He hesitated, "I sometimes hear voices... bits and pieces... as if he's hear with me, but when I question them or try to prove they are real... they simply vanish like nothing." He points out.

"Then don't talk. Just listen." You tell him.

He scoffed, but humored you a bit as he goes quiet, "Try not to think either." You quickly added.

"Now you're asking the impossible." Zib glared at you and you had to admit not thinking was nearly impossible for you.

"Just focus on the the sounds around you." You tell him.

He sighed and you both stand there in silence. The quiet hums of the Pak, the calm breathing of you both pak your hearts was all the noise in the empty vacuum of space expect for maybe the sound of crumbling rocks.

Zib waits to hear his Zim speak to him if only out of bored amusement or curiosity as you wait with him. You decide to try to clear your mind of all noise and focus on your heart beating in your ears and all the other noise in the silence.

You hear your Zim whisper to you. "Dib? Where are you? I'm scared. Zim scared. Zim in pod... Zim don't know where you are. Zim so scared." He whispers.

"You're having a nightmare Zim you're not in there." You mentally tell him and try to pull his mind to you as to bring him into whatever this was.

It takes some effort, but you managed it. Zib instantly flinched and hissed at the sight of your Zim crossing into his domain.

Zim blinks, but he puts on a brave face. You doubt Zim is all that scared of him considering it's literally just you and you both had to deal with your insane father. Both of you can handle an insane version of yourself.

"Oh good another Zim I get to kill! I was getting bored!" Zib flashed an evil smirk.

"Easy." You step in front of your Zim, "You hurt him and it'll hurt me and then you'll feel that pain too." You warned logically.

"I don't feel what you do. Thank god. I just know what you do!" Zib hissed.

You tried not to think about that feeling your face flush anyways, "As far as I'm concerned you two are only together because of your connection thingy. Had it not happened. I wondered what you would have done..." he looks at Zim.

"Perhaps something like your nightmare?" Zib snarled with a smirk on his face.

Zim's antennae bend backwards in shame, "Leave him alone! I've already made him feel guilty enough about his past actions." You tell him.

"Oh don't even get me started on that. You want to know what my Zim did? Why I killed him?" Zib laughed.

Zim shivered, "Zim can guess what it might have been." He answered.

"Oh you can?" Zib looks at him crazily and you felt curious.

"Zim knows... there's one line... that he must never cross with Dib. It's an unspoken line... and Zim has respected it more or less even when we first met." Zim fidgets.

You tried to think of what that might be, "Zim is absolutely not ever supposed to... cause the death of his rival's family." Zim explains and you blinked as you looked at Zib.

"Hmm... so I guess you do know." Zib shrugged, "My Zim blew up a bridge that my dear sister Gaz was crossing and it killed her." He explains.

"Zim doesn't believe he would have crossed that line on purpose! It must of been accidental!" Zim declared.
