A week had pasted since they left earth. Dib was getting more used to bring around Zim and understanding his complex feelings for him. Zim was patient and often asked for permission, before doing anything afraid to upset the human, which he appreciated gratefully.Just as he was getting relaxed another vivid vision threatened to shake him to his core. The sky was red, but there was no stars this time or sun. There was an odd vortex of red clouds. The ground was metallic and it looked dark blue maybe it's hard to say for sure. There were strange lines in the ground as if maybe the ground can open up or something.
Dib looked around and saw himself looking back at him. He didn't realize he's seeing the dream from Zim's perspective somehow. The older Dib, who around eighteen just softly smiled at his Irken friend.
"It's going to be alright Zim. We'll beat this. Whatever this is this time." He assured the smaller one offering his hand.
"Yeah yeah! Zim is not worried it's your imagination!" He waves his hand around, but reluctantly takes the older Dib's hand which dream Dib found kinda cute.
"What is this place though? And why do we keep dying?" The Irken demanded to dream Dib's surprise.
"So they are aware of the loop they are in just like we are aware they are in a loop." Dream Dib thinks.
"Dib worm! Speak up! I couldn't hear you!" The Irken complained.
"I said. I don't know. Hey are you okay? You seem... distracted?" The older Dib asked.
"Zim is frustrated with dying over and over." Zim crossed his arms.
"Well... than you could just let me die." Older Dib explained.
"No! Zim doesn't know if we'll come back if you die too!" The Irken felt afraid by the idea it shook him to his core.
"Never again." Dream Dib could hear Zim's thoughts, "I'll never again let you die on me! I refuse! I won't allow it!"
"What if it's like a video game. We each only have set amount of lives to like I dunno... live? Games only give you three Zim! So you have to let me waste mine if it comes to it." Older Dib explained.
"What if you don't come back! What if only Zim lives?" The Irken pointed at him harshly.
"Wouldn't that be ideal for you though? You'd finally get rid of me?" The older Dib asked.
"That's weird... why did I say that? Zim's already expressed his feelings for me... of course he doesn't want me to die. Zim... cares about me... weird to think about that." Dream Dib thinks.
"Huh? Zim is confused what's weird?" The Irken acted like he was picking up the dream Dib's voice.
"Uh.... Do you mean... why is that weird?" Older Dib looked just as confused.
"Ugh! You're confusing Zim!" The Irken held his head in pain.
Dream Dib could feel that Zim didn't like this place it felt weird to him. He had an intense headache, it felt like it's hard to breath and that his body had this weird pressure on it as of it's trying to crush him and Zim never admit any of that to Dib.
