inside me. I just can't. I think it's not the right time for her to know.

But I am surprised by the things she can do. What I witnessed last night is enough to call her powerful.

When she used her power, she turned to a different person. As if she's not the noisy Y/N I know.

"Y/N, you said that you witnessed everyone's power, right? How? This school doesn't let anyone use their powers."

"That's right, but also wrong. There's one time that we can use our powers. Every year, there's an annual showdown. A day where all students need to prove their control to their powers."

"I don't get it. How can students control their power when they don't practice?"

"The powers were prohibited so that students won't abuse their powers. And if the showdown comes, every student has time to practice in a single room. Everyone will get monitored. And then at the end of the day, the showdown will start." Y/N explained.

"Woah."

"What are their powers? I asked.

"Who? Momo, Chaeyoung, and Dahyun?" She asked as if she knew who I was referring to.

I nodded and she told it to me without hesitation.

"Momo has a mythical kind of power. She can turn herself into a small fairy. The first time I saw her, I thought it was cute. But her powers are really terrifying. She can do magic as long as she transforms into a fairy."

"Really?"

"Yeah. In every showdown, she manages to be in the top 10."

"How about Dahyun and Chaeyoung?"

"They are best friends for a reason. Dahyun can make anything out of the water. She can control a body of water like telekinesis but only on water. And  Chaeyoung is like Momo, a mythical kind. She has the blood of the mermaid. As they work together, they become stronger."

As Y/N said that, I realized that I am not different. I am just like them.

"But of course, our powers surely have weaknesses. That's pretty normal because we ourselves are still human after all."

After that, Y/N told me more about things I need to know. I'm starting to get more confident as I feel like I belong here.

"So... When did you find out that you have that power?" She asked.

I looked at her and told the truth.

"When I was a kid, I remember. At first, I didn't know about it yet. My parents were the ones who noticed. And, they were the ones who got scared first. Until I grew up, I became scared of myself too. I tried to blend in with normal people but I keep getting myself in trouble." I just said, avoiding mentioning the monster.

"Scared? Why would they be scared?" Y/N asked.

I just smiled and shrugged. Even if I know, I can't tell. Part of me still doesn't want to share that I am a monster. Especially that I ate a living thing to satisfy my monster.

"Well at least now you know that you don't have to be scared. We are all not normal here. We are all unordinary. You don't have to mask yourself."

"I know."

It's almost lunch, Y/N and I decided to leave our room and go to the cafeteria. As we got there, we saw Chaeyoung, Dahyun, and also Momo.

"So how's your talk?" Momo asked as she looked at me.

"We were the one who should be asking that. How's Jeongyeon? Did she tell you something?" Y/N asked.

We sat on their table and listened attentively.

"Jeongyeon said that she got a letter on her locker. It was instructed there not to tell anyone. So she didn't. The letter said that the sender has something to show and it requires her to go on that place. And then as she went there, she saw the other students and even their other friends." Momo said.

"What's more confusing is why all of students who got caught, they were the only ones who got set up." Y/N said.

"Yeah, it's pretty suspicious. But I suggest we stop talking about it. I don't want any trouble especially now that they're coming." Chaeyoung said which made me look at them walking in.

They sat at the vacant table not so far from us. Before that, I also saw Jihyo looking at our part.

"We should go, I have a bad feeling." Y/N said but I stopped her as she's about to go.

"Wait, we just got here. We are here to eat not to make some trouble."

"Tzuyu is right, let's just ignore them." Chaeyoung said.

We started to eat and just ignored the fact that Jihyo's group is looking at us. Even if I don't use my unordinary senses, I know that I would still feel them looking at us.

"Are you all going back to your rooms after this? To be honest, I'm not even thankful that the class is suspended. It's so boring to stay in our dorm." Dahyun said.

"We finished three series when we got suspended. I don't have good movies to watch." Chaeyoung said.

"Is there any place here where we can go?" I asked.

"I'm sure the library is open." Y/N said.

"We have a bunch of books in our room." I said.

"Actually, no offense, Y/N. I love this school, but I still can't imagine how you are able to live here. I just entered here 5 years ago but I am wishing that I can graduate so I can go shopping outside this school." Momo said.

This place is pretty big but the only building you can see is the school itself and two dorms.

"Have you guys been schooling here for more than 5 years?"

"I think Momo was the last student who enrolled before you. And that was 5 years ago." Y/N said.

"Oh."
