Part 78 - Make You Forget

(The next Monday)

Jimin's POV

After another class where Jungkook and Hobi were being antagonistic, I got an idea on how to hopefully resolve this. It was early afternoon and I had a History of Dance class to take before being free for the evening. During Street Style class I texted Tae to see if he could meet up after work. Then I quickly pulled JK to the side after class.

Jimin: Are you free at 5 today?

Jungkook: Sure, Hyung. What do you have in mind?

Jimin: I was hoping we could talk. Maybe over a beer?

Jungkook: Okay ... what's this about.

Jimin: I think we need to discuss why you're being so hostile towards Hobi.

Jungkook: Oh

He chewed on his lip for a second and then looked at me, nodding his head.

Jungkook: Drinks would definitely be helpful. Let's meet at the pub across the street.

Jimin: It's a plan. I have to run to class. See you at 5.

My plan was to talk with JK for a bit and then have Tae meet us there. That way I can make sure the two of them talk things out.

The next hour flew by pretty quickly. I dropped off my laptop at my campus office and then headed over to the pub. When I got there, I found Jungkook at a small table towards the back.

Jungkook: Hyung! I ordered us a pitcher of beer and some appetizers.

Jimin: Oh, thanks.

After a couple of minutes the waitress came by with the pitcher and poured us both a pint. I clinked glasses with Jungkook and took a sip, watching as he gulped down nearly half the pint.

Jungkook: I've been wanting to talk to you.

Jimin: Oh? I hope it's about what is going on between you and Hobi.

Jungkook: That Hyung is so annoying.

Jimin: He's just trying to help you.

Jungkook: You don't know.

He looked down at the table and let out a sigh.

Jimin: Then tell me.

Jungkook: He basically tried to coax me into a threesome by promising me good grades.

Jimin: What?! I'm sure he wasn't serious. Hobi can be inappropriate, but he wouldn't do that.

Jungkook: He said he was kidding, but I know he meant it.

This is not how I expected this conversation to go. I felt my phone buzz and looked at the message from Tae. He was running late.

Jimin: Ok, I'll talk to him. Do you want to file a complaint?

Jungkook: No, no. Nothing like that.

Jimin: How about dropping that class?

Jungkook: But I like that class. And I need it for my Minor. If you talk to him, maybe that will be enough?

Jimin: I'll give it a try. I'm sorry. I thought you two were just fighting over Tae.

He was quiet for a minute, took another long chug of his beer, and refilled his pint glass.

Jimin: You do like Tae, right?

Jungkook: Yeah, he's fun when not being an ass.

I watched as he drank half the pint and placed it heavily on the table. He looked up at me with such longing, I started to get a knot in my stomach.
