Helping Zim transition to his new life hasn't been an easy one, but Zim was at least trying, Dib was just glad for that. It's not been easy for Dib either as they often struggle with how to talk to each other and what to do now that they are friends.
"Alright. Today. I'm going to take you to the mall. To teach you about human clothes, stores and money." Dib explained.
"You act as if Zim is going to stay forever here." Zim cutely protested.
Dib wanted to point out the obvious that Zim said he wanted to stay here and that means he's going to live here probably forever or at least until Dib died, which was a weird thought. Dib felt nervous about that idea. What happens after he dies? Will Zim destroy earth? Do Irkens out live humans?
Dib was struggling with a bubble of panic that was threatening to consume him and Zim sighed, "Let's just go." Zim had his disguise on and Dib nodded.
"Humans like to wear different clothes. And it's not like your unfamiliar to using different clothes for disguises. So I thought doing a bit of clothes shopping might help you think of something different." Dib explained.
"If earthlings like wearing different clothes than why does Dib wear the same clothes nearly all the time." Zim smugly countered.
"I like these clothes." Dib explains shyly.
"Zim likes his clothes!" Zim protested.
"Well than... I'll try on clothes with you alright." Dib sighed.
"Fine." Zim growled.
They entered the different clothing stores and tried different clothes on. Dib made sure to keep Zim away from the alien themed clothes as he's not sure how Zim would react to them.
They both found some nice clothes for themselves and Dib bought them with his money, since him and Gaz gets an allowance for doing chores around the house.
"You've been staring at that one store with your paranormal things all over it." Zim glared at Dib, who sighed.
"Okay. I want to check it out, but you'll probably freak out and destroy it knowing you." Dib sighed.
Zim looks a bit hurt and looks away, "Zim promises not to destroy it..." Zim explains.
"It's got alien themed stuff and other paranormal things. Are you sure your not going to overreact to it?" Dib looked at Zim doubtful.
"Zim gave Dib his word! Zim means what he says!" Zim hissed.
"Alright! Sorry." Dib nodded and they go inside.
Dib looks like a kid in a candy store as he looks at all the cool paranormal clothes and stuff. Zim looks at the alien shirts and shyly takes it.
They go to check out and Zim puts his shirt on the counter as Dib looks at him confused, "Zim likes stupid earth shirt. Is that weird?!?" Zim hissed.
"I... uh..." Dib wasn't sure as he paid for the things and they headed out of the shop, "I guess I thought you'd be offended or frightened by it?" Dib explained.
"Zim is honored by it. That humans want to wear clothes like this. It's as if they are saying they love aliens." Zim explained.
"Uh... Yeah I guess." Dib nodded, "I mean I guess some people be kinda cool to met an alien until finding out how evil they can be." Dib explained buying the shirt and heading out of the store with Zim close behind.
"Why does Zim feel like Dib was projecting a bit?" Zim asked.
"Maybe a bit." Dib admits.
They stand their in awkward silence alone in the mall hallway as people pass by this hallways entrance uninterested.
