I step out into the sunlight, seeing the beginnings of the earth growing. Guess that spring is starting which means that Patton is going back on top. I then feel a body hug me from behind, he starts to move around so that he's in front of me. I realize what I have done

I challenged the underworld and Janustown itself all for the sake of love. I succeeded in my quest, my songbird is now back with me! I immediately pick up my love and carry him bridal style. I give him a million kisses, very happy that I didn't let doubt come in. Virgil smiled brightly at me, equally happy that I passed Janus's trial

Soon afterwards, all of the workers of Janustown started to see the sunlight. They all celebrated, beginning to dance happily and recognize that they are free from the labor they performed down in Janustown. Virgil and I eventually say goodbye to the workers so that we can go back to our life together at the bar where we both work and live at

We return to the bar, my godfather Logan was bringing up cases of drinks from the cellar downstairs when he spotted us. He placed down the case and gave us both hugs. Logan sent us off upstairs to our apartment, resuming what he was doing before Virgil and I arrived

I opened the door, seeing that everything was the exact same as it was. I'll admit, the apartment was a bit messy as sheet music covered some floorboards and was strewn all over the bed. Dishes in the small kitchenette sink were still in there, the equally small fireplace up against the wall was filled with ash. The manageably sized bathroom was okay, only the appliances needed to be cleaned

Sorry for the mess, I was devastated when you weren't here. I tried to work on my song but couldn't get you out of my head so I left for the underground and left the mess behind. I can clean up and make it look nice like it once was

One cleaning montage later, me and Virgil stood in our currently clean apartment. Knowing that Virgil was asking for food and firewood back during winter, I started to make my way out of the apartment. Virgil took my hand as I was about to open the door. We both walked downstairs to the bar, Logan wasn't there so I assumed that he was either in his own apartment, down in the cellar, or ordering supplies for the week out in the markets

I explained to Virgil that I'm going to commit to provide for the two of us since I don't want to make the previous mistakes that I made which lead Virgil to willingly go to Janustown. Virgil offered to come with me to the markets, so we both left the bar

After getting food and firewood, we returned to the bar to see Logan setting up for a celebration. I bring up the bundle of firewood to the apartment then go back downstairs to help Logan set up for tonight. My godfather appreciated my help, telling me that Patton is coming to celebrate the return of spring

After hearing that, my feet began to walk down the cellar so that I could bring up cases of drinks for tonight. Once a good amount of drinks from the cases were stocked, I cleaned the tables, chairs, the bar, and the stage. My eyes started to close and abruptly snap open as the celebration tonight drew closer and closer

Ignoring that, I went back upstairs to my apartment. The sound of water was heard from the small bathroom so I assumed that Virgil was taking a shower. I start a fire in the fireplace so that the apartment gets warm. Soon, I begin on making Virgil something to eat but my eyes close and snap open once again

I then feel a hug from behind so I turn around, seeing my Songbird. I relax as my arms make their way around Virgil's waist, my head starts to rest on Virgil's hair like it was a pillow. I then feel Virgil start to guide me towards our bed but I resist it since I wasn't finished with the food that I was making for him

Ro, you clearly need to go to bed. It's getting late, I can help Logan downstairs during the celebration, you stay up here and rest

I helped Logan set up but he'll probably need both of us, I started a fire to keep you warm and I was making food for you so that you aren't starving. I don't want to make the same mistakes as before, I'm committed to provide for you just like what you wanted

But providing for me isn't the only thing, you can provide yourself too. Please rest Roman

I melt into my Songbirds arms, listening to what he said about also providing for myself. I hear him hum the song that brought back spring as he helped me get ready for bed and laid me down. Virgil's fingers on his right hand ran through my hair as his left hand held my own. My eyes began to close, dreaming about the life that Virgil and I will have again after I rescued him for Janustown
