~NEW YEAR EVE 2038, PAST~

"come on Leo, let's go out tonight" Alex said through the phone as I was just staring through the window holding my phone on the ear

Few months ago I met Alex, Noah, Luke and Jack. They're all living here their whole lives but Alex, he's actually from London, he moved here when he was 5 which means he is living here for 13 years.

He is a family with Ben's teammate from Chelsea and at first that was bothering me because I didn't want anything to remind me of her, at least not when I am on the other side of the world for past 8 years.

We all started playing football together few months ago and now we are hanging out every day.

I immediately told them that I can not open up that easily and that they will have to understand that if they decide to be a friends with me and they understood that. They didn't ask anything about me not trusting people so much and I'm glad they didn't.

"I'm not for going out tonight Alex" I groaned

I used to spend every New Year Eve at home with family and I don't want to change it, not now.

"okay okay, if you didn't give up last five minutes then you probably won't" he said

I threw myself on the bed staring at ceiling.

"I'm glad you're giving up" I said

"if you change your mind, let me know" he said

"you're so hard to get on with" I said and hung up

If I didn't do it now he will bother me for next half an hour after what I will give up and it won't end well.

The countdown to New Year I spend alone, at my balcony, for the past 8 years, wishing the same thing and I don't know if it will ever change.

"this year is different and I hate to say it but I still have the same wish, I know it will never be the same after what happened this year, but I still want you back in my life" I mumbled to myself looking at the sky full of fireworks

And the same wish went on the next year after which it finally came true. I got her back in my life and I'm more than thankful for that.

She changed me, she pulled me away from what I used to do, she helped me to be a better man for her, to treat her right even I think I would ever be able to treat her right. She has to be treated like a princess and I don't think I would be ever able to treat her like that.

She's the only light in my darkness and she's the only person who can help me when something put me down because she's the only one who knows everything, every little thing about me.

My phone buzzed and I answered the call.

"you're late" Daniel said and I looked at the clock and then to the bag in hallway

Training started 15 minutes ago and I have 2 hours and 40 minutes to Leicester which definitely won't be a part of my day today. There is no way I can make to Leicester till the end of the training and I better not be alive at next training.

"there's no way I can make it" I said

"yeah, I know, you dumbass, I have your back" he said and hung up the call

Few minutes later he sent me a message saying that I'm feeling cold today and I just smiled lightly before I groaned.

That means I can't go to the gym today either, someone can see me and say I wasn't on training but in the gym I was, doesn't make sense.

I can go home and have a session at dad's gym but then he will ask why I'm not at training.

That's just one training right? Nothing can happen.

I laid on the couch and thought what I can do today.

At the end I fell asleep until freaking 9pm and how am I supposed to sleep at night now? Not a chance I will make that.

My phone buzzed and I saw her name, smile was immediately on my face and I was never more excited to answer someone's call as I am to hers.

"hey" I said rubbing my eyes as I turned the lamp on

"did you just woke up?" she asked laughing

"don't laugh at me" I said pointing to her with one eye closed

"what's going on? Why were you sleeping through the day?" she asked

"got late to the training so I called in sick and left on my own for the rest of the day so I fell asleep and woke up just a minute you called" I said

"you're lazy! I've done more than you today!" she said throwing herself on the bed

"I wish I could throw you" I said

"excuse me?" she asked trying to hide her smile but I saw it

"you heard me" I said

"sooooo, I'm free tomorrow so I thought about staying up late tonight which is good with you now since you lazy ass just woke up and can stay up late with me" she said

"and what's in that beautiful head of yours? What do you want to do?" I asked

"have a movie night?" she asked and I looked at her confused

"we both put on the same movie on our laptops, we stay on the facetime and we watch it together" she said

"and we get popcorns" I said

"yessir" she said and I smirked
