YOUR POV

"Babe, come look at these flowers," Ashton gushed, his voice echoing against the wide open space.

He'd decided to go hiking today and I was all for it.

The adventurous side of him was something I enjoyed immensely, the way he shook with excitement and grinned from ear to ear, so wide I was surprised it didn't hurt.

"Wow," I whispered.

I gently touch the petals, the delicate purple ovals feeling like velvet against my skin.

I hear the click of a camera shutter and blink as the flash shines.

"Ash," I whine, spinning around and almost losing balance.

He smiles sheepishly and just wiggles the camera in his hands.

He looks out towards the trail we have just come off from and he nods towards it.

"Come on. We need to keep going if we're going to make it before dark," he explains.

He trots off towards the trail, whistling as he goes and swinging his arms by his sides.

"No more pictures of me please," I beg him, skipping to his side.

I fall into step beside him and he nods in agreement, then takes my hand in his and we stroll on.

HIS POV

I know I promised her that I'd stop taking pictures of her, but I can't bring myself to stop.

Seeing her surrounded by all this nature, looking so beautiful, so natural, so real, I just want to capture everything.

We strolled up the trail, stopping every so often to stare at the beauty before us and look on in awe of the nature surrounding us.

"Oh my god, look at this," Y/N gasped.

She pulled free from my hand and darted of, following a faint trial leading behind the trees.

"Y/N," I called after her as she disappeared behind the trees.

"Ashton, come here, it's breath-taking," she gasped.

I followed the sound of her voice, passing the large oaks and came out into a brightly lit clearing.

A river was placed in the middle of the clearing, the water crystal clear, giving a perfect view of the rocky river bed.

"Wow," I breathed.

I stepped further in, standing a couple inches behind her and stared at the view before me.

My fingers itched to take a snap of the scene before me, but I'd promised her I wouldn't.

My fingertips grazed the lens of the camera that was hanging from my neck, and I refused to overthink the situation any longer.

I pulled up the camera, positioning it over my eye, and gripping it in my large hands.

I looked down the lens, turning the camera this way and that to get a perfect shot, get it at the perfect angle.

She stood before me, her back to me and her hair blowing in the wind.

She looked perfect.

I tried to be quiet, tried to make it as subtle as I could so she didn't notice.

*Click*

She didn't move, she didn't turn.

I was able to snap a picture without her seeing.
