Chapter 53

I drove down the roads through out the rest of the night, making circles around the farm. I was thinking if I catch and round everyone up we can try and get back to the highway and regroup. I figured it was something Rick and Lily would do.

The whole time walkers were right behind us and coming out of the trees on both sides. I had to speed up to stop them grabbing both me and Carol but soon enough it started to become light again. All that was on my mind was getting back to the highway whether Carol wanted me to or not.

I continued to drive down the roads when a car came into view a little further down. It was zigzagging over the road but I recognised the car so I sped up again and drove next to the drivers side. Glenn was in the drivers seat with Maggie crying next to him. He looked over at me and I nodded my head.

"We should circle back to the highway. See if we can find anyone else." I suggested. "That's where Rick would go."

"Alright." Glenn nodded and we turned down another side road to circle back.

On our way we caught up with Tdog, Beth and Lori, all in the pick up. T didn't take much convincing as he was already heading in the direction we were. Turns out it was Lori who got him to turn the truck around and head back. All we needed now was to find Rick, Lily and the others.

I drove up front with everyone behind as we headed in the direction of the highway. The main thing was to avoid going through the farm. We couldn't risk going back to at this point. Maybe Lily was with Rick. She must have got out. She has to have gotten out. If she's not here she has to be with Rick. Surely.

Soon enough I saw the mounds of cars all pilled up and knew where we were. I pulled onto the highway and headed down to where we'd stopped the first time. Where we'd left the supplies for Sophia. To my surprise, I was right. Rick, Carl, Briana and Hershal were all hiding behind Hershal's car. They'd made it. Rick then came over, shook my hand and nodded his head.

I kicked the stand of my motorcycle down and climbed off to where Carol got off after me. As I did Lori ran and threw her arms around Carl and both Maggie and Beth ran over to Hershal. "Where'd you find everyone?" Rick asked looking over at me and then to everyone else.

"Well, those guys' zigzagging all over the road. Figured it had to be Asian driving like that." I turned and looked at Glenn who chuckled. "Where's the rest of us?" I added as I looked around. There was still a bunch of us missing, including Lily.

"We're the only ones who made it so far." Rick replied. He then lowered his head and I instantly got a feeling that something was up.

"Shane?" Lori asked. Rick shook his head. He didn't say anything. He just stood and shook his head.

"Andrea?" Glenn also asked.

Carol stepped forward shaking her head. "She saved me then I lost her." She muttered.

"We saw her go down." Tdog shook his head, leaning up against the car door.

"Pratricia?" Hershal questioned, adding onto the list.

Beth looked up at him. "They got her too. Took her right in front of me. I was...I was holding onto her daddy. She just...what about Jimmy? Did you see Jimmy?" She sobbed.

"He was in the RV. It got overrun." Rick spoke softly and Beth broke down into tears.

"What about Lily?" I questioned. This also caught the attention of both Briana and Hershal.

Rick took a deep breath and looked towards me. "We got out of the barn and made a run for the woods. We had to fight a couple of them. She got taken down. We had to go. She might've got out. I don't know." Rick spoke just above a whisper, shaking his head. I wasn't going to believe it. I couldn't believe it. She had to be alive. I had to know for sure.
