Chapter 48 : Accidentally on Purpose

*Fedor’s POV*

“I cannot control what it can and cannot do, quickly hide.” I covered myself with the blanket.

Chief was too relaxed for someone who was about to be caught, he simply raised his brow, “Look at this place, there’s no place to hide.” He said before lying back down.

“I’ll come later, I’m naked and not in the mood for clothes.” I replied trying to make my voice steady.

Carlos chuckled, “Is that an invitation?” Chief glowered at the door before he added, “cos I have got a lady on my own.”

“Go to hell, Carlos. I’ll be there shortly.”

“Fine, don’t make me come back here for you. What kind of a person sleeps for three days?” He muttered the last part to himself as he walked away.

I sat down on the bed and heaved a sigh of relief before slapping Chief’s leg, “You wanted him to see us, what is wrong with you?”

“How did you come to that conclusion? Let’s discuss in bed.” He shifted a little to accommodate me, I stared at the tiny space and groaned. I took my towel and went to have my bath again, it was so early in the morning yet I hadn’t slept. I came back to meet Chief still on my bed, I ignored him and wore my clothes.

Chief sighed before asking, “Is it such a bad thing for us to go public? They all suspect anyway.”

“You mean after your public display of affection. They suspect you might be attracted to me, no one takes me seriously enough to think that the both of us are an actual thing. What happened to all of the other reasons you said, self-respect, my career, your career, your integrity as Chief. What happened to the man with a plan, there is only one room for one impulsive person and I already occupy that position.”

“All of those reasons sound like excuses now, I want to …”

“I heard you the first time and this is not a role I am comfortable playing, the sensible one. Take a beat and actually think about it, I know tonight could have gone wrong but it didn’t. I am alive and so are you, I suspect that we are going to live a long life so let’s not screw it up now by making decisions and don’t do anything that I would do.” I warned.

“Come back to bed.” He held my hand and pulled me in completely ignoring everything that I had said. He kissed my neck, “don’t be worried, don’t you trust me?” He whispered seductively as he took my lower lip in between his teeth.

I stood up abruptly, “No, no…. No. No.” I said nothing else and slammed the door, he was as seductive as sin, I nearly lost my resolve. I quickly made my way to the kitchen and met the rest of the crew there, looked like they had been drinking. Ode was cleaned up and bandaged, I had learned that he would have to follow Kurt and we would meet again at another port.

Carlos warmed my meal and I joined them, they had been talking about the events of the night, Kora seemed drunk than the others. “If you asked me, Joseph deserved way more than to rot in prison for the rest of his life.”
