"Come on Y/N. This could be good for you. Let's go out and have some fun," Y/B/F said, winking.
"I just don't feel like it," I shrugged as I sat on the sofa.
She grabbed my hands pulling me up and I groaned, pushing all my weight back, trying to stop her.
"It will be fun!" Y/O/F said, trying to convince me.
Y/B/F touched your shoulders, tugging me a little and making me look at her.
"I know you're still hurt by him Y/N," she said, smiling sadly. "But I love you and I don't like seeing you like this. Therefore I am ordering you to come out with us, get drunk and have fun!"
I hugged her, thankful for having such a great best friend.
"Okay. I'll come out," I finally agreed.
She squealed, clapping her hands together and jumped up and down excitedly.
"Yay! Okay we need to get you dressed and looking hot," she decided.
She pulled on my hand and dragged me up the stairs.
Tonight, I would forget.
For once I'd do something that didn't revolve around him.
Tonight was about me.
--
I sipped on my drink at the bar, not even bothering to look out for the girls anymore.
They'd each got noticed by boys and had been hesitant about leaving me.
They'd stood with their boys, by my side flirting.
In the end I'd begged them to go flirt somewhere else, because I was really uncomfortable.
They apologised and then left me alone, reassuring me they'd come back soon.
I waved off their concern and told them to enjoy themselves.
I'd had a few admirers myself but I'd pushed them away telling them I wasn't interested.
Some I'd had to be harsh with and yell before they understood.
The bartender finished wiping up the bar and drying some glasses, then he left.
I followed him with my eyes as he walked away and noticed he was setting up the karaoke stage in the back.
Looked like we were going to get some live entertainment tonight.
I just hoped the people singing didn't sing some soppy love songs.
I turned my attention back to the bar, letting out a deep sigh and sipped on my drink.
I hadn't even been here long and already wanted to go home.
My bed was calling my name.
I just needed sleep.

HIS POV
Having begged the bar owner to set up the karaoke a littler earlier then usual, I was finally ready.
And now I was feeling nervous.
I set up the stage, plugging in my guitar and tuning it up.
I already spotted her when I entered the bar, sat on a stool sipping her drink.
I didn't see her friends until I got up on the stage and got ready.
They'd left her to get off with some random guys and to say I was mad was an understatement.
I checked that the microphone was working, tapping on it a couple of times.
The feedback that buzzed throughout the room, caused heads to turn in my direction.
I gulped as the eyes landed on me and I was being watched.
Having been on stage on just last night in front of hundreds, you'd think this would be a walk in the park.
But knowing she was in this crowd, and this was a make or break moment, I was suddenly feeling nervous.
I sat down on the stool provided and positioned my guitar in my lap.
I knew once I spoke, she'd look up at and search for me.
And once her eyes landed on mine, my heart would pick up speed.
I cleared my throat and spoke.
"Hi, er... My names Michael," I began.
I watched as her back straightened up and she slowly turned.
"I don't even know why I'm doing this or what I'm doing here," I laughed nervously.
The people stood began to gravitate towards me.
But my heart and my eyes gravitated towards her.
The whole place was empty to me.
"I'm going to play a song that was written a while ago for my band. At the time, the song didn't really mean anything to me. It's a song about a guy, whose broken hearted and misses his girl. He begins to regret the choices he made. At the time, neither myself or any of my bandmates had ever felt anything similar to this song. But now? Now I'm feeling the effects."
I paused, sighing and gripped the microphone in my hand.
"She's here tonight but I won't embarrass her or myself and point her out. She knows who she is and I beg her to come find me when I'm finished. This song now holds some true meaning to me. This song is for her. This song is called Amnesia."
I stop talking and begin to strum the guitar, starting the song.
Without the boys to help me, the melody is off, but I don't even care.
As long as she hears the words and feels the pain behind each lyric, then it doesn't matter.
"I drove by all the places we used to hang out getting wasted
I thought about our last kiss, how it felt, the way you tasted."I sing the words, hoping that she's listening, that she hears.
I sing from my heart.
And I hope that she feels that too.
