There was no sound in the school library. Not any sound except for the occasional sound of you flipping a page in your big that you were so invested in. That's why you didn't notice the sound of footsteps approaching, it's not like anyone would notice them either since they were as quiet as a mouse's. A chair was pulled out from next to you at the circle, wooden table. It made a soft sound as I dragged against the gray carpeted grounds. A book was lightly placed down on the table, and you couldn't help but glance to see the title of the book. A Science book, eh? Studies, that's what most people came here for, but you like to come here to read other things (sometimes including school studying books). You're favorite type of genres were horror, sci-fi, and fiction/fantasy. Fantasy/fiction always brought you into another would and you loved that. It brought you away from all of life's hardships that you unwillingly dealt with.

There were no words shared with you and the person who sat down across from you. You kept your eyes low and prayed, prayed that it wasn't one of the people who hurt you for no reason. "Don't ignore me." You winced at those words, more like their voice. It was the person you didn't want to run into. You dragged your head up and stared into the person's hazel eyes, that held nothing but hate and aggression. "It's the best thing that I can do," You said, not being afraid of standing up. This person, that we'll call Jeffery, did hit you and hurt you. You never submitted to him, and you would always fight back, there was no winner nor loser. However, you would end up with the majority of bruises.

"Oh really? Well I wanted to talk about the fight that you really put up yesterday," Jeffery shot. You knew he didn't want to "talk" and you were ready today. Over your covered hands were brass-knuckles. Of course if you hit him it would end up with you getting in trouble and getting detention, or worse, getting suspended. But you were sick of him, sick of everything he has put you through for no reason. You sighed. "Say," You started, "why do you hold such hate for me?" Jeffery was silent, his cold eyes locked onto yours. They were empty, you couldn't read anything like you usually could. They were just blank. "Jeffer-" You were cut off by a quick slap to your face. There was a hot stinging sensation on your cheek. "Don't call me that," he growled. You scoffed and crossed your arms after slamming your book shut. "Don't slap me you little dipshit!" You whisper-yelled at him. Jeffery was used to this, and he didn't even want to bother at this point but his anger was pushing him.

As you stood from the library table Jeffery stood as well and followed behind you. He quickly grabbed your sleeve and dragged you out of the library and into a quiet, narrow hall in the school. You tugged at your own sleeve, a soft sound of fabric being over-stretched was heard but not acknowledged. There was a click and then a sound of something sharp. You peered over Jefferey's shoulder and you saw his hand coming towards your face. You backed up and felt a hot liquid pooling down your face. You touched your cheek that was previously slapped and looked down at your hand. There was dark crimson blood that resigned on your finger tips, "this bitch slashed me." Your eyes fell onto his and you didn't hesitate to punch him with your armored fist. You landed a hard hit on his nose and he stumbled back. You then remembered that you had brass-knuckles on, and you saw some blood painted the sharp spikes. You sighed and glared back at his hunched over form, he clutched his nose.

You quickly ran away from the scene and ended up running into someone. You almost fell back onto the ground, but they grabbed your hand quickly and pulled you close. "Oh, I-I'm so sorry!" You quickly said and tried to maneuver around the person but they grabbed your shoulder. "Are you okay, y/n?" He asked. You quickly turned around and saw that it was your distant friend Cesar. "Oh, heh, yeah!" You said. Cesar didn't say anything as he closely examined your face. "Who did that?" He softly asked. You wondered how he could guess that someone did it to you and not something. "No one!" You said and tried to pull away from his now loose grasp. "Y/n!" Cesar called after you as you walked away. Soft sounds of foot-steps were heard behind you. Cesar ran infront of you and stopped you from moving.

"I know we're not close friends, but please, you can trust me!" He quickly said, his eyes were full of concern. You wondered why he was worried, you barely knew him. As you thought about telling him or not, tears started to form in your eyes as you thought about what happened. Jeff never brought a knife to school, especially not to any fights you had. Was he planning on really hurting you today? "Someone slashed me with a knife, Cesar!" You blurted out. Cesar's eyes widened. Just then the bell ran and you moved from infront of Cesar. You slightly brushed against his side, or he brushed against yours. You muttered a quick sorry and headed to class.

You sighed and took off your school uniform, but you saw something fall out of your big pocket and land on your carpeted bedroom floors. You crouched down and picked up the fallen thing. It was a flower, not just any, a rose. You thought about how it could get there and then you remembered that you accidentally brushed against Cesar. But no, he brushed against you on purpose. You picked up the rose and smiled, "a rose, just for me?"
