Roman quietly entered his house, carefully shutting the embellished wooden door. He lit a candle so that he could see inside the dark house. It was also cold since the fireplace wasn't lit. Roman carefully walked up the stairs, trying his best to be quiet even though his armor clunked as his feet went up the stairs

Roman first entered the house's armory so that he can finally change into comfortable clothes. He did so by himself since the households steward Logan was asleep in his quarters. Roman eventually broke free from his armor, placing it in a large wooden chest for safekeeping. He then went across the hallway to his room, seeing Virgil asleep

Virgil wasn't sleeping in bed, but rather he was asleep in the chair he embroiders in. Virgil worked on the clothing of nobles, embroidering beautiful designs on them. He would get paid a handsome sum in exchange for the work, even though Roman makes more money by being a knight of the kingdom and protecting it from invaders. Whenever not keeping the kingdom safe, Roman trains squires hoping to become knights when they get older. Virgil didn't mind that Roman is paid more than him, content with the embroidery he does for a living not with the money he's being paid

The only drawback to embroidery is that Virgil's hands are constantly sore from the high demand of his customers wanting his work in an outrageous amount of time. Roman feels incredibly guilty about Virgil being worked to the bone all day and night, not getting enough sleep so that he could finish one of many requests from the nobles he serves. Tonight, Roman decides that Virgil would greatly appreciate and benefit from a well deserved and needed break from the work

Roman picked up Virgil bridal style from the chair and feather lightly placed him in their bed. Roman got dressed and laid down next to his love, gently placing Virgil's head on his heart

In the morning, Roman woke up bright and early. Firstly, he was awake so that he could send a letter to the king saying that he would like some time off from being a knight and explaining what is happening to Virgil as his reasoning. After half an hour's time, Roman received a letter back from the king which granted him time off for a bit

Second, Roman closed Virgil's embroidery business since he needed a break. Roman wrote a message and sent it out to Virgil's regular customers, explaining why in the same fashion as the letter sent to the king. Roman heard breakfast being prepared by the households cook Patton, so he went back to his room to find Virgil sitting at his embroidery table. Roman went over and gently placed his hands on Virgil's shoulder, then took away the dress Virgil was working on

¥Virgil¥
Ro, Lady Devereaux needs the dress by tomorrow. Give it back, please

{Roman}
Lady Devereaux has too many dresses to count, she can wait. So can Lord Ambrose and Lord Osmond, all of your customers can wait until you take a break

¥Virgil¥
But how can I work? How can I do my share of supporting ourselves?

{Roman}
Butterfly, your hands are incredibly sore from embroidery. Don't they need a rest?

¥Virgil¥
My hands are fine, I can finish before breakfast is done

Virgil took the dress from Roman, starting to work on it but quickly stopped since his fingers were too sore to finish. Roman picked Virgil up bridal style, bringing him back to bed since sleep will help him get better and he really needs it after staying up working on clothes. Roman gently laid Virgil down, then went downstairs since breakfast was ready. He ate then returned upstairs once finished, checking on Virgil and making sure he was asleep. Roman smiled, kissing Virgil's forehead then went outside. He greeted the group of squires in the backyard of his home, then began their lesson for today
