I woke up to light tugging on my sleeve

I woke up to light tugging on my sleeve. My eyes fluttered open, revealing a hand trying to grab mine, which was conveniently hanging off of the bedside. I groaned and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. "Y/n, you're awake!" Gabe said happily. You hummed and looked over the edge of the bed. I smiled once I saw his own smile. I swore that it was contagious. "I made you breakfast!" He said as he jumped up on your bed. It would seem that the bed was tall, but it wasn't really. Only 3-4 feet tall, however, you would only be able to see Gabe's head if you were to lay down flat on the bed. So that must mean he's 4'2 or 4'1. He's really short.

But apart from his height he was really smart and older than what you would most likely guess. Maybe it was the fact he was an angel and most angels seem to be short. I sluggishly sat up from the bed and hung my legs off the edge. I smiled, "thank you, Gabe." He nodded and left the room. The little angel was always so kind. He helped around the house, supported me when I was down, and was always there. Then I remembered how I found him, it was horrible.

I went outside one night, there was a blood moon, and I wanted to see it. I had a perfect view from my backyard, so I decided it was a good spot to watch the moon. As I stepped onto the grass I noticed a bundle of feathers laying on the grass. I thought it was some big ass bird, but as I got closer I noticed that it took a more human form. There was blood everywhere, and one of his wings was broken. He was in really bad shape. I sighed.

There was a nice smell traveling through the air, which I didn't hesitateto inhale. It was sweet, and I immediately realized the smell to be pancakes. I smiled as I walked into the kitchen, I smiled to myself. It was very nice of Gabe to make a quick breakfast for me. I have been burnt out lately, but I never made it obvious. It was a very pleasant surprise. Once I set foot in the kitchen I was met with a funny sight. Gabe was trying to reach for something on the counter, a cup. I trudged over behind him and got the cup with ease. I bent down and handed it to him. Gabe softly smiled at me, saying a quick thanks before scrambling to the fridge. I turned around and on the little island I saw one plate with pancakes. I huffed. "Gabe," I said, slightly looking over my shoulder, "where's your food?" He hummed. "I'm not feeling hungry, besides, I eat really early this morning." I nodded and sat down at the table.

I hummed in delight. I threw in many compliments every few bites. Gabe always smiled, his rosy cheeks showing. He was honestly adorable, and such an angel. I stretched and stood up from the counter, releasing a yawn. I decided now was the  time to get into the shower. I quickly returned to my room after rinsing the plate and putting it in the dish washer. I needed to pick out something to wear today, nothing too bland, nothing too extra.

After getting out of the shower, I dealt with my hair. Not much effort! I left my room and stopped in my tracks as I heard the TV. I went into the living room and draw a broadcast. It was from the Mandela County Police Department, confronting the alternate issue(s). I guess it was getting bigger now, because before people just brushed it off as their imagination. I saw Gabe sitting on the coach, remote in hand, staring blankly at the screen. "Gabe?" I whispered, waving my hand infront of the TV. His pupils got bigger..
