Chapter 75- Home again

*Fedor’s POV*

“Hello Kurt, care to join us for dinner?” I asked sarcastically since he was full of fury. He must have finally taken notice of Taylor when he took a deep breath and sat- before gulping my glass of water without permission.

“I have been trying to reach you since morning, I have tried your place and work place, and then came into the knowledge that you have no social life so imagine how worried I was especially with everything that had happened.” Kurt was controlling himself, I knew as much since his hand was folded into a fist and I noticed the bruises from last night. I guessed I could not run away from it anymore, I wished he had at  least waited until I was done eating, I took another bite of my food and sighed.

“Sorry, I wanted a break from my life. How are you?” I asked genuinely.

“I will survive,” and in a much gentler tone, he asked me; “What about you? I would have followed you but my mother started another bout after you left. I do not know what you did to Queen but I had never seen her lose her cool, there is a reason she is called the ice queen, yesterday; there was nothing cold about her, fire and brimstones. Who knew it would take you to get her to show some emotions?” I knew that he was trying to make light of the situation, Kurt walking on eggshells, never knew I’d see the day.

I smiled which seemed to relieve some of his tension, “Is she okay?”

“Inspired… Highly inspired. I have never been more proud, she is taking a stand for once instead of brushing everything away and I had to check up on you. I am sorry about Chuks and ever…”

I cut him off, “Kurt, it is not your apology to make and besides if the news is anything to go by, he is already paying for it. Those women, are they real or fabricated?”

“Real, you’d be surprised by the number of people willing to speak up. Chuks was a grade A asshole and that is coming from me.” He relaxed into the chair, seeing appeased.

I chuckled, “Good to know that you are self-aware. This is Taylor, my friend.” I blushed saying that word aloud, it was foreign and I wondered if I had taken it too far by introducing her as such since we had just met today but there was nothing to worry about as she beamed and offered her hand to Kurt.

Kurt carefully shook her hand like it was a weapon and he glared at me, “Since when do you have friends. I thought I was your only friend.”

I laughed, “Since today and I thought you wanted to marry me. You can’t be both.”

“Says who?” He sulked.

“What? Marry?” Taylor looked between us.

“Today doesn’t count then.” Kurt surmised and grabbed a spoon as he joined in eating.

Taylor was not bothered by his rudeness, instead, I thought she was charmed, I might not have known her long but long enough to know she was not completely sane in the head. She countered, “It only takes a day to become friends with people, closeness does not have to factor into time. It is like falling in love, it only takes a moment.”
