-A Favor-

Roman jolted up from bed after hearing his phone ring, he checked it to see a familiar yet cautious number. Roman went out into the hallway outside his and Virgil's room so that he doesn't disturb his love. Roman reluctantly answered, hearing a nasal and regal voice

{Remus}
Oh hello brother!

{Roman}
It's 2 in the morning! Why did you manage to get my number after 3 years? I thought I blocked you!

{Remus}
Not telling! I have my secrets!

{Roman}
Tell me why you're calling or else I'll hang up

{Remus}
I have a job for you

{Roman}
My days are over with your family, Remus!

{Remus}
Our family, dearest brother. Father has a use for you, your talents are what we need

{Roman}
No, I'm done with my former life! Leave me alone!

{Remus}
Roman, Roman, Roman. Leave you alone? It would be a shame if something were to happen to that love of yours if you decide to not do this favor for our family

{Roman}
Don't you dare do anything to Virgil!

{Remus}
Then come back home, Roman. You know where it is

Remus then hung up on Roman, the older twin returned to his room to see Virgil awake who was looking shocked. Roman realized that Virgil probably overheard the phone call so he immediately went to his loves side

¥Virgil¥
Ro, I thought that you blocked Remus? Why did he call you?

{Roman}
He wanted me to do something for the family that I cut ties with, but if I don't then something will happen to you. I can't live my life without you in it, I am deeply sorry for now putting you in this situation with my past but it's my duty to protect you from them. I don't have a choice, I lose either way

Come back safe, please. I don't want you to get hurt if you listen to what Remus wants

{Roman}
I promise. I will always come back for you

A few days later, Roman reluctantly drove over to his ex-family's historic Spanish Mansion where his ancestors have lived in for many generations. He went over to his former fathers study and pulled out a red book with A History of the Reyes Family on the cover in gold lettering. 2 bookshelves parted which revealed an elevator. Roman reluctantly stepped inside, his stomach churned with anxiety and anger as the elevator descended down the shaft

The elevator eventually stopped, Roman found himself in a familiar and expansive underground bunker esque space. There were many men in suits walking around the area, the atmosphere in the space smelled like cigar smoke so Roman coughed and tried to air out the smell to no avail

His feet felt like they were stuck in wet concrete as they slowly made their way over to where Romans ex-family were. Remus's father Rodrigo, to whom Roman is now estranged from, was in the middle of a quick gambling game of cards when Roman knocked on the door of this room

Rodrigo has a pretty expensive cigar in his mouth and is wearing an equally expensive black and red pinstriped suit. He has a pencil thin mustache, clearly the inspiration behind  Remus's own. He also has greying dark brown hair and dangerous brown eyes. Remus on the other hand, wore a moderately priced green blazer over a black button up. He has a more fuller mustache compared to his father, but they share the same hair down to the grey streaks and danger behind their brown eyes

Roman was led inside and sat in a seat across from Rodrigo and Remus. A floor plan of a bank was in the middle of the table with chess pieces and loose game pawns from many board games on top of the map. Rodrigo takes a quick drag from his cigar, then speaks to Roman

|Rodrigo|
Welcome back, my son. I see that you have listened to your brother after 3 years

{Roman}
I cut ties with all of you 3 years ago! I could finally repent for my sins and live a normal life, but no! You asked him to call me and ask me for a favor!

{Remus}
Like I said on the call, Father has a use for your talents so he asked me to contact you

{Roman}
You violated my restraining order! You're currently doing that as we speak!

|Rodrigo|
A job is a job. Whatever I ask of you, you will do it!

{Roman}
I don't live under your roof anymore! You can't force me to do your bidding anymore!

|Rodrigo|
Fine, don't listen to me. You're right, you don't live under my roof anymore. But maybe your love can instead

{Roman}
Virgil has nothing against you! He's innocent! He needs to stay out of my past! Leave him alone!

{Remus}
Your love is your weakness, brother. Listen to father or else you'll say bye bye to Virgil. What will it be then?

{Roman}
If I give in to your demands, Virgil won't be harmed, correct? You will also comply to my restraining order if I listen, alright?

|Rodrigo|
We both get something out of this arrangement if you decide to listen to me

{Roman}
I can't believe that I'm about to say this but...I'll do it. As long as you agree to my terms as well

|Rodrigo|
Of course, a Reyes never goes back on their word. You may go pay a visit to your mother, I don't need you until tomorrow. I expect to see you here again, Romulus

Roman reluctantly left Rodrigo's underground complex, seeing his mother Rosalind laying on a chaise lounge and clutching a martini glass that was about to drop onto the floor. Roman caught it just in time and gently placed the glass on a small table, he silently wished his mother goodbye and drove to the police station so that they can expose Rodrigo's crime organization after many years, and also so that he could tell them that Remus violated the restraining order

With everything sorted out about Rodrigo at the station, Roman drove back home and told Virgil everything about what happened with  Rodrigo and that he went to the police and also told them everything. Virgil hugged Roman tight, relieved that Roman went to the police and told them what happened. Roman embraced Virgil tight, very happy that he isn't going to get targeted by Rodrigo anymore

The following day, the news went crazy over the fact that Rodrigo and his organization finally crumbled. Rodrigo and Remus were sentenced to life in maximum security prison with no chances for parole while their associates got varied sentences depending on what they all did within the organization. Roman was finally able to lift the figurative weight off his shoulders about his estranged father and brother when they got arrested, with the help of Virgil he received therapy sessions if he wanted to go more in depth with a medical professional

Roman did have doubts about Rodrigo and Remus escaping from prison and taking Virgil in revenge for their arrest, but Virgil helped him get the doubts out of Roman's head. Now, with no estranged father and brother vying for his help again, Roman finally was able to live a normal life with Virgil
