Michael:
* You meet in a video game store *
* Y/N stands for your name *
I searched the games that were stacked before me, coming up with nothing.
Where was the game I wanted and why wasn't it here?
I checked the layers again, closely inspecting the titles of the games in case I missed it the first time.
I shuffled my feet along the floor, moving backwards, as I scanned the rows and rows before me.
My back hit that of another person, and I turned, a growl leaving my lips, as I was ready to yell at the person behind me.
I wasn't in the mood for this, I was becoming extremely irritated at the fact this was the third shop I'd come in and still couldn't find the damn game!
"Hey, watch where you're - "
I stopped suddenly, my curled lips forming into a tight line, as my eyes widened and I met the eyes of the most beautiful girl I'd ever met.
She stared back at me, wide eyed, her bottom lip caught between her teeth, a look of poor fright flashing across her face.
"Shit, I'm sorry," I apologised.
Did I really almost yell at this innocent girl?!
I was an idiot.
"Oh, n-no, that was m-my fault," she stammered, with a sheepish smile.
"Totally my fault. I wasn't looking where I was going, I apologise," I confirmed, raising my hands in defeat.
She giggled lightly, her hand coming up to cover her mouth, and I swear it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard.
"What were you looking for?" she asked, her head tilting to the side as she watched me.
"Oh, it's just a game called Destiny," I shrugged. "It's fine, I'll find it soon I guess."
Suddenly, the game was the least of my worries.
I couldn't care less about that anymore, all I wanted to do was apologise over and over again to this girl I'd just met.
What was her name?
"Well it looks like you're looking in the complete wrong section," she laughed.
She reached around me, her arm grazing against mine and I heard her whimper, as I sucked in a breath.
She steadied herself, as she moved a little, so our skin was no longer touching.
She touched a card sign, sticking out from the games.
"You're looking in the stimulation games and I'm guessing, and this is just based on the advert I've seen for it, that it's somewhere in the action or maybe adventure section," she explained.
Dammit, this was a lack of reading things properly situation once again.
"And why, might I ask, are you in a games store? Because, to me you just don't seem to come across as the gamer type," I chuckled.
She gasped, feigning offence, and a hand came up to her chest.
"I'll have you know, I'm the boss of all things gamer," she announced, her hands coming to land on her hips.
"Oh yeah, and what games do you play?" I asked, probing her further.
She was a little firecracker and I was having fun talking to her.
"Er.... Well, you know, this and that," she said, waving off my inquisition.
"And what would be this and that?" I asked, smirking as she began to blush.
"Doesn't matter. I don't even know you," she observed.
"Well, mystery girl, I'm Michael," I proclaimed, as I held out my hand to her.
She looked down at my hand, looking at a loss before she gripped it and shook.
"I'm Y/N," she replied, with a shy smile.
"Y/N, come on we're going," a guy shouted from the other side of the shop.
She pulled her hand back quickly, and began to walk away from me.
I couldn't have her leaving like that.
That wasn't the way it was supposed to end.
"Wait!" I yelled, as I raced after her.
Fuck, why was I doing this?
She was just a girl.
A girl I liked.
A lot.
I grabbed her arm, halting her movements and she span around to look at me.
"Can I get your number? And maybe a date?" I asked.
"Well aren't we very forward," she mocked.
"Trust me, I'm not usually like this. Can I?" I explained.
"Er... I don't think that's a good idea. I don't usually give strangers my number," she muttered.
"I'm not that strange, I promise," I argued, holding my hands up.
She laughed, as she looked up at me, chewing on her lip and pondering her next move.
"Okay, I guess it wouldn't be too bad," she finally agreed.
"It will be great, I promise," I exclaimed.
We swapped numbers and parted ways, and the rest of the day I couldn't stop the stupid grin that was plastered on my face.
