                              PART 4
We walked out of the restaurant, stomachs fit to explode, arms linked and made our way to the taxi waiting.
By now it was coming onto 3pm and I had to be home by 6.
The girls decided to do a little shopping, and a bit of pampering.
But we were all too lazy to walk after eating so much.
We clambered into the taxi and gave the cheery driver the directions.
"Off out somewhere nice today girls?" he asked, with a big smile.
"Oh, we've just been for a meal," I told him.
"Yeah, we're celebrating this ones birthday," Caitlin said, squeezing my shoulders.
"Oh, how lovely. Happy birthday," he replied.
                              "Thank you," I said.
"So, how old are you now?" he asked.
                              "20," I told him.
                              He chuckled.
"Ooh, no longer a teenager. How does it feel?" he asked.
                              "Awful," I laughed.
He chuckled as he turned the corner and pulled up at the side of the road.
We paid him and thanked him for the ride, then climbed out.
As we stood on the pavement, we looked around at the shops before us.
                              "Where to first?" Jenny asked.
"How about Primark, seeing as it's the closest," I suggested, pointing it out.
They both nodded, linking their arms in mine and we walked over.
                              --
One hour had gone by, and we'd successfully been to three clothes shops, and came out with a bag from each shop.
As we entered the beauty shop, ready to get our nails and eyebrows done, my phone rang.
I ushered the girls forward to the desk and moved to the waiting seats to answer my phone.
I pulled it out of my bag as I sat, and slid my finger across, answering the call.
I held it to my ear.
                              "Hello?" I greeted.
"Y/N, where are you?" mum said on the other line.
"I told you yesterday. I'm out with Caitlin and Jenny," I reminded her.
"I know, but when will you be home. We're going out this evening remember," she recalled.
"Well, we've just had a meal, been shopping and now we're getting our nails and eyebrows done. We'll be done by about 5, and I'll be home by 6," I told her.
"Okay, make sure you are because I booked a table for 7," she explained.
"Okay, I'll be back for 6," I promised.
We hung up and I shoved my phone back into my back.
"Is everything okay?" Jenny asked from her seat.
I looked over at her and nodded.
"Yeah, she was just reminding me about the meal tonight," I laughed.
I went to sit in the seat waiting for me and smiled at the woman.
"So what would you like to have done today?" she asked sweetly.
"I think I'll go for the red today," I decided, putting my hands on the table.
"Ooh, red is great for you! It goes amazingly with your skin tone," Caitlin agreed.
The woman began working on my nails and I sat back and let her work.
                              --
Half an hour later, I was in another seat, getting my eyebrows threaded.
I always hated getting them done because it hurt like hell.
My pain threshold was surprisingly low, and it always hurt when I got them done.
The woman pulled out a wipe, dabbing at my skin.
"There you go, sweetheart," she smiled.
                              "Thank you," I said.
I stood up and moved over to the desk, and gave her the money.
As we exited the shop, we found our arms instinctively linking once more.
"So have you had a good day?" Jenny asked.
"Yes, I've had a great day. Thanks girls," I thanked them.
"Good. I'm glad we could give you a good birthday. Okay, well we're going to love you and leave you," Caitlin said.
"See you again soon," Jenny smiled as she hugged me.
Caitlin hugged me, and they walked off towards the bus station, waving goodbye.
I pulled out my phone and called my mum, telling her I was just leaving and would be home soon.
Next, I rang the taxi company and asked for a taxi.
The person on the other end told me it was on its way and should be there in 15 minutes.
I glanced around, looking for a place to sit and spotted a bench.
I moved over to it and sat, crossing my legs and placed all my bags beside me.
I was still so full from the meal we'd just had.
But I was sure that by the time we got to the restaurant, I'd feel hungry again.
I was still wondering why my family had decided to go for another meal.
I shrugged it off, not thinking too much into it and waited for the taxi.
My phone rang, vibrating my bag and I reached inside, pulling it out.
"Hello?" I said, as I held it to my ear.
"Hey, baby girl," Michael cooed at the other end.
My whole body came alive at the sound of his voice and the goosebumps arose on every inch of my skin.
                              "Hey babe," I said.
                              "Happy birthday beautiful!" he said.
                              "Thank you," I replied.
                              I smiled.
"This is so hard being on the other side of the world when it's your birthday. I just want to be with you," he said, sighing.
"I know Michael, but it's alright. I understand. So stop being such a party pooper," I giggled.
                              He chuckled.
"Michael come on! We need to leave!" Ashton yelled in the background.
The urgency was clear in his voice and I knew that they were busy right now.
And the fact that Michael had literally tried his hardest to get a phone call in, in the smallest space of time he could, made my heart melt.
He really was one of a kind.
"Alright, I'm coming," he grumbled back to Ashton.
"I have to go baby. I love you Y/N. I'll see you soon, okay," he told me.
"Okay babe. I love you Michael. I'll see you in a week," I replied.
                              "Bye Y/N," he said.
"Bye Michael," I replied before ending the call.
I took a deep breath, as I was on the edge of tears.
                              I wasn't going to cry.
                              I wouldn't let myself cry.
                              Today was a happy day.
