Zim had over heard the pakless Irken's confession of love and devotion to the human and it made him sick to think an Irken would be so happy and overjoyed to serve a lesser species for any reason. The human spoke with so much soft, tenderness and love though. They both could speak freely to each other almost completely honestly without hiding secrets or fighting.
Zim didn't want to admit... He's actually kind of jealous... that stupid kiss with Dib kept playing in his head over and over. He was made at Zeek for the dirty trick, but also... it made Zim realize he wanted so much more from Dib. So much more than their rivalry can give them and it helped Zim understand why he just hasn't returned to irk yet when he knows he should report there. If nothing else he needs to open communication with Irk about him not being able to get in touch with the Armada anymore.
"There's no way I can serve these humans." Zim thinks bitterly.
He can almost accept serving Dib, though he refused to admit that, but that's just because Dib is his life partner. That reality is slowly sinking in on Zim and he's slowly understanding the gravity of that situation. Zim is still hesitant though.
He absolutely refuses to serve Zeek as his tallest though. Perhaps it's because the Irken is devoted to humans and pakless. Zim has already labeled Zeek as a traitor in his mind. Zeek is not an Irken in Zim's eyes. Not even a rogue Irken. Zeek has completely forsaken the empire and his identity as an Irken at least to Zim anyway, so Zim will not follow him.
Zim say alone with his thought until a familiar scent made him stir. The crunching of leaves and the thumping of an all familiar heartbeat have the human away immediately. Not that he was hiding.
"Zim!" Dib called out in an annoyed tone.
Zim went over to Dib without even thinking about it just to ask him what he wanted. Like a dog coming to their master.
"What do you want Dib beast?" Zim hissed.
"Zeek said he saw you running off into the forest. What are you doing anyways?" Dib asked.
Zim responsed the way he always does, "Planning the destruction of your planet and your demise!" Zim gushed as Dib frowned.
