In a universe far away....
Every night he would come outside to stare at space. An aching hole burning deeply in his heart. It once held so much wonder for him and so much curiosity than it was fear and now...
It brought him grief and pain. An emptiness he can't fulfill. When he wasn't staring at it he was laying at his desk watching Zim's empty house as if hoping the Irken would return to him somehow. As if the Irken was still alive, but he knew perfectly well that wasn't true. He saw the Irken die protecting him and his pak exploding on the Irken. The fear on the Irken's face was a foreign one.
Dib wished he could stop what happened from happening. Save Zim. Something. Living just wasn't the same without him. Dib has been in a slump that he can't come out of. His dad is at a lost what to do. Gaz has tried to shake him out of it, but everything reminds Dib of Zim.
"Zim would of liked this pizza. Zim would of played this game all wrong."
It went on for awhile. Dib was staring at the starry sky as if praying for Zim to return. Suddenly he sees a familiar purplish pink cruiser and his heart start racing. He raced toward it as it lands inside Zim's house.
He throws open the door in tears to see a younger him and Zim crawl out of the ship. He instantly hugged Zim crying.
"ZIM YOUR ALIVE! I knew you wouldn't die on me!" The older Dib cried.
"I am not your Zim! Unhand me!" Zim hissed and the older Dib let's him go looking like a hurt puppy.
"We are here to save you and Zim from the loop!" Young Dib explained.
"Loop?" The older Dib looks confused.
"You know the trial... where you and him are dying over and over?" The younger Dib asked.
"What are you talking about?" The older one looks so confused.
"Gah! Give Zim your earring!" Zim hissed.
"Uh? Okay? Why?" The older Dib gives his earrings to Zim, who scans them and gets into the ship to type away at it.
"Okay... so... He's receiving the signal... but because he's like a parallel you... You are also receiving the same signal." Zim gives the earrings back.
"That doesn't even make sense! And are you saying it wasn't me who sent the signal in the first place?!? Than who's signal is it?" Younger Dib complained.
"Zim tracked it to a planet this time. Though it's a weird planet. It's one that exists in between universes." Zim explained.
"That must be where the trial is taking place!" Younger Dib understood.
"Sorry. Can you two explain what's going on?" Older Dib asked confused and they tell him everything.
"Did you not receive the visions?" Younger Dib asked telling him about their visions.
"Not the ones you two had... but yeah we had nightmares where we saw either ourselves dying or the other dying, but thought nothing of it." He shakes his head.
"We won't get answers here. Let's head to the planet." Zim sighed.
"Wait! Take me with you!" Older Dib begged and they nodded.
They all got into the spaceship and sailed through the inky void of space as Zim followed the signal. There looking like a ghost. A dark blue planet with swirling red clouds surrounded by the stars and no moons or sun. Zim flies toward it as his ship complains.
"Warning! Entering unstable territory... Warning planet is highly unstable. Warning entering unstable subspace..." the ship flashed red, but Zim pressed on.
