Virgil and Roman met at summer camp. They were staying at the same cabin along with a few other teenagers. At first, the two disliked each other, nicknames were being spat at left and right. One night, after a big fight between them, counselors at the camp forced Roman and Virgil to stay at a lone cabin a long hike away from the other cabins
Slowly, during the stay in the lone cabin, Roman and Virgil put aside their differences and began to grow close. Soon enough, they revealed feelings for each other and began to date
After the typical summer camp activities were done for the day, Roman set up something small for a date out in the vast wilderness. Roman returned to his and Virgil's cabin to pick up his boyfriend, seeing him asleep on their bed. Roman smiled, running his fingers through Virgil's purple hair to wake him up

Butterfly, wake up

But I'm finally going to take you out on our first date, is that worth waking up?

Let me sleep in for 5 minutes then I'll get ready
Roman agrees, kissing Virgil's forehead then set an alarm for 5 minutes. After the alarm went off, Virgil reluctantly woke up but got ready for the date. Roman smiled, escorting Virgil out of their cabin over to their date spot: a flower covered hill complete with a picnic and gorgeous sunset
Virgil hugged Roman, kissing his cheek and saying that the spot was beautiful. Roman smiled, bringing Virgil to the picnic blanket. Roman sat down and Virgil sat on his lap. They ate food provided in the basket as they talked. They watched the sun go down and fireflies started appearing when it was dark
Roman sprinted off to the fireflies so that he can catch some, Virgil went at his own pace and managed to catch one. The couple returned back to the picnic blanket with fireflies, each making a wish then released them back into the air
Virgil yawned afterwards, leaning against Roman. Roman smiled, picking up Virgil bridal style after putting on a headlamp so that he can see his way back to the cabin. Roman leaned down so that Virgil can hold the picnic blanket and basket then walked to the cabin
Once the couple returned, Roman smiled to see Virgil asleep. Roman opened the cabin door and set Virgil on their bed. Roman put away the picnic basket, blanket, and headlamp then got dressed for bed. Roman laid down next to Virgil, cuddling with him as he went to sleep
