Part 49 - Road Trip

(The next morning)

Jimin's POV:

I woke up and opened my eyes. Yoongi was staring at me.

Jimin: Were you watching me sleep?

Yoongi: Yes. You're beautiful.

He made me feel so special. I smiled at him and then pulled him into a kiss.

Yoongi: How are you feeling this morning?

Jimin: I'm fine. I feel great. I feel better than great.

I sat up and climbed into his lap wrapping myself around him. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me tightly.

Jimin: I have you, so I'm perfect.

Yoongi: You make me beyond happy.  My travels before were kind of sad and lonely. Sure I was seeing some interesting places, but I felt empty. But now that you're with me, I feel so full. Everything in beautiful.

Jimin: I was lucky that I had you traveling with me. I never felt alone, because there was always you. Even if it was cat you. You always felt like coming home. Now it's like that feeling multiplied times 1000. Traveling with you is the highlight of my life.

Yoongi: Mine too. And we still have nearly 12 days.

We sat and snuggled for a few more minutes before getting up. We packed up our gear and loaded up the rental car.

Jimin: Do you want me to drive?

Yoongi: I'm good. You can drive tomorrow if you want.

Jimin: Okay! If you feel like switching, let me know.

We had a 5 hour drive to Ljubljana, Slovenia. The plan was to stay one night there. Enough time to wander around in the afternoon and tomorrow morning before heading to Croatia.

Midway through our drive, my phone buzzed. It was a text from Jungkook.

Jungkook: 📱Haven't heard from you in a few days.

I was trying to remember, as it seemed weeks ago already. But I'm pretty sure I texted him when we were in Venice. He's being a bit needy.

Jimin: 📱Hey there. Yoongi and I are heading to Slovenia for the night.

Jungkook: 📱 I thought you were in Italy?

Jimin: 📱We were. After Venice we went camping in the Dolomites for a few days. Tomorrow we're going to a park in Croatia.

Jungkook: 📱Ooh ... the one with the lakes?

Jimin: 📱Yes! It looks amazing.

Yoongi: Who are you chatting with? Everything alright?

Jimin: It's just JK.

Yoongi: JK?

Jimin: Jungkook. I thought I hadn't spoken to him since that awkward conversation in Cinque Terre. But I texted him pictures from Venice.

Yoongi: Right. I didn't think it had been that long ago. Doesn't he have friends in Seoul?

Jimin: I think so. I guess he's still in travel mode. He is wondering where we're heading to.  I'm gonna send him some pictures from our hikes. He loves photography.

Yoongi: I remember. He had an assortment of camera gear with him on our hike in Norway.

Jimin: Exactly.

Yoongi: Well, tell him I said hi.

Jimin: (Grinning) Ok!

It was so sweet that Yoongi was supportive of my friendship with Kookie. He really is the best boyfriend I've ever had. And we're just getting started.

Jimin: 📱Here are some photos from Italy. You'd do a better job taking photos than me.

Jungkook: 📱You have a good eye. Don't sell yourself short. So after Croatia, where are you going?

Jimin: 📱Back to Venice to drop off the rental car. Then take the train to Florence and Rome. After that, we head back to Seoul.

Jungkook: 📱Yay! When?

Jimin: 📱AUG 5th.

Jungkook: 📱I can't wait to see you...and Yoongi. How is he?

Jimin: 📱He's good. He said to say hi.

Jungkook: 📱Well tell him hi back. I look forward to getting together with you both.

Jimin: 📱And to meet my friend, Tae. But he won't be back until the end of August.

Jungkook: 📱We'll just have to get together a few times.

Jimin:📱 It's a plan!

Jungkook: 📱Send me photos from Croatia when you can.

Jimin: 📱Will do. Bye, JK!

Jungkook: 📱JK?

Jimin: 📱New nickname. Is that ok?

Jungkook: 📱I liked the old one better, but JK works.

After I said my farewell to Jungkook, it was quiet in the car for a few minutes.

Yoongi: So he's good?

Jimin: Yes. He's jealous of our trip. Plitvice is on his bucket list.

Yoongi: Yeah, it does look like a good place for photography.

Jimin: After seeing my photos from our camping trip, he wants to go to the Dolomites too.

Yoongi: He'll have to come back when he graduates.

Jimin: Exactly!  He said hi, by the way.

Yoongi: That's nice of him.  I should probably text Jin and see where he's at.

Jimin: Aren't they back in Seoul now?

Yoongi: They should be, but I haven't heard from him.

Jimin: We can switch driving if you want.

Yoongi: It can wait. We only have another hour before we get to Slovenia.

I reached over and held his hand, both of us smiling as we entwined our fingers.

Jimin: Have I told you lately that I think you're the best boyfriend ever?

Yoongi: No. But you don't have to tell me. Your smile tells me all I need to know.

He shot me a glance and I smiled broadly at him. My soul mate is my boyfriend. How lucky can I be?
