CHAPTER 52- SICI

*Fedor’s POV*

It was not an easy feat to me to get embarrassed, the rest of the men went quiet as they watched us, and I cleared her throat and looked around, “Are you publicly confessing Chief?”

“Was that what I did?” Chief smirked then got serious, “That’s enough for today, I will deal with my issues as I am sure the rest of you have done, we will soon get to our destination. All hands on deck and if I hear one more word about this, we would revisit the matter of rules and punishments but I will let it slide for now because like Kora said, we have been through a lot, I would hate for you to get through more.” I heard Kora swallow and left our midst.

“Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.” I murmured and made my way to my station.

I heard Castle ask in whisper, “So does he like her or not? I cannot tell.”

“He does.” Kora answered affirmatively, “I saw him kiss her and watched her pull away, he looked like a hungry man who had just been denied of his favorite meal.” I paused as they watched me, Naim’s brow was drawn in question and I shrugged.

“Why are you evasive?” Carlos joined me.

“I am not, isn’t it ridiculous how invested the rest of you are in this? I thought that you guys would be more opposed to the idea than open to it, and this has thrown me into such confusion.” I answered as I started fixing the dispenser.

“You are good with that, why not? It’s the Chief and I have never seen him this way even when he tries and he tries to act unassuming with you but he fails. Even with his straight face, his eyes burn with need for you, I cannot believe I did not notice this sooner but damn, this is the most interesting thing to have happened on this crew in a long time. I can’t believe this might be your last run. I can’t read you on the other hand, you have always looked at him with a mixture of lust and admiration so I can’t tell if there is anything deeper yet why are you not with him yet?”

I gasped dramatically at the accusation, “Always? Okay. That may be true, look at him, he is a creation of wonder.”

“See, its sentences like that that confuses me, are you only interested in objectifying him or is there something more going on?” He pressed.

I wiggled my brows, “I am crazy in love with him. I would die for him, give my life for him, dedicate my entire existence to him, and give him a love so full he would never want to leave.”

He stared at me for a minute, “Damn, you are hard to read.”

I chuckled, I was having fun with this and I felt a lot lighter because I was afraid of what they might think and now I knew that there was nothing to worry about in the first place when it came to them. “Let’s go fix Castle’s door, don’t tell Chief but he did a shit job of that as well.”

“He has a genius mind, he doesn’t have to be good at everything.” He defended and I squirmed with pride at this for some reason. It was good that his men held him in high respect, it made me happy. I wasn’t interested in Joseph’s story and I hoped he rotted wherever he was going, he knew about Martha but hopefully not enough to cause any harm to Chief.
