They told her not to worry. They had managed to separate the head of the evil moth creature from it's body to keep it from regenerating properly and sealed it's body in a cave while they kept it's head guarded.

She had wondered if it was perhaps a bit too cruel. She looked at Indrid with worry as if he felt pity for the creature or felt disgusted at all by the actions of these humans in handling the situation.

Indrid looked at her and though she couldn't see his eyes. His expression was cold and harsh. Though it's not directed towards her. He was looking at the other mothman as one might look at a serial killer. With absolute no sympathy and remorse for the way it's being dealt with as of the creature brought this upon itself.

Carol sighed in slight relief that he's at least not offended and he gave her a smile and soft chuckle. He took her hand and lead her away from the scene to just forget it all and let her forget about what happened.

When they arrived at her house, she flung herself into his arms and he held her tightly. She refused to cry. He had warned her about this. He tried to stop it and failed. She knows this hurts him way more than her.

"Just stay by my side and help me through this." She told him.

"I'll try." Indrid tells her.

The problem was she's pregnant with that other mothman's child. Abortion of a crytid was a complicated and difficult mess and another reason the crytids don't try to start families more often with each other or the humans.

Indrid sat in the chair across from her with his hands intertwined as she sat there shivering a bit from time to time. He had such a pained look on his face as he deeply considered their next move.

Carol stared at her ripped up jeans and blushed a bit, "Ah. Sorry. That's right. Where is my manners." Indrid gets up and gets her a blanket and wrapped her inside it and just hugged her tightly.

"I... I thought of you." Carol told Indrid crying a bit.

"I know my dear. I know." Indrid deeply kissed her with love and affection.

He pulled away, "You're so brave." He tells her softly.

Carol nodded weakly and looked so shy, "I'm alive. I will survive. I will continue moving forward. I won't let what happened mess with me." Carol tells Indrid sternly, "So... don't let it mess with you either. You did everything you could." Carol squeezes his hand assuringly.

Indrid broke into tears and Carol panicked as he couldn't accept that. She hugged him and held him close rubbing his back.

"Im sorry. Im so sorry. No. I could of done more. I should of done more!" Indrid hated himself, "I should of fought harder even if it killed me! I should of done more to protect you!" Indrid was not okay.

"Indrid. You're doing so much more for me by staying alive and staying at my side. Because Im not fighting this alone. So... please... forgive yourself. I don't know what I would of done. Had it happened and I had to deal with it alone." Carol tells him.

"I know what you would of done..." Indrid tells her plainly.

"Is it better or worse than this outcome?" She asked him softly.

"You're in a lot more pain in that outcome. Scared. Alone. Miserable." Indrid spoke softly.

"Than this was the correct choice. You can't defeat every little bad thing that happens no matter how powerful you are. That's not how life works. For every good. There must be bad. It's balanced." Carol tells him softly holding him close.

Indrid sighed deeply and nodded slowly, "Perhaps your right. I should forgive myself a bit more. Just cuz I have the power to change things. It doesn't mean I'll be successful in doing so no matter how hard I try. I need to accept that even I have limits to what I can do... that if I fail... that's just how things should be... everyone fails... even mothman..." he smiled softly.

"Follow your heart and do what you believe is right no matter what. So that way even if you fail. You can say I gave my all to the path I believed in. I have no regrets." Carol tells him sweetly.

"I see... It was never about being successful or not... it's about doing what I believed was the right thing." Indrid looks more at ease.

"It's no wonder I fell in love with you." Indrid tells her as Carol's face turns red.
