32. Knowing Ancestors

Third Person

Another day has come. It's students' afternoon class. As it's their second day with their new subject, they are still thrilled about it.

"Today is our second day learning about special history. And our topic for today is our ancestors."

Everyone listened and put their attention to the teacher. Although for some it may sound boring hearing history. But for these students, they love hearing history of their own bloodlines.

The teacher flashed pictures for visual for his lesson. Everyone is staring at it with amazement in their eyes.

Meanwhile, Tzuyu's eyes were focusing on one thing. Something caught her eyes that she knows that she's very familiar with.

"Yesterday we tackled about the categories of everyone's power. There are three, but as time passes by, they got mixed up. Just like how human became half superhuman."

"It all started with the oldest group, the mythicals. Long time ago, people sees them as fantasies. Until they learned that they are supernatural."

"Started from vampires, werewolves, and fairies. Sooner, the groups were expanded. This is where discovering mermaid, gorgons, phoenix, and even goblins happened."

"Before, these creatures were so elusive. They don't engage with normal people. But our world is too small for different kinds of living. They have to live too. And in order for that to happen, they travel and make some experience."

"As normal people are the majority, these creatures can't help but to adopt. And when I say adopt, they blend in."

"How?" Jihyo asked  their professor.

"Using their powers. Although our knowledge is not that deep on how they started, we know how they blended in. Vampires, werewolves, and fairies... Those three are known as shape-shifters. They are normal people during specific times, but powerful creatures when the moon is out."

"But I can transform any time I want." Momo said which made the class agree.

"That is because compared to the three, fairies are more flexible. Vampires and werewolves have their limitations. They don't transform when there's sunlight."

"How about the other creatures?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Mermaids,gorgons, goblins, and phoenix were not in human form. They have their own forms. But still, they are considered mythical."

"As years passed and they were discovered by humans. Their response is not to defend or put up a guard against these creatures. They saw it as an opportunity. A treaty was made between normal people and creatures, specifically vampires and werewolves with normal people."

"After that, they lived in peace. They didn't just find safety and peace... But also friendships and relationships. And that's how half humans half mythical creatures were born."

"Woah."

"And because of the combined DNA of humans and mythical creatures, new forms were made. And for some reason, the power that was inherited changed also. Some just adopted the powers and not the actual forms. That's how elemental powered groups were made too."

"Wow, even their DNA says they are the majority." Jeongyeon said.

"What happened to the treaty?" Y/N asked.

"Let me guess, humans messed up. Now we need to hide again." Jihyo guessed.

"No, vampires does. They realized that what they need is more than just an animal blood. This is why there's actually no half human half vampires existed. Coz for them, human is just a carrier of blood that makes them alive."

"What happened after that?"- Nayeon asked.

"Werewolves stand for human. But that just made things more complicated. Vampires saw that in order to get what they want, they have to eliminate the protectors."

"Did they succeed?" Y/N asked.

"Luckily no. But unfortunately, because of what happened, people lost their trust with unordinaries. The treaty was never been brought up again. And also, they become smart enough to protect themselves against our bloodline."

"Many inventions, studies, and theories were born. People gone wild that they were so curious on what more can this phenomenon do. Experiments existed and that's how humans with the power of elemental science assembled."

"And mythical creatures are totally chilled with it? Wow." Chaeyoung said.

"They weren't. They fought for they kinds. But since various of experiments happened, people got their weapon which is their own creation."

"I don't get it, who's the real villain then?" Dahyun asked.

"There's no villain, Dahyun." The teacher said.

"These happenings extinct the whole werewolves. Just like how vampires ended. And if you are wondering what happened... Continuous conflict happened between humankind and unordinaries. Until several lives were sacrificed. Everyone doesn't know who's the enemy of who because of how diverse the people is."

"And because of this unstoppable event, some of them decided to disappear... To be out of anyones kind."

"Woah, I can't believe that it was so hard to live before." Momo said.

"It was... So much fear not just for humankind but for someone like us to live around." The teacher said.

"Do you have any questions, before we the class?" The teacher asked.

Jihyo raised her hand, with question in her head.

"Jihyo."

"How sure are we that werewolves and vampires had extinct? Is there really a report saying they were out?" Jihyo asked.

"I mean I would understand that vampires have the least chances of living especially that they didn't make connections with human. But werewolves may have. What if there are people who happened to be a half werewolf?" Jihyo asked.

"I don't think so. Like what I said, they were gone several years ago. And you don't have to be afraid. If there's someone who can't be here, these are vampires and werewolves."

"Why so?" Y/N asked.

"Because they are gone." The teacher said which doesn't satisfy Y/N.

"That is for today, I hope you enjoy our today's lesson. I'll see you a again tomorrow, have a nice day."

The class ended, everyone left the room. Everyone is talking about how interesting their subject is while they are walking to their last subject.

"Tzuyu, you're so quiet. I was expecting you to be blown by the lesson." Y/N said as she turned and look at Tzuyu.

"I was... So blown away." Tzuyu mumbled.
